I thought he was okay..

Tanner's POV

I woke up to Mia's phone ringing. Who the hell is calling at almost 1 am? I carefully move over her, trying hard not to wake her up, and grab her phone. I look at the caller I.D., to see its Hailey, I pick it up

"Hey Hailey"
"Tanner can you pick me up, I'll tell you later"
"Okay I'm coming"
"Thanks!"

I hung up Mia's phone, and gently woke her up "Mia? Babe? Wake up" She groaned and turned to look at me "What's up?" "The sky" She stuck out her tongue and said "Really what's up?" "Hailey just called, she asked me to pick her up" She had a confused look "Why?" "She said she'll tell me later" "You want me to come with?" "No, stay here and try and go back to sleep, or just wait for us till we get back" She nodded and I got out of bed. I went to the closet, and got out sweatpants and a shirt. I kissed Mia goodbye, and walked to the garage. I opened the door and got into the drivers seat. I started my car, and the garage door opened. I backed out of the garage and drove to Hailey's.

I texted Hailey saying that I was here. I was on my phone when I heard shouting, and the car door open. "Hailey, please forgive me!" Peyton yelled at her. She got into my car and closed the door "Go" She said, I put my car into drive and drove away, leaving Peyton in the dust.

Once we got back to our house, I helped Hailey with her bags. I opened the front door, and Mia was on the couch watching tv, but turned her attention to the door when it opened. Hailey walked in, and gave Mia a hug "I'm sorry if I'm intruding guys, I didn't plan any of this" Mia rubbed her shoulder, reassuringly and said "No, Hailey you aren't intruding. What happened?" She took a deep breath and said "Well, today I was with Brayden, he used to go to our school, we played basketball and just hung out like the good ol' days. But when I got home Peyton was pissed because he thought I was cheating on him. We got into a fight and... he..." Mia finished her sentence with anger "Hit you?" Hailey looked down and slowly nodded. My blood was boiling, what is wrong with this guy? Like seriously!? I wouldn't ever lay a hand on Mia, or any girl to be exact. I thought he was okay... My fists were clenched and I started walking towards the door, but was stopped when Hailey grabbed my shoulder "Tanner no, he isn't worth, just please no more drama tonight, i just want to sleep" I took a deep breath and nodded, she smiled at me.

Mia's POV

Hailey just went to sleep but me and Tanner stayed in the living room "He was doing so well. Hailey said so" "Maybe he was just faking to be okay, so that everyone would stop worrying" Mia nodded and rested her head on my shoulder "No girl ever deserves to be hit or treated that way. Especially Hailey, she's so sweet, but then this asshole comes around and hurts her" Tanner was drawing circles on my hand with his thumb "I know, I feel so bad for her" I sighed. I really don't understand. Like really, he said that he would never hurt Hailey again, and here we are. Hailey is staying in the guest room, probably crying herself to sleep, me and Tanner are pissed, and Peyton's the one alone. I don't see what Hailey sees in him, like she has such a kind heart, and I know she hates seeing Peyton upsets trust me, I hate seeing Tanner upset too, but when that person physically hurts you, it's different.

I thought he was okay. I thought it was okay that Hailey can be around him. I thought wrong. Poor Hailey....

I yawned and closed my eyes "Babe if you're tired then let's go to bed" "But I'm so comfy!" I heard Tanner laugh, and felt him get up. He put his arm under my knees, and one on my back, and slowly lifted me up "You know, I'm
not very strong, but you're really light" I laughed unconvinced "Liar" "I'm not lying, seriously you know I'm not strong! I have upper body strength but, you're really light like how much do you weight? Under 160?" I really didn't know, so I just shrugged, and snuggled my head into the crook of his neck. He walked into our room, and gently laid me on the bed, but then laid on top of me. His head was by my heart, and I started playing with his hair "You know, I really like it when your hair is long, and is sticking up" I could feel him smiling "I know you do, I like it if you like it" I just shook my head "I love you baby" I said while kissing his forehead. He looked up at me and smiled "I love you too princess" I smiled at the nickname "Why princess?" "Well I'll call you princess until we have a daughter, then you'll be queen" I laughed "And what makes you think we'll have a girl?" He shrugged "I don't know, I just got the feeling. What about you, what do you want our first child to be?" I made a thinking face "Hmmm. I kinda want a girl too. But it would be nice to have a boy, and then a girl because than our son will be protective of his little sister" Tanner smiled "That's adorable. Well he will have to be protective over his sister, because she'll have your good looks, and our son will get all the girl from my charm" I laughed "Dream on" He pouted "Come on. How many kids do you want?" "3" I smiled. Tanner smiled and leaned up, while I leaned down, and we kissed. I laughed "Goodnight love" We both got comfortable and I started to drift off to sleep "Goodnight babe, I love you to Pluto and back" He kissed my forehead and said.
