Sparks. In your stomach. That's what you felt as you looked into Jack's blue eyes. You felt a grin tug at the edge of your lips as you looked down at your hand as it pressed against the glass, so close to Jack's. And just like that Jack's hand was gone. You looked up in surprise and your eyes were greeted with the vast white landscape. You sighed, turning away from your window and trudging back towards your bed. You fell on it, glancing up at the roof as you cursed yourself for believing he was there. How could he be? You were in the middle of nowhere... And he never wanted to see you again! He had made that pretty clear... But you still couldn't shake the feeling that he was there. And that was the last thought you had as exhaustion overcame you.

When you were little you used to love playing with your dad, pretending to marry him.
"Do you, (Y/N) take daddy to be your husband?" Your mom asked, a huge smile covering her face as she listened to the laugh of your dad.
"Yes." You smiled, nodding vigorously.
"And do you, daddy, take our princess to be your wife?"
"I do." Dad smiled.
"Then I now pronounce you husband and wife." Your dad placed your mom's wedding ring on your finger before hugging you. Then he started tickling you, uncontrollable laughter racking your entire body as all three of you ended up on the floor, rolling around in a fit of laughter.
After a while you faced your dad. He smiled at you, running his fingers through your hair and down your cheek like he had so many times before. But then he paused.
"(Y/N)." He whispered, his face no longer happy. Your eyes narrowed. "Dad?"
"(Y/N), it's time to wake up." You mom said, just as worried.
"What?" You sat up, looking between them curiously. This was not what it was like when you were little.
"(Y/N), you're in danger." Your dad's eyes filled with fear. "You need to wake up!"
"What's happening?" You demanded, fear filling you. Your mum shrieked. "Wake up, (Y/N)!"

You jerked awake with a shriek, rolling off the bed and banging your head on the floor. Pain ripped through your head and knee as you groaned, rolling over.

"Ahh... so I see sleeping beauty is awake?" A dark voice came. It was a voice you didn't recognize. You pushed yourself up, grabbing the bed for support as your vision swam.

"Who are you?" You demanded.

"I thought you would know." The sound of footsteps was getting closer. Your vision was clearing and you looked up, eyes focusing on a hooded figure.

"Who are you?" You demanded again, pulling yourself to your feet and eyeing the man.

"Marcus." The man's voice was deep. He glanced at you, light shining on his face and bringing to your attention a jagged scar that ran down his face and across his left eye. You stepped backwards.

"No." You whispered, "I- I heard you talking."

Marcus smirked, pulling out a knife and inspecting it curiously. "Then you'll know that I don't want to talk." He looked up at you, smiling smugly, "I just want to kill you."

You moved away from his, raising your arms in a calming gesture. "Can't we talk about this?" You asked, voice raising an octave.

"What's there to talk about?" Marcus's grin disappeared and he took a step towards you. You backed up, back pressed against the wall awkwardly. He reached you, raising the knife to your throat. "You corrupted one of my best... Baron... he's in love with you, (Y/N)!" Marcus snarled, "I'm going to enjoy this!" He slid the knife across your throat, not enough to pierce the skin but enough to scare you. Marcus smiled, bringing the knife back.

And then he was gone. There was a loud crash and your shrieked, looking to see Marcus and Baron sprawled on the ground.

"(Y/N), run!" Baron yelled. A fist hit his face and he turned his attention back to Marcus. The two rolled, desperately trying to hurt the other.

You looked around frantically, trying to find a way to help Baron. You saw the knife. Running, you slid to your knees and picked it up, turning to see Marcus pinning Baron to the wall.

"I should never have trusted you!" Marcus screamed at Baron. Baron looked terrified, yet like he knew this would happen. Not letting Baron go, Marcus looked at you. "Put it down." He growled, "Or he dies."

You hesitated.

"Put it down." Marcus repeated. You stepped towards them, arms raised in surrender.

"Put it down!" Marcus shrieked.

"As you wish." You couldn't help the grin as you put the knife down. Marcus eyed you, frowning as his eyes showed his hatred for you. Your eyes locked with Baron. He nodded slightly. Without warning, Baron lashed out, kicking Marcus in the knee and sending him stumbling. You kicked the knife towards him and he picked it up, jamming it into Marcus's leg. Marcus screamed. Baron grabbed you and you both stumbled towards the door and out.

"What's your plan?" You yelled once you were out.

"My plan?" Baron huffed, "Honestly didn't think I'd make it this far."

You huffed. "Great." You muttered.

"Hey I did just save your life."

You nodded, still supporting him. "And know I'm saving yours." You stopped moving, turning to face the door. With all your strength you kicked it. It swung open on its hinges. Without looking, you rushed out, only to crash into something hard. You and Baron fell, sprawling in the snow.

"(Y/N)?" You heard the surprise in two voices.

"Who is it now?" You muttered, glancing at Baron. He was out cold from pain. You bit your lip, refusing to look at the figures as one grasped your arms and pulled you up.

"Let us go!" You yelled angrily, "Or I will make you."

"(Y/N)!" The voice said calmly. You fought to get out of the person's arms... and then you heard the familiar cry of a dragon.
