Confronting Peyton

Mia's POV

After we got home from prom, Hailey was crying and I had no idea why "Hailey are you okay? What happened?" "Pey-Peyton!" "Peyton what?" "He, he cheated on me!"

HOLD UP?!

HE DID WHAT?!??!?

"He cheated on you? He's dead, he is so dead. Is he still in San Diego?" She nodded her head, I turned and looked at Tanner, and he looked pissed. Jaw clenched, hands in fist so tight his knuckles turn white "I'm going to change, then we are going to find, and I'll give him a piece of my mind, this is the last time he hurts you and gets away with it" I ran up the stairs and into my bedroom. I slammed the door and took off my shoes, then I took off my dress. I took off my earrings, and bracelet. I changed into a sweater, jeans, and my converses. I took off some of my makeup and walked downstairs "Alright Elissa you stay here with Hailey and comfort her, Jake, Tanner, and me are going to Peyton's, I'm giving him a piece of my mind" As I walked over to get my keys, I saw something on Hailey's cheek "Hailey? What the hell is on your cheek" I said angrily "Um" "He hit you? Didn't he?" She slowly nodded, and I got even more mad "He's so freaking dead" I said to Tanner "Calm down a little bit, let's go" I nodded, I walked over to Hailey and gave her a hug, then I walked over to Elissa "Please keep her company, try and take her mind off of all of this, like watch a movie, eat junk food, etc, just please don't talk about Peyton or any boy stuff" "Trust me Mia, I won't. Peyton's such an ass" "I know. Thanks for staying with her" "No problem, now go" She said shooing me. I got my keys and phone and walked out the door. Jake is taking his car, and me and Tanner are in mine. As I was driving Tanner said "I can't believe Peyton, Hailey's such a nice girl, why would he d something like that?" "Because Peyton is a no good piece of crap, I should've never let them be together, I had a bad feeling about it" "It's not your fault Mia, none of us thought that Peyton would do this again, especially hit her" I nodded and my hands gripped the steering wheel harder "Calm down please" Tanner said "How can I? The boy my friend loves, just cheated on her, and hit her! How the hell can I calm down?!" "I know, just don't do anything you will regret" "Trust me, I won't regret what I will say to him"

We finally got to the hotel he's stayed at. I had to pretend that I needed a room, but only for one night. Once we got to our room I talked to Jake and Tanner "Alright so I'll knock on Peyton's door and I will be the one to go in, while you two stay outside-" "No, that's not gonna happen" Tanner said "If he sees you two in the same room, he isn't going to talk, he will be scared, and if he tries to escape you two will keep him there. I'm not doing anything bad to him, I'm just going to talk to him, if anything gets out of hand, I'll call one of you, or I'll shout, you two should be able to hear it" Jake nodded and Tanner just shook his head "Fine" He finally said "Alright, let's go" We all walked out of the room and got into the elevator. He was on the 6th floor and we were on the 2nd. Once the elevator doors open Tanner took my hand and we all walked to his room "Alright room 56A" I said "You guys go against the wall so he doesn't see you" "Please be careful" Tanner said "I will, don't worry" I gave him a peck on the lips, and him and Jake went against the wall. I took a deep breathe and knocked on the door. I hear shuffling, and Peyton opened the door.

He looked a mess.

Red eyes, hair a mess, I sort of felt bad for him. No don't feel bad, he hit your best friend, no good son of gun. He stared at me "I'm not going to hurt you, I just want to talk" I said in an annoying tone, he nodded and said "Is anyone with you?" "Tanner and Jake are in the car in the parking lot, but they aren't in the building. But try anything, and they will be" He opened the door wider and stepped out of the doorway. I stole a glance from Tanner and winked, then walked in. I closed the door behind me, and Peyton sat on the bed. I stood in front of him, and we stayed silent for a seconds but I couldn't take it anymore "Why? Why did you do that to Hailey?" "I don't know!" "Oh, so you don't know why you cheated on her, then hit her. Wow you are so smart" I said in annoyance. "Why did you cheat on her? She is the most loyal, caring, and sweetest person I know, and you know that too!" "She said she wasn't ready, but I love her so much and I know I am, I just couldn't wait!" I stood there in disbelief "If you really loved her, you would've waited, and not have wasted on some random girl!" I raise my voice at him "I thought you were the one for her, you hurt her once shame on you, hurt her twice you're dead meat!" I said, he looked up at me "I was being nice, and let you go the first time you hurt her, but you aren't getting away with it this time, especially because you didn't hurt her emotionally, you hurt her physically. Which no one should do!" "You think I did it on purpose?" He said standing up "Well you did cheat on her, so luck isn't on your side right now" "I would never hurt her on purpose" "Then why did you do it!" I screamed at him "I don't know!" He yelled back. He put his hands in his hair and kept on repeating "I don't know". I got a text, it was from Tanner.

"Peyton, you need to talk to me" "Mia, I already said I don't know why I hurt her. It was heat of the moment, I was mad, and I don't know why!" "Peyton.... I think something is wrong with you" He just nodded "I think so too" I just sighed "Is it okay if I let the guys in?" "Ya" He just sat down on the bed.

Hey, you guys can come in, he's calmed down, just sad.

Alright.

I heard a knock at the door, I walked over to it and opened it for them "He's just sitting on the bed" I said to them. They walked in and over to Peyton. We all just sat down until Tanner talked "Peyton, you know you can talk to us right? You really scared Hailey" "I know, I think something is wrong with me" "Do you like need to go to a therapist or something?" Jake's asked "Probably. I never wanted to hurt Hailey, I wasn't even paying attention to what I was doing until Hailey started running away, it's like I wasn't even conscious of my actions" I nodded "We'll help you get better Peyton" "Thanks guys" Peyton said "Do you think you'll be okay here?" He nodded "Okay, we're gonna leave, don't do anything stupid, just rest, we'll talk tomorrow" "Okay, bye guys"

Jake drove back to my place, while me Tanner got food for everyone "Well today was eventful" Tanner said "Yeah" I said "Come here" He said with his arms open, wanting me to hug him. I smiled and walked over to him, I wrapped my arms around his waist, and buried my head in the crook of his neck. I sighed and Tanner said "Do you know how much I love you?" I smiled
