Jack shoved the door harshly, walking outside with a grim expression on his face. The door fell closed, swinging on its hinges.
'Jack wait!' You rushed to the door pushing it open. 'Hiccup will-' You never got to finish. There was a loud bang and red tinged your vision. The force of the bang registered on the tiny armory and you were sent flying across the room, smashing the wall with a force that would've broken your ribs if it weren't for your armour. Your vision blurred slightly before clearing and your eyes widened as the building blazed. Your ears were ringing. Your body felt broken. You felt your stomach doing flips with fear. The place was on fire.
You nearly screamed. Nearly. But a distant call for help stopped you. 'Help!' It must have been loud but you could barely hear it over the ringing.
Immediately your eyes fell on a Viking buried under a pile of burning wood. You scrambled to your feet, rushing towards him. The fire blazed on the wood as it rested on his leg, burning it alive. The Viking screeched in pain.
Without thinking you reached down, shoving the burning flames away from him. Heat and pain shot through your hands and you forced yourself to hold a scream. The Viking was withering on the floor, moaning in agony. You refused to look at his leg, afraid of what you might find. Instead you wrapped your arms around him. 'We have to do this together.' You groaned at his weight as you hauled him to his feet. 'Or we'll both die.'
The Viking nodded weakly.
Around you the armory was burning. You had seconds before it collapsed on you both. You hobbled towards the door, supporting the poor Viking with a lot of effort. Using your foot, you shoved the door. It didn't swing but instead fell off its hinges, landing on the floor. You stumbled, both of you falling to the ground. You and the Viking managed to crawl away from the flames, turning around just in time to see it burst into more flames, shimmer and then collapse.
'(Y/N)!' Jack's arms immediately wrapped around you. 'Are you ok!' You groaned as his hand brushed yours. Jack's eyes widened. 'Oh crap...' He mumbled.
'Have to... help-' You motioned to the Viking beside you. You stumbled to your feet. Jack followed you as you both supported the Viking as you started the long walk to the infirmary.❅ ❀ ❆
'What happened?' Jack demanded.
'You saw.' You bit your lip harshly as a nurse, or random Viking lady, rubbed cream on your hand. Immediately the pain eased to a gentle numb. 'The place was set on fire.' The woman wrapped your hand in a bandage. You nodded your thanks and she smiled and left.
'By why?' Jack asked. You didn't answer, instead standing back up. 'We have to get back out there.' You said, grabbing your dagger and strapping it to your side. You'd lost the sword but somehow the dagger had stayed with you.
'No way.' Jack said.
You raised an eyebrow. 'How could you stop me?'
Jack looked like he wanted to answer but he couldn't. Instead he sighed, standing up with you. 'I'm coming.'
You smiled at him slightly and then you both ran out the door.
Just stepping onto the streets was a disaster. It was like stepping into a movie. The war raged, dead and wounded men and women everywhere. Swords clashed, slicing through flesh and there was an undeniable sense of death.
'Oh my gosh.' Your eyes widened. You'd been too pre-occupied with the Viking to notice before.
'There!' Someone yelled. You and Jack jerked around, spying a man dressed in black armour. He raised his sword, yelling a curse and ran at you. You swiftly dodged his strike, kicking him in the stomach and running with Jack down the street in the opposite direction to the man.
'We have to find a way to stop the dragons.' You groaned as you ran, looking up at the sky as a whole different battle raged.
'Yeah but how?' Jack seemed desperate.
'I don't know.' You admitted. Please come back Hiccup.
'Get them!' Two more men appeared, one on your left and the other in front. You sprinted to the right, running down the street as the men followed you. 'Stop them!' The men yelled.
You rounded a corner and immediately skidded to a stop. A wall of some sort, probably set up by Marcus and his men, blocked the end You spun around, facing the way you had come. The men started running down the street, a massive grin on their faces.
'Jack.' You started slowly.
'Yes?'
You groaned. How had you been so stupid? Why didn't you see it before! You reached down for your dagger, drawing it. 'It's a trap.'
Jack's eyes narrowed. 'Shit.' He mumbled. You felt a large weight on your shoulders and then a massive net pinned you down. You struggled but found yourself unable to move as you shouted curses.
'Let us go!' You demanded. Around you there was a horrific chuckle. 'Perfect.' You caught sight of a man glaring at you. He wore a cloak under his black and gold around. The cloak was pulled over his head and around his mouth, showing on his dark eyes. Arrows were strapped to his back, bow strapped across his front as he clutched a magnificent sword. He smirked. 'Just who Marcus asked for.' He bent down, looking you in the eye. 'He has something special for you.' He tapped his chin thoughtfully. 'And it will be painful.' He stood up, glaring at one of his servants. 'Take them to him now.'
