Mike and Jess recently split in the past two months. Jess has changed ever since the murderous experiments, and the unforgettable events taking place on Mount Washington in general. But, she felt as if he had his eyes were out for someone else besides herself. He shows barely any commitment and just seemed to treat her like one of his toys. And now, understanding she didn't have the strength to do any of that, she chose to just leave him.... Through text.
Sam discovered they had recovered Josh's body. Alive for a start. But not human. He has morphed into one of those death defying creatures that his sister became, and there was no cure. They left him on the mountain, roaming freely in the woods, other Wendigo's most likely around him. They couldn't all have been in the Lodge.
Chris and Ashley grew close ever since the experiments they were tested in. The gun Chris held caused him to confess his feelings, and after they settled down, he talked to her about it. He had to. It was all there was left to do.
Now it has been 3 months total since the events. Everyone grieved differently as in some crying, others having it disappear in two seconds, and finally some who just hide their emotions.
Even Emily shaped herself up back to a kind human being she was meant to be... Finally. After all these years she realizes.
To celebrate, all had decided to take a trip to the beach together as a group once again. Have a picnic, surf and swim in the water, and just have a grand old time.
The beach was located very close to all of them considering it was in their community.
First arriving was Sam considering she was always one of the earliest, followed by Chris and Ashley carpooling in one vehicle. Emily and Jess rode together, and Mike took his car, Matt in the passenger seat. Mike's car was luxurious with black tinted rims and a spoiler. Everything was chromed black, as he had himself a Maserati. How lucky he was to live the life of a rich man.
They all met up together in the central beach area, most girls wearing bikinis but Jess wore a long length dress covering her cuts, scars, and bruises all over her body. Some were viewable, but others not so much. She still wore the bikini but refused to remove the dress there.
Each and every one of the guys wore board shorts and that seemed to be all. Mike of course wore his golden watch because it was 'greatly needed' at that time. Everyone else knew it was to show off how much wealth he had. He was like 'The New Josh' in the group, just different in several ways.
They all sat upon a large blanket, set up with a small picnic for each to enjoy.
"How's everybody been?" Sam begun a conversation, breaking the tense silence between them. Besides the sounds of the blowing of the wind, and the seagulls chirping, it was silent.
"Coming to the bright side I guess you could say." Ashley shrugged, gazing over to Chris with a smile. She must have been referring to their relationship.
"Yeah..." Sam muttered, clearing her throat, standing up from the towel. "I'll be right back." She faked a smirk weakly trying to assure the group nothing was wrong or bothering her, but it didn't work for Mike.
Sam begun walking along the water, Mike catching up to her, standing beside her curious of why she had left in the first place.
"You okay?" He asked, his voice sympathetic towards her.
"I'm fine." She spoke sternly, snapping a bit to him.
"You don't look fine." He remarked, studying her emotions through her actions. She kept biting at her bottom lip frequently. She would usually do that when nervous, or just depressed or saddened slightly. Mike came to notice that after the last month of occasionally hanging out with her.
She crossed her arms, her lips curving downward into a frown, further than before. "Just stuff in my mind, you know?
"Yeah," he nodded, "I feel yah." He flashed a smile, the waves covering his feet, causing the sand to become mushy.
"Let's just get back to the group." She stopped continuing along the water, turning around back in the direction of the group
"Yeah." He agreed, following suit.
After walking for a short period of time, they arrived, the groups eyes pinpointing on Sam. Josh had to be on her mind. Who else would. He was the one she spoke about having a connection with. No one else was never to be seen again besides him becoming one of those horrific cannibalized creatures that were freakishly long.
She sat near the group, hearing the sound of her friends voice grab her attention. "Hey," Mike piped up, "how about we do a challenge?" He smiled devilishly, catching a glimpse of the sea water.
"Like?" Jess said, awaiting an answer.
"Jump into the ice water." He stood up, brushing the sand off of his calves. "I'll do it. Any volunteers?"
Everyone remained silent.
"No one will do tha-" Ashley begun to speak before Sam's voice was soon barging in on her.
"I'll do it." She stood up, removing the towel she recently wrapped around her waist.
She approached Mike's side, gazing into his deep brown eyes, brightened by the light reflecting him. She couldn't do that all day. She turned away before noticed.
They begun walking over to the water slowly, the group following behind them, Matt whipping out his phone, recording that.
By now they were running. When they reached the water, Sam took a leap in, Mike staying behind, leaving her alone in the icy water. He fooled her once as she was the one to freeze.
"What!? Mike! You fucker!" She scolded, laughing slightly along with him. She splashed him, walking out into the sand.
"Oops..." He shrugged, continuing to laugh.
"Come here!" Sam ran to him, grabbing hold of his arm, pulling him in with her. They kept in there, splashing each other with the water, laughing to no end.
"Oh you're going down!" Mike teased, lunging to Sam, tackling her into the sand, while her hair begun soaking in the water.
He realized how close their faces were to each other. Mike stared into her lightly colored green eyes as she stared into his brown, hazel ones.
Mike had an urge to kiss her. He deeply wanted to. But he never really wanted to ruin what they had together. But he did it. He pushed his lips into hers, catching her by surprise. She didn't take long until kissing back, passionate and affectionate.
They remained there. Their lips moving in sync with each other's.
Sam grabbed hold of Mike's face pulling him closer to her, intensifying the kiss. She didn't want to ruin the moment, but she had to pull away.
They both took a deep breath in, staring at each other with unremovable smiles plastered across their faces.
Mike got off from on top of her, grabbing her hand, and pulling her up off the ground. They faced the group, their faces full of perplexed glares and jaws dropped wide.
"Mike! Already?" Matt mocked, laughing at him.
"What?"
"Another girl..." His arms slumped down as he stared at him disapprovingly. "Come on."
A tint of scarlet came across Sam's face as she stood there beside him.
"Well-"
"By the way..." Matt smiled. "I got that aaalllll on video..."
