& here's just a recommended song, just thought I should 'set da mood' 🙂

Today's the day, today's Baron's funeral.

And to say that you're scared is an understatement, you're petrified.

Today, they're going to be placing Baron's body onto a ship, then sail him off. Because that's how Vikings' burial traditions are like, that's what they did with Hiccup's dad when he died; they sent him off, placed most of the things that he'd ever owned onto the ship with him, and the people of Berk set it on fire, sending him to hopefully a better place. Even though you all have no idea on how Baron was brought up, if he'd followed the laws of the Viking world or the one outside of it. But nonetheless, he was the son of the former chief of Berk, and the brother to the current one.
So Hiccup suggested that he should be treated with just as much respect and culture as a normal Viking would be.

But there is also a vague different to his... Instead of just sailing him off then setting it on fire, you all had decided to make a few speeches before doing so. And you've been up almost all night decided on what to say, afraid you'll say the wrong words, and afraid that you won't be able to give Baron the incredible speech that he deserves. Because he truly deserves an impeccable speech.

You made your way down to where the funeral was held; by the rocky shores that led out into the sea. Everyone seemed to have already arrived... everyone except for Jack. You were clueless to where he is at the moment, he told you he had something that he needed to do this early morning then he left, just like that. But you were sure he'd be done with whatever he needs to do and been back by now... but he isn't.

You sighed; your head dipped down vaguely but jerk back up and around when you felt a hand on your shoulder. Your eyes blinked as you were met with Hiccup's familiar green orbs... the same breathtaking emerald green as Baron's...

"Hey, are you okay?" he asked you, his voice a low whisper like he doesn't want anyone else to hear. You gave him a weak nod. "Yea..."

"I know this is going to be hard for you, but," he paused a second before proceeding. "You're not going to be alone, this is for Baron, you're not trying to impress anyone here, so don't worry."

"Okay." You nodded again; your tone was weak as your earlier nod.

He gave you one last meaningful, comforting look before saying, "I have to go first, and you'll be next? Or do you want to go last? After everyone else has finished their speeches?"

You sucked in a deep breath, thought about his question for a moment before exhaling, "After everyone else, please, I-I'd like to have more time to think about mine..."

"Alright then." He murmured and released your shoulder, his arm falling limply to his side and he walked passed you to the center of the shore, just in front of where the ship that contained Baron's body.

Your gaze followed him and stayed on him as he began speaking. You tried to listen, try to get his words into your head, but you can't, because you can't think of anything else other than Baron; of how quick that you'd met him, and how quick that you'd lost him.

After a while, you snapped back into focus when the crowd of people started into a weak applaud. Only then did you realized that Hiccup had already finished his speech, your eyes darted back to the center when a new figure came up, Astrid was next, though you doubted she had much to say. A burly man, Gobber, you suppose that's his name came up after her. Then Ruffnut, who was completely hysterical, she wouldn't stop
crying and she kept blowing her nose into an already-soaking-wet tissue. And more people came after that.

"(Y/N)," you were interrupted from your trance when you heard Hiccup called your name: he was beckoning a hand over to the center. "It's your turn."

Oh god, it's your turn.

You took in a deep, deep breath and moved forward, cautious of your steps. When you've finally reached the center of the rocky shore, you felt your feet automatically root to it. You lifted your head up and were met with hundreds of staring eyes, some are red from all the crying, and some are plain, abandoned from any emotion.

You breathed in, Calm down, calm down, you're not trying to impress them, this isn't for them, this is for Baron.

Once you've gotten a hold of yourself, you parted your lips, and the words came out almost naturally, like the gentle fall of a leaf in autumn. "My name is (Y/N), and to be honest, I don't know what to say; Baron," you tried to choke back tears as you said his name out loud. "Was such an amazing person, he was more than anyone could ever give him credit for, he was misunderstood," your chest heaved; your breathing was ragged.
"He was broken; a tortured soul who, in 18 years, has never gotten the opportunity to be loved, to feel the warmth of a parent's hug, or to savor in the reassurance of a friend's company, because he was alone.

"Baron Haddock was a beautiful human being; everything about him was incredible; he was a living example of all the good that we'd ever known that had been destroyed by the dreadful lies and despicable monsters of this world. He was built to be this... this cruel, heartless murderer... he was so convinced that he would never be able to show even the most insignificant signs of weakness to anyone else, because he knew, he knew that his inner demons had already won the battle and they had slaughtered everything good in him. But," you glanced back at the ship. "He was wrong, he was still everything good in the world, he still knew how to care, how to love. His only flaw was that he had no idea how to receive it; he couldn't fathom the possibility of someone loving him, returning his love. It was all so foreign to him," you smiled a little. "He was bright, funny, and he had features that weren't humanly possible." Your eyes darted back to the people. "He was always so sincere, so honest, and I will never regret meeting him. He'd managed to change my whole perspective on the world, evil isn't born, it's made.

"And to lose someone like him, someone who was so young and whom still had his whole life ahead of him, a whole lifetime to change, to experience love and friendship," your eyes were stinging. "It is a sad, sad day for the world today; no one will ever replace him. And I know that he will not want anyone else to do so, because, he couldn't bear to see someone else go through what he's gone through all these years. I hope you rest in peace, Baron, and you will forever remain in our memories." You finished it off but not without adding one last whisper that only you could hear, and you hoped that he could hear you too... from wherever he is. "I love you, Baron."

The same weak claps erupted from the crowd of people once again and you weren't offended, because you didn't care, you didn't care if they liked it or not, you didn't even care if they had heard you or not, all you care about is that you'd poured everything out. You have given Baron a speech that contained nothing but your purest thoughts of him, and you knew, you knew that he would be proud of you right now.

Just as you were making your way back to your earlier position, you noticed Jack standing under a tree, a smug smile plastered on his face. Jack!
Where has he been? How long have he'd been here? Had he heard your speech?

But as you were about you approach him, you halted in mid-step; a familiar figure stood beside the winter spirit. They had brown shaggy hair... unmistakable emerald green eyes... and they wore a wide grin of their face.

It can't be...

"Baron..."
