Your breathing was ragged, your burning lungs desperately craving for air as you continuously ran across the deck of the ship. One of Marcus' arms was draped over your shoulder while the other was on Jack's. His men had spotted you three and were now racing towards you with weapons and vicious intentions.
"I thought you'd said that you'd already taken care of his men?!" Jack shouted to Astrid over the loud footsteps and excessive swearing of the soldiers that chased relentlessly behind you.
Astrid was panting also, her sword still gripped in her hand as she moved. "I did! Well, the ones on the deck only, there're probably more below the floors!"
You heard Jack let out an irritated groan and stopped abruptly, causing you to halt in your tracks as well due to the fact that Marcus' heavy arms dangling around two different shoulders.
"What are you doing, Jack?!" you yelled at him, beads of sweat dripped down from your forehead as the panic started to kick in again.
It took Astrid a moment before she'd finally realized that we'd both stopped. She was not pleased, her face was fire red, you didn't know if it were from all the running or that she was just really angry at you and Jack from risking their lives.
"(Y/N)! You and Astrid take Marcus back to the village, I'll stay here and handle these guys." Jack ordered as he pulled Marcus' arm off his shoulder and let it fall limply to the villain's side, you cringed vaguely at the weight added to your shoulders. God, why was he so freaking heavy?
Haven't he ever heard of going on a diet?"What? No! Jack, that's insane! You're being crazy! There's way too many of them for you to fight!" you protested, frequently glancing back to see the decreasing distance between you and the army of men.
"I know what I'm doing, (Y/N), just trust me on this, okay?" he said and gave you a swift peck on the cheek before running back to the direction of where the men were coming, preventing you from even muttering another word.
You stared at him, mouth agape as he swung his frosted staff up and what seemed like a strong force of wind blew towards the direction of the hurling men, making them either lose their balance and fell down onto their backs or pushed them against the wooden walls.
"Come on, (Y/N)! We have to go now!" you heard Astrid cried and felt the extra weight of Marcus being lifted away. She'd taken his other arm and began running again; you immediately turned away from the scene and followed her actions.
You had no idea how long it was, how long until the two of you had finally reached to Berk. It felt like hours, but really about ten minutes. But the sight of the village now wasn't something that would actually brighten your mood, the once beautiful, green land was now terrorized and burning.
All the people were running amok, their dragons flying wildly around the place. You snapped out of your terrifying trance when you noticed the weight on your shoulders had gone completely. Your eyes darted to Astrid who was hauling Marcus to the nearest (undestroyed) house then shoved him inside. She slammed the door harshly and sighed as she slide down the wooden door, exhausted.
You were just about to walk over to her, to comfort her, to do something. But a loud screeching noise filled the air and in a blink of an eye, your feet were lifted off the ground and the back of your shirt was being tugged and pulled up. You slowly turned your head to the side to see scaly, velvet red claws grabbing a hold of your shirt. A silent scream left your lips as you realized that a dangerous, carnivorous dragon had caught you. Its large, scaly stomach growled and you knew that you were going to be its lunch.
"(Y/N)!" you heard Astrid shouting your name from the ground below. You were at least twenty feet up in the air now, and you were scared for your dear life!
You tried calling for help, but you knew that it was useless; no one could hear you from up here. And even if someone did, they're probably having problems of their own being that Berk is being destroyed by ferocious dragons and trained soldiers that obeyed to Marcus' every whim.
Suddenly, you heard a loud booming sound which followed by another loud screech from the dragon above you. Then more booming and more screeching. You had no idea what was happening, but that didn't mattered when seconds later, the dragon's claws expanded and dropped you.
You really did scream this time, you were falling from a hundred feet from the air and you were going to die. You knew you were going to die.
But then you felt yourself being caught, not by claws but arms, human arms. You hesitantly opened one of your eyes to peek at your savior, you actually didn't even realized that you'd shut your eyes when the dragon had let go of you."I really didn't expect your 'Welcome back' greeting to be nearly as surprising as this." Your savior chuckled. And you didn't need another moment to figure out who it was.
