Sunlight shone through the window of your room as you laid flat back on your bed, your eyes locked on the ceiling. You sighed as you remembered the unforgettable events that happened the night before... the meeting with Hiccup... the walk to Stormo's... the cheesy jokes and laughs that you two shared...

You cracked a smile at the thought, you liked him... you liked him a lot...

But your smile soon faded as you'd also remembered the short phone conversation with Jack... two people to see in one day, one's a close stranger while the other's someone that you'd known since childhood. You felt a slight pang of guilt as you're somehow happier with the idea of seeing Hiccup today rather than Jack...

You sighed and sat up, thinking that it's about time that you should've got ready for school. Usually, you would just call in sick or make up some other excuse, but since today was the last day before the holidays, you thought that you might as well go.

You stepped out of bed and did your daily morning routine; brush teeth, shower, get dressed and do your hair. Just as you walked out of the bathroom, still halfway finishing your braid, you noticed a figure standing on your balcony, but the sheer curtains kept their face hidden.

"Come in, Jack." You mumbled as you walked over to make your bed.

The winter spirit then appeared from behind the curtains and pulled the handles to the doors of the balcony, entering your room. "How did you know it was me?" he asked, eyeing you attentively.

"Shaggy hair, unique staff and the creepy, stalker-ish vibe," you said. "Why wouldn't I know it's you?"

Jack rolled his eyes and plopped down on your bed lazily. "And here we go with the stalker thing again."

"Hey! I just made that!" you scolded, referring to your now-messy-bed.

"Guess you'll just have to re-make it again later, cause right now I need some shut-eye." The boy smirked slyly and placed both his arms under his head as he lay comfortably on your bed.

"Whatever," you huffed. "I just won't make my bed ever again since you're just gonna mess it up every time." You walked over to the door and grabbed your scarf from the rack beside.

"Wise decision, Ms. (L/N)." Jack murmured, making you let out a chuckle and playfully roll your eyes.

"Oh, and just out of curiosity, what exactly did you wanted to tell me last night...?" you asked coolly as you looked at him.

Jack opened an eye, then the other; his vibrant crystal eyes stared at you and you suddenly felt uncomfortable under his unmoving gaze. "Well, I..." he trailed off.

You glanced over at the clock that you've recently hung on the wall opposite your bed and saw that there was only 15 minutes before school starts. You eyes widened and turned back at Jack. "Uh, never mind that, you can just tell me that after school." You said before dashing out of the room and down the stairs.

"W-Wait!" you heard Jack called out but you didn't stop as you're almost at the bottom of the stairs. "(Y/N)! This is important!"

You were nearly out the front door when a voice abruptly sounded from behind, and it's not Jack's... you sucked in a deep breath, knowing fully-well who it belonged to, and turned around to face your mom.

"(Y/N)," she began, her voice was sweet and friendly. "Are you heading out to school?"

"Uh, yea..." you gave her a nod and noticed from the corner of your eye that Jack had stopped halfway on the stairs, he kept silent as he looked down at the both of you.

"Listen," your mom took a step forward to you. "I just wanted to apologize..." she stared up at you with caring eyes. "I shouldn't have yelled at you... I was a teenager once, always angry at my parents for the most ridiculous things... but you're not like that, (Y/N)."

You didn't speak, vaguely stunned by her apology.

"And I'm so grateful to have a daughter like you..." your mom murmured, smiling warmly at you. But when you didn't reply, she continued. "I just wanted the best for you, (Y/N), I don't want you to be stuck at home all day like me, all I ask for is that you can be able to do normal things that teenagers do, like go out with friends and explore the town."

"Well, that's good, because I actually have a date with someone today..." you finally spoke up. And date... technically, you weren't positive that that is what it really is... but it didn't mattered much right now.

"A date?" your mom sounded surprised, but also happy as the smile on her face grew. You nodded and knew that she was going to ask a thousand questions about it... but to your own surprise, she didn't.

Instead, she pulled you into a hug and murmured, "I am so happy for you, (Y/N)!" you could feel her grinning. "Just make sure you don't come home too late, alright." She smiled before pulling away.

"Yea, mom, okay." You returned her smile. "And I should really go to school right now..."

"Oh, right! You're going to be late!" your mom beckoned you out the door. "Go on, quickly now!"

You laughed lightly and said your 'Goodbye' before you left the house. You walked up the pavement, trying your best not to trip on snow, yes that happens. "Hey, (Y/N)," you suddenly heard Jack from behind, causing you to jerk your head around and you were met with his pair glistening of blue eyes.

"Oh, hey, Jack," you gave him a quick smile. "Look, I have to get to school right now so can we just talk later? Like really? Please?"

"Since when did you get a date?" he asked, ignoring your pleas. "And who are they?"

You let out a faint sigh. "Since last night, and he's a really nice guy. Now would you please leave me to rush to school in peace?"

Jack's lips turned into a tight frown and he nodded, almost like the movement pained him to do so. "Alright then, if that's what you want, I'll leave you alone."

"No, Jack- That's not what I meant-" you tried but it was too late, he'd already flown up into the cloudy sky and was now nowhere to be seen...
