Sure enough the town was rising up in the distance. You had to admit it reminded you of a fairytale, especially with everything going on.
Berk was a rather small island containing many interesting sights. The rocky arches and cliffs, beaches, waterfalls and streams captivated you, as they seemed to appear by the dozen around you. One thing in particular caught your eye though; the countless dragons flying around the town.
You felt your heart pulsate as you neared them, spying many different dragons. Some were huge, some were small and there were too many colours for you to count. Pink, blue, green, orange, red, yellow... It was just amazing.
'Umm (Y/N)?' Your eyes focused on a hand waving in front of your face. Hiccup watched you, an amused smile on his face.
'Sorry.' You said, still stunned by Berk.
'It's pretty cool isn't it?' Hiccup grinned. All you could do was nod as Toothless flew through the sky and towards the village below.
'Hiccup!' A huge, ok by huge you meant wide, man with blonde hair and tight fur clothes yelled. You thought you felt the earth shake as he approached you, a huge smile on his face. You looked at his helmet and the giant horns that stuck out of it... and you weren't surprised.
'Gobber!' Now that did surprise you. What kind of a name was Gobber? You glanced over at Baron and Jack, both boys shuffling awkwardly by Toothless. Baron looked the worst. His face was pale and his body almost shook in nervousness, like maybe he'd never seen a Viking before. Who were you kidding? Neither had you! But something about the Viking seemed familiar... particularly how he spoke.
Hiccup on the other hand was by Gobber's side, shaking his hand fiercely before being enveloped in a huge hug. 'Where have you been son?' Gobber exclaimed.
Hiccup had no reply. In the middle of the village wasn't exactly the best place to tell what was happening. He glanced back at you and motioned for you to join him. You did, nervousness flooding your veins. 'Hey.' You squeaked. Gobber chuckled, a deep throaty chuckle and extended his hand.
'Hi!' He bellowed. You took his hand. You swore his grip nearly crushed your bones and you were glad when he let go. 'So this is the famous (Y/N).' He stated with a grin.
'Famous?' You turned to look at Hiccup, a questioning look on your face. His cheeks were bright red, embarrassment evident in his awkward yet cute smile.
Gobber chuckled. 'Yes my dear, you are famous! Especially to Astrid, she never shuts up about you!'
'Astrid?' You asked, glancing at Hiccup. He ran his fingers through his hair nervously. 'Umm... she's kind of my... ex.' He smiled sheepishly.
'Ex!' You exclaimed.
'Yeah. Did I forget to mention that?' Hiccup asked innocently. You bit your lip. 'What's she saying about me?' You asked.
'Who knows?' Gobber rolled his eyes, 'Maybe you should ask Hiccup.'
'Maybe I should.' You glared a Hiccup. It was half-hearted considering you were trying your hardest not to laugh. Hiccup looked nervous, playing with his shirt. 'Umm...' He mumbled. You burst out laughing. 'I'm just teasing!' You grinned. Hiccup visibly relaxed. 'Don't do that again!'
'Make me.'
'Maybe I will.'
'Sorry to interrupt but don't we have more important things to discuss?' Jack appeared next to you, glancing between you and Hiccup. 'Also I don't think he can see me.' Jack walked up to Gobber, staring down at him in awe. 'Jeez Hiccup what happened?' He asked as he waved his hand in front of Gobber's face, trying desperately to gain his attention.
'What?' Hiccup looked puzzled.
'You're so small compared to this Viking!'
'You're comparing me to him!' You could tell Hiccup felt like punching him. Gobber looked around in confusion. 'What?'
Jack reached up, poking at Gobber's blonde hair. You almost walked up to him but remembered that would look pretty weird. Gobber couldn't see Jack but he could see you. Jack started jumping up and down, yelling differently things.
'Mushrooms! Cows! Cheese!'
You rolled your eyes. 'Can we-' A piercing pain ripped through you. You fell to your knees, groaning in pain. 'Side!' You yelped through gritted teeth. Hiccup was by your side, pulling you onto his lap.
'(Y/N)!' He screamed. Your vision blurred and you saw the moving shapes of Baron, Jack and Gobber as they surrounded you. 'Make it stop.' You whimpered. The pain shot through your side in sharp bursts. Your felt like your whole body was one fire, that one spot the worst. Your hands wrapped around your pain, hoping to get rid of it but ultimately making it worse. You bit back a scream.
'It's going to be ok (Y/N).' Baron whispered.
'Isn't this usually the part where my knight in shining armour saves me?' You meant it as a joke but it came out in a weak croak as at last your vision stopped swimming and was replaced by darkness.
