When Jade had pulled up to the hotel, I was confused. Then when she explained we were going to the top, I could feel my mouth drop. Not only in anticipation and in excitement, but in disbelief at Jade. How someone could go so out of their way for someone they'd just met was beyond me. I was in awe of her kindness and generosity. All these thoughts were swirling around in my head when Jade offered me her arm, which I was more than happy with taking. Once we were in the elevator, I couldn't hold back and gave her a huge hug and thanked her. And you know what she said?
"You deserve more."
This girl was probably the sweetest, kindest, most generous person I'd ever met. At that moment, it was all I could do not to kiss her, but decided it was too soon, so I settled on hugging her one last time before stepping out of the elevator. The waitress showed us to our table and I almost fainted on the spot when I saw the view. I couldn't help myself. I ran to the balcony and looked down, enjoying the dizzy feeling. I could hear Jade laughing behind me. Frowning, I turned to face her.
"What'd I do?" I asked. I hoped I hadn't broken a rule or something.
"Nothing, I'm glad you aren't one of those girls with a fear of heights." I grinned at her, wiggling my eyebrows. She came up behind me and offered to take my coat. Obviously chivalry wasn't dead when it came to her. I swear, this girl got more perfect by the second.
The waitress came with our drinks, so I pulled myself away and sat down. She took our orders and I couldn't resist getting up again, just to gaze over the balcony. I closed my eyes, just breathing in the clean air. I could feel Jade join me a few seconds later. I didn't open my eyes, but I knew she was staring at me.
"Jade, I can feel you looking at me," I tease.
"I don't care, you're far more beautiful than any view," she answers seriously. I melt a little bit on the inside, but outwardly I just blushed. Her charm was hard to resist.
"Thank you," I whisper back, but I wasn't thanking her for her compliment, but for everything she'd done for me so far. I open my eyes to meet hers.
"You're always welcome," she replies, her chocolate brown eyes piercing my ocean blue ones.
The waitress comes in then, so we sit and eat.
I lean back in my seat, smirking at Jade.
"So, is this what you do for all your men? Wine and dine 'em until they can't resist anymore?" I ask, teasingly.
"That depends, is it working?" she shot back. I raised my eyebrows, and then laughed. I decided to take a chance.
"I'm not a man."
"Well, I do it for all my ladies too," she replied.
"Well then it's working," I said, simply. And that's when I kissed her. She froze, but then kissed back.
Now, I haven't kissed many guys, or girls for that matter, but kissing Jade felt so . . . right. Our lips molded perfectly together. Fireworks shot off in my brain and I felt tingles all over my body. It was all I could do to pull away. She leaned back, looking shocked but pleased. Then her beautiful smile was on her face and it stayed there. I smirked.
"Who knew shy little Perrie could be so . . . assertive?" she asked, her voice laced with disbelief. I shrugged and winked. We go back to eating.
I get a text. I murmur an apology, the check to see who it's from. I roll my eyes. Zayn. Back home, Katherine Spires and Zayn Malik were my two best friends. We did everything together. I'd had a crush on Zayn up until recently, but I'd gotten over it when he started dating some tramp. We remained best friends anyway, but lately, he hadn't been acting like a dick. He's always been protective over me, so naturally he flipped his lid when he found out I'd agreed to join the band. I'd been ignoring him for the day. He knew I had this date today; he'd been against it from the moment I told him about it. I turned off my phone and assured Jade everything was okay. After some more pleasant conversation, a thought occurred to me.
