Assassin's Faith (Book 1: Where It All Begun) (Completed)

Chapter 1

"Sophia, hide in the closet and be quiet. Now! Hide and stay inside! Please, hurry up!!"

I don't know why my mom is crying and begging me to hide in her closet.

"Why mom?"

My mom gives me shiver because of her looks.

Like she's afraid of something.

Or someone.

When I didn't move, she walked away from the door to hold my arm and bring me inside the closet.

"Mom, you're scaring me."

Even i'm afraid I stay myself calm.

She wiped her tears and smile at me.

And she got something from her pocket.

It's a small pink box with a pink ribbon on top.

She gave it to me and I open it.

It's a necklace and the pendant is a crown ring coated with diamonds.

"Mommy?"

I was surprised and speechless.

She took it from my hands and she wears it around my neck.

"Did you like it?"

I nod.

"Yes, mommy. I liked it--oh no no no no! I love it!! Thank you, mommy!"

I hug her so tight and give her a kiss on the cheek.

And she did the same to me and I feel like it was her last hug and kiss.

But I erase that thought, that will not going to happen.

And again, she's crying, she hugged me again but this time, it's too tight.

She held my face and fixed my hair, then she gave me a long kiss on my forehead.

Then this loud noise behind the doo shocked me like someone is trying to destroy it, which made my mom stop and made her face very worried—and scared.

"Mommy, what was that?"

My mom quickly covered my mouth and 'ssh' me.

And again, another loud noise that made me scared this time.

"Mommy!" I whispered.

"Whatever happens don't make any noise. Don't come out here in the closet and close your eyes."

"Why mom?" I asked her.

The loud noises continue to scare me.

"Just do what I said!" She yells but in a controlled way, and I looked at my arms where she held me tightly and I almost feel her nails buried on my skin.

"O-Ok." I answered with my shaking voice. And before she covers me a blanket--

"Happy 5th birthday my Sophia. Bon anniversaire mon doux petit ange. Je t'aime beaucoup."

[Happy birthday my sweet little angel. I love you very much.]

Then she kissed me again while crying silently and sobbing.
