Sam brushed through her blonde locks gently, preparing for her first date between Josh, and herself. She wore a skintight red dress, with black heels, and a few accessories. Her hair was styled in a bun, with it neatly curled through and through. Her makeup was her usual, knowing Josh, he absolutely loved it.

She peeked in the mirror, an unremovable smile noticed to be on her face, imagining the future ahead. Having a chance to make that connection real.

She quickly finished her styling, and planning, then walking over to her living room. She caught a glimpse of her LED light on her phone shine, knowing there was a notification. She approached it, putting the lock screen in her view. She received a message from Josh.

Josh: Hey, beautiful. 😘

Sam read the text, her curved lips rising higher, her teeth then revealed.

Sam: Hey, Joshy. ❤️

She then wasn't able to just easily leave her phone. Josh responded back quickly.

Josh: You ready?

She quickly readied her fingers in the correct position, her humorous side coming into her mind.

Sam: Nope.

Josh: Well, too bad. I'm here.

She read his final text, making her then run for her jacket, grabbing all needed materials for this one time experience that shall never be forgotten.

She swiftly motioned to the front door, the bell ringing as she arrived. She swung the door open, Josh standing there, a bouquet of roses and flowers in hand, and another item hidden in his pocket.

"Hey, Josh!" Sam greeted joyfully, putting on a large smile.

"Hey, Sam!" Josh said back, now approaching her, handing her the fresh flowers. "I got beautiful flowers.. For a beautiful girl."

Sam's cheeks tinted to a light shade of scarlet, her smile growing in size, laughing weakly. "Okay, that was not original." She teased, taking the flowers from his hands.

"Well," he shrugged, keeping a straight face, "I'm trying to be a gentlemen."

Sam punched his shoulder playfully, then allowing him to step inside her apartment. She went in search of a glass vase, used to store the flowers in. She did know there was one easily accessed in one of her closets.

She successfully found it, retreating to where Josh remained. She placed the vase upon her dining table, approaching the sink for water. She used a plastic cup to collect the needed water, then pouring the cold liquid into the glass vase repeatedly until it was at a good level.

"Okay," she smiled, then looking to Josh. "Ready?"

"Yeah." He stood up from the wooden chair, pushing it back in. "Let's go."

Sam and Josh together exited the content apartment, approaching Josh's black car. They entered, preparing themselves for the ride. Josh was surprising Sam by bringing her to one of the most luxurious restaurants in town, ready to actually end the constant meaningless flirting with her and just say those three words, no problem.

He put the car keys in the keyhole, the engine starting, and revving loudly.

Sam sat back, using one of the buttons beside the seat to have it fall back. Josh looked to her with a decently sized smile, her turning to face him with the same expression.

He put the car from park to drive, leaving the front of her home, the night now beginning.

The drive was tensely silent, them both showing to be at a loss for words, which shouldn't be a problem for the two, but it was. There was no radio playing, or barely even the sound of multiple vehicles passing, entering the car, and leaving some sort of sound.

Then the place came into view, Josh half smiling, excited, but nervous about rejection from her. He shouldn't be worried.

"We're here." Sam remarked, sitting up from her down position.

They exited the car after Josh found a parking spot, walking hand in hand to enter the restaurant.

Josh released her hand, opening the glass door.

"After you." He gestured, her not restraining to enter.

"A real gentlemen." She teased, entering inside the restaurant, looking back at Josh as he entered behind her.

They approached the receptionist, Josh leading. He arrived, resting both hands upon its granite countertop.

Sam now taking in her surroundings listened to the soft classical music playing in the background, a women singing lyrics along with it. She hummed along the beat, recognizing the tune as the refrain played.

Josh then noticed a women in a pantsuit in front of him, greeting him with a smile.

"How many, sir?" She asked, peeking past him to view Sam, then looking back to Josh.

"I reserved two." He responded, informing her of the wanted number.

"Right this way."

She grabbed two menus, leading the non official couple to their table. They both took their seats, awaiting the waiter to arrive and assist them.

She did finally arrived, taking their orders for appetizers and entrées, leaving them to wait for the meal to be served.

Then it was that point in the night for Josh to speak up.

"Hey, Sam?" He retorted, gaining her precious attention.

"Yes, Josh?" She replied back, her lips curving upwards.

"I just want you to know that - I-I love you." He said, his voice low, but still managed to be loud enough heard.

She gripped his hand in hers, smiling wider. "I love you too, Joshy."
