'Funny because I thought you said Hiccup.' You chuckled. Astrid looked at you curiously. You bit your lip. 'Wait...'
'Oh and Jack?' Astrid interrupted.
'Hmm?' The winter spirit looked shocked. Astrid didn't say anything. She just threw him a long object. Jack's eyes widened as he caught the new staff. 'My staff!' He exclaimed, 'How did you-' Immediately the staff was covered in frost, delicate pattern circling it.
'Doesn't matter.' Astrid rolled her eyes. 'Just say thank you.'
Jack turned the staff over in his hands, a massive grin on his face. 'This is gonna be fun.' He smirked.
Astrid shrugged. 'Close enough.' You just watched the curiously. Jack admired his staff and Astrid, being the warrior she was, kept glancing towards the door. You knew you had to get out of there but-
'He can't be back!' Jack exclaimed. Astrid slammed her hand over his mouth. 'Shut up!' She hissed as she released him.
'Sorry.' Jack ran his fingers through his hair nervously. 'I just... when?'
'Where did he go?' You asked, relief flooding through you. You knew he would come back... you just knew it, yet you couldn't help but feel betrayed that Hiccup hadn't told you where he was going. He was you boyf- wait... oh my god did you just think that?
'Can we just get out of here first, please?' Astrid smiled at you, probably seeing as your face had paled slightly. She didn't blame you. 'He's fine (Y/N),' She said, 'But we really need to go.' She turned on her heels, walking towards the door briskly. 'I beat the crap out of the guys outside.' She said indifferently as she swung the door open. Your eyes widened and Jack chuckled as she stepped over the unconscious bodies. You shook your head and walked over to Marcus's body, heaving it up. Jack helped you and together you took off after her, Marcus's heavy body draped between you.

It didn't take you long to get the stairs that led to the deck of the ship. Astrid had led you through the maze-like corridors, avoiding guards and soldiers.
'What now?' Jack gripped his staff tightly, his face grim. He didn't like not being in charge, you could tell, but he also knew that Astrid knew what she was doing.
'Wait here.' She whispered and she crept up the steps, disappearing onto the deck.
'Should we follow her?' You asked.
Jack glanced at you. 'No, she knows what she's doing.'
'Yeah.' You both fell into a silence, not awkward, but not exactly wanted. 'So.' You said, breaking the silence after what felt like ages. 'Hiccups back.'
Jack glanced at his feet. 'Yeah.' He mumbled. You saw him bite his lip.
You sighed. 'We should move.' You whispered before standing and walking behind a massive pile of barrels. You almost forgot to bring Marcus, remembering only at the last second. Jack followed you, crouching beside you in the confined space. He gripped his staff harder, knuckles whiter than usual.
'What's wrong?' You asked, touching his shoulder. He flinched then looked at you apologetically. 'Sorry.' He mumbled, 'Fear of confined spaces.'
Your eyes widened. 'Really?'
Jack looked at you quizzically. 'No, I love how fresh the air is and the feel of objects pressing against me. It's truly remarkable.'
'Yeah it is.' You chuckled.
Jack was silent, staring at you. He sighed. '(Y/N) I'm sorry I doubted Hiccup.' He looked away from you, casting his gaze on the ground.
You put your hand on his knee. 'It's ok Jack.'
He didn't answer. 'He- I don't know... I-' You stuttered, 'Jack I was starting to doubt him to.'
Jack looked up now. 'But you were always so positive!' He exclaimed.
You sighed, 'It doesn't mean I felt it. I doubted him, Jack, and I feel terrible for it as well. But he's still our... friend.' You paused on the last word. Jack must've seen your face. 'Just a friend?' He asked, raising an eyebrow.
You breathed in deeply, looking away from him. Jack sighed. It broke you. And then you felt his cool fingers on your chin, pulling it up to face him. 'When this is over (Y/N), you're going to have to make a choice.' He whispered.
You nodded. 'I-'
'I want you to choose who makes you the happiest.' Jack smiled, 'And-'
'RUN!' You heard Astrid's voice echo through the ship.
