One Direction Preferences

He meets your parents for the first time

Niall: "You're so nervous" you laughed, glancing away from the road and over at Niall. "I can't help it! I want to make the best impression. It's my first time meeting your parents, I really don't want to mess this up" he sighed, smiling lightly and playing with his hands. "Niall, if I love you, my parents will too. Don't worry" you smiled as you pulled up outside your childhood home. Seeing the house made your heart skip. You missed home, but you were nervous too. Niall didn't get out of the car right away, and you knew you needed to put on a brave face for him. "Come on snuggle bear" you laughed, sticking your head in your open the door. He smiled and got out. Your mom must have heard you pull up, because she was coming down the drive way with a huge smile on her face. "Y/N! Honey, it's so nice to see you!" she called, running to give you a hug. You hugged her back, and you were so happy to see your mom again. You felt at home with her arms around you. She pulled away to get a good look at you, and you saw your dad coming down towards you. "You look so good honey" your mom said, before your dad muscled in and gave you a hug. "I missed my little girl" he said, and you hugged him back. "Missed you too, dad." Through all this, Niall just stood at the car, waiting for you to introduce him. "So, mom, dad, this is Niall" you said, taking his hand. Your dad stuck out his hand and smiled. "Nice to meet you" he said warmly, and Niall shook his hand. "So nice to meet you honey" you mom smiled, and gave Niall a hug. Your mom took you in, her arm around you, telling you all the new things going on. Meanwhile, Niall and your dad hung back a little bit. You went in and sat at the table with your mom while you waited for your dad and boyfriend to meet you. You waited a good ten minutes, before you started seriously wondering what was going on. "I'm going to go check on them" you said, getting up. Your mom took your hand. "Let your dad do his thing, he wants to feel Niall out" she smiled, sympathetically. You nodded and the door swung open. You could hear Niall laugh as he walked into the kitchen, which was a good sign. You all sat around the table and chatted before you all decided to sit and watch TV together. Niall's phone rang, and it was management, so he needed to step out. "So, what do you think?" you asked as your heard the door close. "I love him. He's cute and funny and very respectful. You know how to pick em" your mom laughed. You smirked, then turned to your dad. "I had a good talk with him. He cares a lot about you. Just remember that" he said, and you nodded. "Thanks dad" you said, and he nodded back. The door opened and Niall walked back in. The call was nothing, and you two enjoyed the end of the TV show before you decided to leave. You hugged and kissed your parents goodbye, and Niall hugged your mom and shook your dad's hand. "So, how do you think that went?" you asked as you pulled away from your parent's house. "Really well I think, your dad gave me a talk" he smiled. "Yeah what was that?" you asked curiously, looking at Niall then back at the road. "He just wanted to make sure I had the best for you in mind. It wasn't bad or anything" he said, and you rolled your eyes. "So secretive" you said, ruffling his hair. "It's a guy thing, I'll do it for our kid one day" he smiled, and you smiled at the road.

Louis: You were driving through the streets of London with Louis. He was at the wheel, and you were fixing your hair. "How are you feeling?" you asked, flipping up the dashboard mirror. "Imagine you're about to tight rope over a pit of gators in your underwear, that's how" he said, smiling slightly. "It won't be that bad!" you said, laughing at him. You and Louis were going to pick up your parents from the airport. Even though you and Louis had been together over a year, he had never met your parents. He was nervous, and you were too. You had made a great impression with Louis's family, and you hoped your parents would like him as much as you did. You two pulled into the airport parking lot and got out. You brought the tray of coffee and teas while Louis carried a sign that said 'Future In Laws'. You thought it would be funny, and your parents had a really good sense of humor. You waited at arrivals in anticipation. "Do you think they'll like me?" Louis asked, and you had never seen Louis so serious. People started flowing out of the gate. "They'll love you" you smiled, kissing his cheek. You saw two familiar faces and you smiled widely. They spotted you, and came rushing over. You lightly put the drinks on the floor and put your arms out. Your mom ran into them, and you felt tears rush to your eyes. "Mom, I missed you" you sighed, and you felt her crying too. "Nice sign" your dad laughed, and you saw him shake Louis's hand. You didn't want to let go of your mom, but you wanted to say hi to your dad. Your mom pulled back and your dad came over. "Hi sweetheart" he smiled, pulling you into a one armed hug. "Hey daddio" you laughed, hugging him back. "So nice to finally meet you, Lou" your mom said, hugging Louis. "You too" he smiled. "Are those for us?" your dad asked, pointing to the drinks. "Yep, Louis got them" you smiled. "Good man" your dad laughed, as he took a sip of his drink. You all headed for the car, and Louis was cracking jokes and making your mom and dad laugh. They were staying at a hotel, so you decided to head there. You drove, and Louis and your mom and dad talked about who he was and what his life was like. Louis talked about being in One Direction and his family and everything else. You pulled up to the hotel and got out to help your parents with the bags while he parked. "I love him!" your mom said, putting her arm around you. You smiled, "Me too!" You looked at your dad, and he shrugged. You could tell he wasn't sure yet. You dropped the bags off in the room, and came back down to Louis waiting in the car. The four of you went out to dinner and walked around London, where Louis showed them all the sites. You were having so much fun, laughing as Louis cracked jokes and pretended to be a tour guide. Your parents laughed too, and Louis made the whole thing so fun. You dropped Louis at your flat before taking your mom and dad home. Your mom gave you a kiss before going in, but your dad lingered. "I like him, he's a good boy. He makes you happy, and that's good enough for me" you dad said, kissing your forehead. "Thanks dad, your opinion means a lot to me" you smiled, hugging him. He waved as he headed up, and you called out to him saying you'd be back tomorrow morning to spend time with them. As he went out of sight, you did a little dance before driving home to tell Louis.
