"Sammy!" Josh called, gaining Sam's attention as she was fiddling around with the water to the jacuzzi.
"What?" She replied, removing her hand from the water faucet.
"Wanna help me get this fire going?"
Sam glanced over to the bathtub, thinking on her relaxing experience coming up just in that sauna.
"Uh, I was just getting into the bath." She informed, continuing to mess around with the faucet. The water was slowly beginning to heat up but, wasn't showing any sign of actually remaining that way.
"Oh." He said, then completely forgetting about his own task at hand. "Well, do you need any help with that?" He asked childishly, bringing a smile to Sam's face.
"Hardy har!" She cooed, proceeding to fill the tub with its water. She felt for it, feeling its not so appealing temperature. It brushed upon her fingertips, sending its coldness further down onto her palm, it dripping down.
"Ah, what?" She sighed, disappointed of the outcome she got after setting it all up. "Alright Josh, let's see if you know how to hook up the hot water in your big fancy Lodge."
She left the bathroom, her hopes rising, knowing in a matter of time, she will be soaking in the hot water, her vacation only beginning. Everything that was on her mind just would fade away, leaving her with no more stress, just leaving her to enjoy the moment.
As she scavenged around the Lodge, she was overhearing a conversation between Josh, Chris, and Ashley about a seance, and a spirit board. She refused to be a part of it, her bath coming in handy for more than one reason.
As they engaged more into the conversation, she heard the tone of Josh's voice change drastically at the mention of the board in a different manner. It brought up his sisters once again, leaving another metaphorical knife in his heart at it usually would. That's when Sam had to cut in.
"Josh, no hot water is kind've a major oversight, don't ya think?" She interrupted, the eyes of the three pinpointing on her, Josh relieved to have been taken away from the scarring memories of last year.
"Yeah, just gotta fire up the boiler, downstairs, in the basement." He informed, a smile curving his lips upward.
"Well, shouldn't we go?" Sam insisted, then beginning to edge closer to the basements entrance. She did want his help with her bath.
"Sure. You start going, and I'll meet you there, after I give these two a little assignment." He dismissed Sam, allowing her to step away from the group. She still was eavesdropping on the little assignment Josh had been giving to Chris, and Ashley. Just retrieving the Spirit Board. Not a big deal... To Sam at least.
Josh then walked over to her, a smile across his features. One that brought joy to her, just to see he was somewhat over the events occurring last year. He was grieving some way that kept him sane.
"Let's get you that hot water, shall we?" He said, leading her to a set of broken down stairs that would bring them where they needed to be.
"We shall." She smiled extendedly, her always able to just joke around with him.
"Just, watch your step." He informed her, reminding her of the little chunk of concrete, missing on the decrepit set of old stairs.
"I think I can handle a little old set of stairs." Sam replied sarcastically, her teeth then revealed in her smile.
"Yeah. You should be capable. Just wanted to warn you. That's all."
The two walked down the stairs, a distance apart from each other, Josh still remaining ahead.
