You sighed, wrapping your arms around yourself and leaning against the cave wall. You noticed Baron had left the blanket on the ground. You reached out, wrapping your fingers in the worn and scratchy material. With a sigh you pulled it over yourself, pulling it up around your chin as you closed your eyes.
You thought of your parents, especially your mom. She would be freaking out by now. You would probably get a lecture when you got home... But the thought of being in her arms against made you happy. You smiled, thinking of how her face would light up when she saw you for the first time.
"You know if I'd known you were going to use the blanket, I would've found a better one." Jack's voice snapped you out of your trance and you looked up, eyes locking with his. You could see how much he cared for you, just from the way he looked at you with that familiar spark in his eyes. You looked at your hands quickly, knowing that you would never deserve him.
"What's wrong?" Jack sat beside you, placing his hand over yours. You smiled at the coolness of it and the sense of comfort it gave you. Jack watched you quietly, waiting for an answer.
You sighed, leaning your head against his shoulder. "I don't know." You whispered. You were being partly honest... There was no way you could even begin to describe how much was wrong. So much had happened lately and it was overwhelming you. You had hurt the two boys you cared about, been kidnapped, tortured and then saved by Baron who was both your torturer and savior. But there was something else... That moment in the blizzard and you knew you had to ask.
"Jack?" He looked down at you, smiling kindly. "Yeah?"
"When I was in the blizzard," You said carefully, "There was a moment where I thought... I thought I-"
"Saw me?" Jack raised an eyebrow.
"Not you as such... I saw your eyes." You watched him carefully, waiting for him to tell you that you were crazy. But he didn't. He opened his mouth to speak, hurt in his eyes. "(Y/N), I wish I could tell you it was me. If it had been I would've pulled you out then and there but-"
"It wasn't you?" You sighed.
"No." Jack's arms wrapped around your waist, pulling you closer. You smiled, leaning into him but also conscious that Hiccup and Baron were just outside. You remained silent, thinking about what Jack had said. You knew you had seen blue eyes. You knew they weren't Baron or Hiccup's because they both had green eyes, though they still share differences, and that had left Jack... but it wasn't him.
"Do you think I'm seeing ghosts?" You asked suddenly. You literally felt Jack flinch as he quickly said, "No, ghosts aren't real."
"But spirits are." You said, becoming more confident in your theory.
"Where are you going with this?" Jack eyed you curiously. Without thinking you pulled up your shirt, showing Jack the wound in your side.
"What!" Jack bounced up, "Let me fix that!"
"Let me explain." You said calmly, "I need Baron." You flinched as Jack touched your side. "Does it hurt?" he asked.
"No." you lied. Rolling your eyes, you gestured for Jack to help you up. He did, taking your hands and pulling you to your feet. Wrapped his arm around your waist, avoiding your wound, and supported you as you walked towards Baron and Hiccup.
"(Y/N)?" Hiccup asked in surprise. You could see the jealousy in his eyes as Jack held you up. You ignored it, biting your lip. You turned to Baron. "What did you stab me with?" You demanded.
"You stabbed her!" Jack yelled, balling his fists. Hiccup didn't look any less angry.
"Uhh..." Baron's face turned a cute shade of red, "A blade?"
"Who gave you the blade?" You said, frustrated at his answer.
"Marcus? Why?" Baron mumbled, shifting awkwardly.
"Do you still have it?" You could feel the fear in the pit of your stomach as you waited for his answer.
"Yeah..." Baron's answer surprised you. He reached into his pocket, pulling out the knife and handing it to you. You inspected it, twirling it around in your fingers. Baron, Hiccup and Jack watched you curiously. Fear was gripping you as you became more and more sure your theory was correct.
"I saw a ghost." You whispered, looking at Baron.
"What?" He seemed puzzled.
"Before you rescued me, I saw it."
"What do you mean?" Baron asked. You handed him the dagger and he looked at it, inspecting it properly for the first time. His eyes widened and he froze.
"What's wrong?" Hiccup asked, eyes narrowing.
You bit your lip. "It's a Kamatayan blade." You whispered.
"A what?"
"It means a death blade."
