Nightmare

Mia's POV

We just got back from the wedding and I can't stop staring at my moms ring... I should get in the habit of saying my ring, considering now it is my ring. I am beyond happy right now. I mean we will have to wait a year of two until we actually get married, but I am perfectly fine staying as his fiancé.

A lot of people think I'm crazy considering we are only 17, but you know what? When you have a love, so strong like mine and Tanner's, nothing seems crazy. I'm lying in bed, and I want to wait for Tanner to get out of the bathroom so we can cuddle. And right on cue, Tanner opened the bathroom door, he's only in his boxers which are normal "You're still awake?" "Well I would like to cuddle with my fiancé!" I said smiling because of the word "fiancé" He laughed and walked over to my bed. He got onto the bed and put the blanket over us. I moved next to him and put my head on his bare chest "I can't believe we're engaged" He said "Me too, but honestly we all knew it was going to happen sooner or later" He laughed and kissed my head "I guess you're right" I looked up and kissed his lips "I love you" "I love you too" He said smiling. I cuddled closer to him and slowly felt myself drift to sleep.

What a day...

I woke up. But not in my bed, I wasn't even in my own house! What the hell happened, I don't know where I am. I got up and walked around, I was in a house, it feels so familiar and I don't know why. I walked upstairs and went into the first door I saw. When I opened it my heart stopped.

This is Leo's room. Why am I here? HOW did I get here. Where's Tanner.

I walked more into the room, when all the sudden the door shut and Leo was standing in front of it "It's been a long time sweetheart" "I'm not your sweetheart!" I clenched my fists. He frowned and walked over to me. He grabbed my shirt and pulled me to him and started yelling at me "Why did you go to Tanner? We could've been together, forever. Not you and him, you're mine and always will be. Once I'm free you're the first person I'm seeing and it won't be a happy visit" He punched me in the stomach and slapped my face. I fell to the floor, and my vision was getting cloudy and the pain worsened as he kept on kicking me. Then it stopped, I looked up and my vision cleared and all I saw was something metal in front of my face.

A gun.

Oh god, not this again, this can't be happening. Where's Tanner?

"What did you do to Tanner?" I asked angrily "Don't worry about him. You'll see him soon" I started to feel the tears in my eyes. He killed Tanner. Didn't he? "Just do it, put me out of my misery if that's what'll make you sleep at night" "Then that's what I'll do"

A bullet clicked in the chamber and I closed my eyes. After everything it's all just going to end. I can't live without Tanner. "I'm so sorry" I whispered.

Bang.

I shot up in my bed, gasping. I was breathing heavily, and Tanner woke up and comforted me as I cried into his shoulder "Are you okay? What happened?" "I-I had had a, a n-nightmare" I managed to get out "Do you want to talk about it?" "It's like every nightmare I have, they always have to deal with Leo. God why can't he just leave me alone?!" "Because you fear him, and that fear will never go away. He hurt you, he broke your heart, he never treated you like how any girl should he treated. And it's okay to be scared of him. But just remember he's locked up. He's in juvie, all the way in Maine. Far away from here, I doubt he'll come here anytime soon" I nodded and kept my arms wrapped around his body, and my head on his shoulder "Lay down with me" He said while slowly leaning back. I leaned back with him and just stayed there.

It was quiet and all you could hear was our breathing. I feel safe now, I mean I've always have but whenever I have a nightmare, tanner is the only person that can calm me. He makes me feel safe, he has that effect on me. I slowly started to fall asleep and Tanner pulled me close and whispered in my ear "Remember, I'll always keep you safe, and I'll always keep you sound" (comment if you get it) I gave him a small smiled, and slowly fell back asleep to these words.

You're safe as long as you're with him. You're safe. You're safe and sound in his arms.
