I almost lost it when I saw Perrie's eyes roll back and she slumped in her seat.

"Perrie?!"I gasped, shaking her shoulders softly. I looked at her phone, which had slipped out of her lap, but the call hadn't disconnected. I picked it up, slamming the phone to my ear.

"What the hell did you say to her?!"

I could hear a girl, Katherine, sobbing into the phone. "What-What happened?" she hiccupped.

I huffed, laying Perrie flat on her back with her head in my lap. "She bloody fainted, that's what."

"She what?!"

"She passed out! What did you say?!"

Her sobs only got louder. "Tell her to call me when she's better." The line went dead.

I stared at the phone in anger and finally decided waking Perrie up was more important. I used the A-B-C method she taught me, letting out a sigh of relief when I saw that she was still breathing. I blew on her hair gently, squeezing her hand.

"Is everything alright?" the cashier asked me, looking across the room at our booth.

I sighed and nodded. "She just got some . . . shocking news. She'll be fine." I began bouncing my knee softly, jolting her head until her eyelids began to flutter.

"Ja-Jade?" she whispered, squinting as her eyes adjusted to the light. I smiled, squeezing her hand again. I helped her slowly sit up, and she rested her head on my shoulder, taking deep breaths.

"What happened?" she croaked, scratching her head.

I chuckled and patted her thigh. "You fainted."

"Why?"

I shrugged. "You were on the phone with Katherine and you just sorta collapsed."

"Katherine . . . oh my gawd." She gasped, and her chest began heaving.

"What's the matter?"

"She's pregnant."

"Yeah. I though we established that."

She shook her head, as if she herself was still confused. "No. She's pregnant . . . with Zayn's baby."

I froze. The smile fell from my face and the color drained from my cheeks.

". . . Zayn," I repeated slowly.

She nodded, tears collecting in her eyes. "Zayn."

I rubbed my eyes, already exhausted just thinking about what could have possibly happened. "Well, she said to call her once you're feeling okay."

Immediately, she pulled her phone out and started dialing the number, but I put my hand out and stopped her.

"Oh no you don't." I plucked her phone from my hands and slipped it into my back pocket. I gently pushed her slightly melted cookie dough ice cream closer to her. "Eat first, then call."

She groaned, pinching the bridge of her nose. "I just can't believe this."

"How long has she been pregnant?" I asked, eating a spoonful of my chocolate ice cream.

She shrugged and shakily brought some ice cream to her mouth. "She said she found out a month ago."

My eyebrows flew up. "She waited this long to tell you?"

She sighed, wiping the shiny tear at the corner of her eye. "I don't blame her . . . I guess."

My heart broke. "It's gonna be okay," I murmured, pulling her into a bear hug. She buried her head into my neck, whimpering softly. I kissed the top of her head, rubbing her back reassuringly.
