Guess what?! Okay, you can already tell what's up by my reaction but diary, you have no idea how happy I am!
So yesterday, after I handed Jun the letter and disappeared, we talked after school. Since my mom was late in picking me from school and Jun was lingering around the school, that gave us time to talk. Honestly, I really couldn't face him because of the letter and confession. But Jun casually sat down next to me as if nothing happened. He was giving me a big smile, a big grin, and I couldn't look at him in the eyes this way.
"Hi," he greeted.
I was feeling nervous and shy all of a sudden. "Hi."
"I read the letter," Jun said.
"Okay, okay. I know. I'm aware of what I wrote in that letter. No need to remind me of its content. I'm as embarrassed as it is." I was all shy again. "So, um, what's your answer?"
Jun chuckled next to me and suddenly pulled me closer to him. He even leaned closer in, his face near mine, and grinned. "What do you think my answer is?"
"I can't answer that. I need to know from you. You have to be the one who'll answer it. It'll be embarrassing for me." I bowed my head down and pressed my lips against each other. "So... what exactly is your answer?"
Jun leaned even closer in and whispered, "Yes."
I choked and shakily asked, "So... is this our day one?"
"To me, the first time we met was already considered day one for me."
I discretely pushed him away and ended up shyly smiling. "Mwoya? You're cheesy, Jun. But I'm glad that you still like me. I thought I was going to lose you or something. I was honestly scared."
Jun smiled and let out a hearty chuckle. "I would never leave you. I'm not one to easily give up." Jun threw me a wink. "So, how about hanging out at Lotte World this Saturday with me, girlfriend?"
I slightly shuddered. "That'll take time for me to get used to that."
Jun chuckled once more. "Get used to it, babe."
I shivered once again. "Oh my gosh, stop! I'm not used to it."
Jun grinned. "Yet."
"Remind me why I like you."
Jun shrugged and told me, "It's a charm of mine. Think of it as a gift from heaven to you. Aren't you glad I noticed you?"
"Hmm..."
"Well, you should be thankful you have great looks. I wouldn't have noticed you otherwise."
I stared at him. "Wow, you fell for the looks. Ouch."
"That doesn't mean I didn't stop liking you. Your personality was what pulled me in more." Jun threw, once again, another cheesy wink my way and I only unbelievably scoffed before turning away to laugh.
I can't believe after all I've been through, after all we've been through, we have finally reached this point. We're actually dating. I may not know what everything is like, how dating works but I'm willing to try with Jun.
It was a hard journey. It wasn't easy at all. There were so many ups and downs. There were so many confusions and probable tears. But in the end, all of what we've been through was to prepare us for this happy ending. We might not last for long, or forever, but at least we'll get to be each other's happiness for once. I'm hoping and wishing we won't last for too short. Everything was worth fighting for and I'll continue fighting, until the very end.
Because you were worth all my time, Wen Junhui.
The end.
~Author's Notes~
Yayyyy~ I ended this book! Let me just say that 90% of this story was based on a true story. Mostly Pineapple and Jun. Yes, Jun was based on a true character that your authornim faced and let me tell you, it wasn't an easy journey. This story started becoming fictional at the part where Jun and Dohui were on good terms and chat almost everyday and that Jun still likes her, despite everything.
I know, this story doesn't really have anything to do with mandus but I really like the mandu gig so I decided to keep it. Leave it be :') authornim likes mandus :')
Why is the situation called Pineapple? ; well, that was honestly the first thing that came into my mind while thinking of what to call it. Then I ended up thinking of a reason to why it's called pineapple. Like a pineapple, the outside is full of spikes and you can't just break it open with your bare hands. You need to be smart about it. You need tools. You need hard work to break it open. And once it's open, after the hard war, you're rewarded with a sweet victory. But you don't know the chances of you breaking it open. You might never get it open, never get to taste the sweet reward, and forever get hurt from the spikes. I guess that's why I called it pineapple.
