A/N: just telling y'all, Mia and Tanner are both 20 years old, and Nevaeh will be turning 1 soon.

Mia's POV
8 months later (big time skip)

One more month until Nevaeh's birthday! I'm so excited, but sad because I don't want my baby girl to grow up.

Nevaeh has almost started walking, but she hasn't gotten the full hang of it. Mary has visited a couple times, and she's brought Danny with her too (A/N: Mary and Danny are her step mom, and step brother)

I was just cleaning the dishes when my phone rang. I turned off the sink, and dried my hands. I grabbed my phone that was on the island counter, and looked at the caller I.D. It was an unknown number. I didn't recognize the number, but I didn't know if it was someone I knew that was trying to reach me, so I answered the call.

Hello, is this Mia Marie Fox?

Yes, who is this?

I am officer James from the Juvenal Correctional Facility in Maine. I'm calling you because one of our inmates Leonardo Jacobs. His warrant for his arrest has been reconsidered. And he is going to be going to court, if he's proven guilty, he will go to an actual prison because he is no longer a minor. But if he isn't proven guilty, he will be set free, but there will be a restraining order placed against him.

Oh no, not Leo. I can't deal with this, especially if he isn't proven guilty, I don't want to live in fear.

And- um when will court be?

September 1st.

T-thank you for telling me Officer James.

No problem.

I immediately hung up the phone, and held back tear. This isn't happening, I never thought I would have to deal with him again. I have a family now, and I will have to be even more protective, especially with Nevaeh. I have to go to court, and I need to prove him guilty. He needs to be sent into prison. I know I seem like a coward, but do you blame me? After all the stuff he's done, I would expect him to be angry with me, and want revenge for sending him away. I need to tell Tanner.

I put my phone in my back pocket, and walked to mine and his room. Once I got to our room, I knocked on the door "Babe? You asleep?" "No, I'm awake, you can come in" I opened the door, and walked inside "Hey Tanner" Tanner got off the bed, and walked over to me with a smile "Hello my lovely wife" He cupped my cheeks, and pecked my lips "What shaken' bacon?" I laughed "I need to tell you something important" Tanner's expression changed from happy, to worried "What happened?" He grabbed both of my hands, and held them in his own. I took a deep breath "Well, I just got a call from the Juvenile Correctional Facility in Maine. Leo's warrant for his arrest has been reconsidered, and I have to go to court on the first of November to prove him guilty or not" Tanner's expression changed again to anger "Why the hell was his warrant reconsidered?" "I guess he has been cooperating, and they think he can be released into the world" "And are you buying that?" "Not a chance, I know he was faking, he's good at that stuff" Tanner let go of one of my hands, and sighed. He put his free hand on the bridge of his nose "I can't believe this is happening" He whispered "Me neither" Tears started to well up in my eyes. Tanner looked at me with sympathy. He wrapped his arms around my waist, and pulled me against my chest. I started crying, and he was kissing my forehead, and whispering sweet things to me "Shh, Mia it's okay, you'll be okay, as long as I'm here" I calmed down. I hugged Tanner tightly "If you keep hugging me like that, I won't be able to breathe" I laughed and wiped my eyes. Tanner cupped my cheeks, and smiled at me "You'll be okay" "I know, I'm just worried that he'll find us, and bad stuff will happen. I don't want to live my life the way I used to" Tanner looked down "I know, that's the most thing I'm worried about. But I promise you, that with ever fiber of my being, I will protect you and Nevaeh, whatever it takes, I won't let him lay a hand on you or our daughter" I smiled at him, and kissed him on the lips passionately "How did I ever get so lucky?" "I have no idea" He said sarcastically. I laughed and hugged him again.

I felt so much better. I know Tanner will keep his promise, whenever something happens that has any way of harming our family, he will do anything to keep us safe, I couldn't be any more thankful. I love him so much.

The thing I'm worried about is what I'm going to say, or course I'm going to have to be a witness, I'm the reason why he was sent away. I gotta think of something completely amazing. Maybe I should say about how I'm afraid for mine, and my families life, it's the truth, I'm scared of what'll happen if he gets let out. I gotta prepare.
