Mia's POV

It seemed like forever ago when Leo threatened me. Then he beat me, then he got arrested. And now they finally have scheduled a day to go to court to prove him as guilty or not. I sure as hell hope he is guilty, I have the scars and a video to prove it. Tanner is finally home, but he has to rest. He will be coming with me to court. Then we have my dad who is guilty that he didn't even need to go to court, the finger prints on the gun, the cuts on bruises on my face and body, the beer bottles, witnesses. Everything. He is put in jail for 70 years, by the time he gets out, he'll probably be dead. Good.

I'm in my room reading over my speech and evidence for court. I worked so hard remember all the things he's done to me. Let's just say that it's a lot of evidence, I have the scars to prove it. Yes he gave me scars. He cut me on my leg once with a knife. I have medical records too. Every time I went to the hospital after I got beat and after he threatened me were all in there.

That asshole is going down.

I have to dress fancy so I'm wearing a gray dress with heels. Tanner's mom was driving us. I didn't have an family with me so I guess Tanner's family is mine. I was biting my lip the whole time, I do that when I'm nervous. What if he isn't found guilty? Will I just have to live in fear? Tanner snapped me out of my thoughts when he shook me "Hey we're here" I smiled at him and got out the car. Tanner was recovering very fast. He can walk on his own he might just need helping getting up and stuff. He had a scar, it's by his rib cage on his right side. It's very noticeable but not for long. I grabbed his hand and we walking into the court house. We got into the court room, and they brought in Leo who was in an orange jumpsuit and his hair was a mess. He looked at me for a quick second, then looked away. The judge came in and everyone sat down

"We are all here today to find out if Leonardo William Jacobs is guilty of abuse, and threatened to blackmail and hurt his ex-girlfriend and her friend. We have his ex-girlfriend here to tell us the truth. Mia dear will you please stand up and come here" I stood up and walked over to the judge "This poor girl is here to tell us what happened while she was with Leo. Mia go on tell everyone what happened" I smiled at the judge and looked at everyone.

"I started dating Leo in the 8th grade. I am a junior now I'm high school and not to long ago I broke up with Leo. When we first started dating Leo seemed like a nice, caring guy but boy was I wrong. One night me came over to my place furious. He thought I was cheating on him which I wasn't. And he was accusing me. Next thing I know he slapped me. Very hard. He told me if I ever did anything to hurt him again he would hurt me, possible kill me. The abuse kept on going on, and I tried so hard to not show my bruises and cut. By the time of 10th grade I had gone through more than 30 bottles of concealer. One night he tried to forcefully have sex with me. I hit him with a glass bottle and it broke over his head, making him pass out. I ran home and cried the whole night, and on top of that my dad would be beat me, I was bullied, and I didn't really have friends. Then at the start of junior year me and my old best friend Tanner were paired up for a project in school. After school I went to the beach and just sat there. Then Leo came and knocked me out, I woke up in his bed and he came in. He talked to me, and threatened me and said "If you ever go near Tanner again, you will regret it" He let me go. I got my car and drove to Tanner's house because I knew if I went to mine Leo would find me easily. I told Tanner everything, and he took me to the police station, where I told a detective and they sent the police over there to get him. By the time they got there he was gone. Here are my medical record. All the times I went there to be treated were the times I was beaten. I have scars to prove it. One on my leg and one on my back from him hitting me with his belt" I gave the jury me medical records and all of them looked at it. "This man was a monster. He then later found me and beat me again, but thankfully my boyfriend Tanner and his friend found me. That's how he got here" I stopped and looked at everyone and took a deep breath.

"If I was still with him to this day, I would be dead. And that's all I'm saying, I think Leonardo William Jacobs should be found guilty and be arrested" Everyone clapped and I walked back to Tanner "That was amazing. You kicked ass girl" I laughed and kissed him cheek.

After a few minutes the judge was done talking to the jury. "The jury and I have come to an conclusion. It's obvious if we let this man go he will continue to hurt this poor girl. He almost jeopardized her future. I think we all ca agree on this. Leonardo William Jacobs have been found guilty and be arrested and put into juvie immediately" She banged the gowel on the wood and a sense of relief washed over me.

I was finally free.
