Everything Is Okay?

Mia's POV

As I was walking away Tanner asked me, 

"So why did you come to my house, instead of going to yours?" he asked.

"Well I mean think about it, if someone knows where you live and they are trying to kidnap you or something, would you go to your house. I wouldn't, so I remembered where you live so I just drove to your house" I explained.

"Damn girl you're brave" I chuckled and blushed, I was so happy Tanner was with me through all this, I mean he took time out of his busy life, just to make sure I was okay. I think the only way I could repay him is to become friends again I meanwhile we were waiting, he apologized for being a bad friend back then and I forgave him, so I guess we are friends again. 

Anyways me and Tanner are walking out and he helps me to his car. A white 2010 GTR, almost like mine but it's newer and blue.

"So how ya feeling?" Tanner asked while looking at the road. 

"Fine just my eye hurts. Hey can we get some food? I haven't eaten since school" 

"Yeah, I was just about to say that!" We both started to laugh.

 "Where should we go?" he asked. 

"Hmmmmmm. I'm thinking pizza, we haven't had that in forever" Tanner chuckled, when we were young, whenever we had money in our little hands we would spend it on food.

"Remember candy land?" I asked Tanner. 

"How could I forget. We bought a bunch of candy and hid it in your attic. Next thing we knew it was literally a candy land".

 "It was one of our other special places other than the rock" I smiled to myself thinking of all the good times. I was lost in memories and didn't hear Tanner say we are here, so he nudged me and said,

"Yo earth to Mia. We're here!" I snapped out of thought and smiled. Tanner got out first and ran to my side and opened the door for me, and held out his hand.

"Why thank you good sir!" I said bowing. 

"You're very much welcome m'lady!" We both laughed and walked into the pizza parlor. We ordered one cheese pizza and waited for our food. After we ate we left to go to his house, to but my things there. 

"My mom is gonna be thrilled when she sees you, you know right?" He said smiling. 

"Yes I haven't seen her in forever. How's Kirby? The last time I saw her, she was just a tiny puppy". 

"She's good and she's a lot bigger now" I laughed and grabbed my phone, chargers, laptop, clothes, my blanket, and some pillows and headed towards Tanner's house. We finally got there and I walked in. I totally had forgotten what this place looked like, I mean it looks (ha 666 words) exactly the same but I couldn't remember, it's been a while. 

"Tanner is that you?" His mom said.

 "Yeah. And I have a guest" His mom walked in, and she looked like she barely recognized me.

 "Mom. This is Mia. Mia Lambert" He said smirking. 

"Oh my god, Mia I haven't seen you in forever! How are you?" She hugs me and I hug her back.

"I'm good how about you?" I asked. 

"I'm great! It's so good to see you!"

Tanner told his mom why I was staying but didn't say what happened. She was totally fine with me staying. When I walked into Tanner's room I saw Kirby and she immediately jumped up and licked my face as I bent down to pet her .

"Hi Kirby. Wow, you're so soft and big!" I petted her and Tanner said, 

"Hey, she likes you more than me!" he pouted.

"Haha! Can you help me up?" He nodded and held his hand out, I took it and he slowly pulled me up, but I tripped when I was almost up and as I fell he fell down with me,

"Ow!" We both looked at each other and started bursting into laughter.

"I think I'm just gonna stay on the ground," I said. 

"No you can't, you need sleep," he said smiling, he chuckled and picked me up. Then all of the sudden a phone went off. It was mine because it was a custom one of my favorite songs which is SUBURBIA by, Troye Sivan. Tanner grabbed my phone and gave it to me, and I answered.

"Hello?" I asked.

"Hello sweetie this is a grandma. I've been trying to reach you all night but you haven't been picking up" Her sweet voice came over the receiver. 

"Oh hi grandma sorry I was feeling well today so I slept most of the day," I said lying. 

"Well I really didn't want to tell you this on the phone but.... grandpa has passed away" I could've sworn my heart stopped, and I had no emotion what's so ever. 

"Oh.... when did this happen?" That's all I could say "Last night around 1 am" She said sadly

"Oh okay. Well thank you for telling me grandma, when will his funeral be?" I asked, almost in tears.

"In a few days so come here soon!" she exclaimed. 

"Okay, grandma. I love you. Bye!" I hung up and just looked at my hands.

My grandpa died, and I didn't even know why. My family is so screwed up that no one told me anything. I have two moms and one dad so I basically have three families so it's hard to stay in touch. But my grandpa. My only grandpa died. 

I had no emotion what's so ever. I couldn't feel anything I just sat on Tanner's bed staring at my hands. Tanner walked in and asked me what was wrong. 

"Mia? Mia! Hey, what's going on? Are you okay? Who called you?!" He seemed very concerned. I think that he thinks Leo called but I blocked his number.

"M-my grandma. My birth mom's mom. S-she just t-told m-me that my grand-p-pa died the last n-night" I stuttered. 

"Oh geez, Mia I'm so sorry! How?" I looked at him and said,

"I don't know"
