The people of Berk were hysterical, running amok as the fire spread the village without cease. But you sighed, you couldn't take this anymore. Your body is exhausted and weak, completely lost of all energy that you had when you'd awoken in the morning, while your mind was swirling with infinite thoughts and mixed emotions that perplexed you more than you've ever been so.

How? How did everything get so messed up in such a short time? And why did Hiccup leave? He hasn't told you anything but instead had yelled furiously at you as though all this destruction had been your fault. You huffed and buried your face in yours palms, your feet halted and rooted to the ground. So, so many unanswered questions...

"(Y/N)!" you then heard someone calling your name, but it was faint, and you didn't know if it was real or just the exhaustion finally kicking in. But then it was again, but louder. "(Y/N)!"

You hesitantly lifted your face from your hands and turned around to see none other than the shaggy-haired boy whom you just had a terribly intense argument with. You scowled when he'd reached you. "What do you want, Hiccup?"

"Look, (Y/N)..." he gasped, his chest was rising and falling rapidly. "I'm... sorry..."

You didn't reply, but crossed your arms over your chest, unimpressed of his apology.

"I'm sorry, (Y/N)," he repeated once his breathing had calmed. "I'm sorry that I'd yelled at you, I'm sorry that I was unreasonably mad at you, I had no right to be mad at you... especially not after what I've done..."

"So, basically what you're saying is that you're apologizing for being a total jerk." You said, keeping your expression a sheet of blank as you did so.

Hiccup seemed to be lost for a moment, his eyebrows furrowed in slight confusion but recovered his composure quickly. "Yes... The point is, (Y/N), I don't want to lose you right now, not when I've already lost so many lives today..." he murmured then led his green orbs gaze up to meet yours. "I love you, (Y/N)."

At those three simple words, your heart seemed to skipped a thousand times faster now. You sucked in a deep breath as Hiccup raised a hand to gently stroke your dirty cheek, though he wasn't fazed by it. You wanted to say it back, you wanted to let him know that you feel the same way, but you couldn't. Because, do you really feel the same way about him? Was it an ever-lasting love or just a momentary crush?

"Why did you left...?" was what produced from your mouth instead of the three words that your mind and heart are currently fighting to claim the usage of.

The Viking sighed, letting his hand fall from your face and dig into one of his many pockets and pulled out something shiny and familiar... the Kamatayan blade!

"Wh-ho...?" you trailed off, too stunned by the presence of the dagger now in Hiccup's dirt-covered hand.

"I went back to the woods, you've said that's where Baron stabbed Pitch with it. But you never mentioned that you'd ever retrieved it." Hiccup explained. "We have to use this on Marcus, we have to kill him."

"But... doesn't the death blade cause long-term death...?" you asked, glancing from the dagger to him then back. "We need to take down Marcus right away."

"Well, if you strike the heart you would cause instant death," he stated. "So we have to get it directly in his heart. If we get rid of Marcus, we get rid of the killer dragons that came with him."

This time, you stared at him, your face shown bafflement. "What do you mean...?"

He let out another sigh as though this was all very tiring for him, and maybe it was.

"The dragons are linked to Marcus. If he dies, so will all the dragons."
