Tom’s POV.
My aim tonight: Get really drunk and then get laid. Max didn’t approve, nor Siva and Nathan by the looks. They watched as I downed another two shots and looked over the club for someone to chat up. They all looked so plain, slutty or just not Arria. That’s the reason I seriously need to get laid tonight, because sure enough by the way Jay kept on going on about his moonlight picnic thing with Aria they’d be humping in a bush soon enough.
“Take it easy Tom,” Max said watching with frowned brows. I ignored the comment and took another drink.
“Are you sure you’re okay?” asked Nathan from his pint. You should know! You at least had the guts to kiss her! I think angrily.
“Fine, I just need to get my mind off things,” I say before pushing away from the bar and headed towards a girl who had been watching me for a while. Short slutty dress that barely covered what needed to be covered. It sparkled and shone a brighter silver with every-other light that hit the dress, she grinned and moved her hips side to side and pushed dirty blonde locks away from her shoulders. Some of it was tied up tightly in a bun and she had a naughty white smile. “Just need to forget,” I mumble as I place a hand on her hip.
…Arria’s POV.
So he blindfolded me, yeah he blindfolded me. “Come on Jay this isn’t funny,” I insist squirming in my seat. He laughed,
“Don’t you trust me not to take you into some creepy garage in the middle of nowhere?” he said in his adorable accent. I’d fallen more in love with his voice every time I heard it.
“Maybe I don’t?” I joke trying to nudge him, but I couldn’t find his shoulder. The perks of being blindfolded.
“Well we’re nearly there,” he said putting an arm around my shoulder. I sighed and folded my arms,
“Might I remind you that I know Kung-Fu,” I say smirking.
“You don’t know Kung-Fu,” he argued.
“Yeah, but I’ve done kick boxing,” I say in defence.
“Yeah?!” he said sounding suspicious.
“Well…” he laughed, “I did it for a little while, but I got kicked out,”
“Kicked out of kick boxing?” he said as I heard the car start to slow down.
“Yeah…”
“How did you do that?”
“I got in a fight with the instructor…” I say bitting my bottom lip. “And he… he kind of kicked me out when I beat him,” I say satisfactory. “Turns out he’d never done a proper lesson in his life, but I still beat him!”
Jay laughed and then I felt him pull me towards an open door. “Can I take it off now?” I ask moving my hands to my eyes. He took hold of them and pulled me up to a stand, I heard the ruffle of clothing as Jay must have pushed down my skirt for me. I blushed.
“When will you be coming back?” I heard the deep gruff voice of Big Kev say.
“We should be back by 2?” Jay said. I felt a little shocked; when we left it was probably 9? Now it was probably 10ish. I wonder what we could be doing. I heard myself think and blushed more.
“Right, I’ll be here. If you have any problems…”
“I know, don’t worry. Arria knows Kick Boxing!”
“Kung-Fu sounds better,” I insist as Jay put his hands on my shoulders and walked me down a stony path. “Can I look now?” I ask after a moment.
“Nope,” he replied with a ‘puck’ noise at the end.
“How about now?” I ask when I felt the stone turn to grass.
“Nope, there’s a step up now,” he said and I took an unsteady step up and then another and then another. A cold breeze blew past and I shuddered.
“If we’re on the edge of some cliff I’m going to throw you off when I find out,” I threaten. He laughed,
“Oh well then in that case, step to the left would ya?” he joked. “Okay one more step,” he said and I stepped through into mid-air before throwing my elbow back to his gut. He dodged it with no more than a scrape. “What?” he said, “I think it’s cute when you’re clumsy,” he said into my ear. I got shudders down my spine and I came to stop.
“Are we there yet?” I ask and there was a silence before Jay laughed. “Did you just shake your head and then realised that I had a blindfold on?” I ask.
“Yeah, come on,” he said and I felt him take hold of my right hand and move forward. I took cautious steps forward.
We walked like this for what seemed like five minutes, maybe ten. It was really quiet, a low hum of traffic from the city still remained. Then he came to a stop and his hand trailed across my shoulders and to the back of the blindfold,
“Ready?” he asked.
“Yes,” I reply taking a deep breath in and then out. He slowly undid the knot and moved it away from my eyes. “JAY!” I say with a sharp gasp in. It was perfect. We were on a small grassy hill above LA yet far enough away to get a sky full of stars. On the grassy slope rested a picnic basket and a blanket laid down, in the middle was a small candle.
“Do you like it?” he asked and I turned to smile at him. I jumped up and kissed him,
“It’s beautiful Jay,” I say when I pulled away. He still had his arms around me tightly. After a moment of watching his sparkling blue eyes I took his hand and ran over to the blanket.
“I hope you haven’t eaten,” he said when we got there. I pressed myself in close to him as he pulled out the basket. “And hopefully you like strawberries,” he added. I grinned,
“Who’d you talk to?” I ask and he blushed.
“Maggie called…” he said and I laughed before finding myself staring at his eyes again.
… Jay’s POV.
Of all the things she could be possibly be looking at she decided to stare into my eyes like they might vanish any moment, like they were a book she had to read before it crumbled into dust. The star and candle light sent silver and gold red shadows across her face and her hair was a deep auburn that framed over her small face.
“I love you Arria,” I found myself saying and saw as her eyes flickered and she looked down to the grass before meeting them again.
“I love you Jay,” she whispered back and I let my hand go to cup her cheek. I loved how I felt so strong to her. I lent down slowly, my eyes going from her lips to her eyes and felt my heart race harder and harder. She’s so beautiful, I think as she leant in and placed a hand on my lap. I couldn’t help but think of her placing it further to the right… She moved herself closer to me and we kissed. It went from long smooth movements to an urgent want, she kicked her leg up and I lifted her onto my lap. She pulled away breathing heavily before she whispered in my ear. I felt my heart beat faster as she pulled away and lifted her top.
