'Baron.' You whispered, pulling his head onto your lap as you moved his messy brown hair out of his eyes. 'Baron?' You said more forcefully. The boy didn't move... Didn't even look at you... Didn't react...
'Baron. Hey!' Your words came out in strangled gasps as Baron didn't move. 'Baron look at me!' You turned his head to face you but his eyes remained closed... like they always would and somehow you knew this but refused to believe it. 'Breathe.' You whispered, 'You're ok. You're ok.' Your words came out as choked sobs. 'Baron.' You pushed his hair off his face, tucking it behind his ear. 'Stay with me.' You repeated the words constantly. 'Stay with me. Stay with me! You stay with me! You hear me! Baron?' You leaned your forehead against his. 'Baron!' A tear slid down your cheek. 'No. No. No. No. No. No!' You broke into an uncontrollable sob, tears rushing down your face and onto his, trailing over his lips.
'(Y/N).'
'What!' You snapped. 'This is your fault! This is your entire fault! You should've warned us! I could've saved him!' You jumped to your feet, crying as you clenched your fists. 'He died for me!'
'(Y/N) listen to me. Your friends are in danger.' You looked down at Baron's pale form, crying harder. 'I never got to tell him I love him.'
'That's the thing about life.' The old women sighed. 'What makes it precious is that it ends.' She looked down at Baron's sleeping form. 'What better way is there to die then saving the one person you love?'
You lips quivered. 'I know it feels like your saying goodbye.' The old women whispered, 'But he will always be with you. In here.' She touched your heart. 'And I know you'll miss him... but right now your friends need you.'
You blinked your eyes. 'I can't leave him here.'
'(Y/N) we need to go.' The women's voice cracked. She put her hand on your shoulder, tugging you away from Baron.
'No!' You screamed, tears flooding.
'(Y/N)!' She pulled harder, leading you away from Baron's lifeless body.
'No! I need to be with him!' You sobbed one last time as Baron's body disappeared into the tree line.

Your heart felt broken. Shattered. And you felt numb. You had felt immortal, thought Baron was immortal... and now he was gone.
'I love you.' You whispered. You had to say it. You didn't even know if we could hear it, but something told you he had.
'You can cry later, (Y/N), but you need to focus.'
'I know.' You mumbled, voice cracking, 'How do I find them?' You reached a clearing, stepping out and finding yourself at the edge of a cliff. You looked down at the churning waters below. Rocks lined the sea, waves pounding them. It would be certain death if you were crushed between them... Which seemed likely.
'They went in there.'
'In the water!' You asked in shock. Your eyes narrowed. 'How can I trust you?' You thought about Baron. Pitch had found you and Baron...
'You can't.' The women shrugged, 'But what choice do you have?' You leaned forward, looking down at the water below. 'What happens when I hit the water?'
'You sink.' The women said simply.
'I can't breathe.'
'Duh.'
'Then-'
'(Y/N) you need to trust me. You'll sink, I can promise you that. But it won't be for long before you reach the bottom. If your heart is pure enough then you will enter a cavern. That's where Jack and Hiccup went.' The women sighed. 'If your heart is not pure then...' She looked up at you sadly.
Your hand instinctively went over your heart. It wasn't pure. Everything you'd done to Hiccup, Jack and Baron... 'My heart isn't pure.' You whispered, 'I'll never make it.'
'Yes you will.' The women smiled. 'You know why?'
You shook your head sadly.
'Because you are hope.' The words seemed to ring, whispering through the air. Hope? How could you be hope? All you'd done was hurt people... But then... You remembered all the fun times you'd spent with Jack... and how you'd helped him through all the problems he'd faced. Hiccup, the day you met him you had shown him the way to the shop and the hope you had seen in his eyes... That one day you'd be together.
And Baron... He was so alone and believed he could never change... that he was evil but you had changed him. He believed that you had changed him. You'd given him that hope and he'd sacrificed it for you.
They had held on to hope for you. You had kept it alive. You had become their hope. And they had needed that.
You sighed. Even if you failed this test you'd be with Baron. You could say you were sorry and that you never meant for that to happen. With that in mind you jumped, heading to the dark waters below.
