Okay, so I kind of turned Flash into the bad guy for the sake of this oneshot. In all honesty, I actually really like Flash's character and would have preferred not to lay all the blame on him. However, I felt it was necessary for the story line to have a 'teenage anatgonist' so to speak, rather than an offical villain for Spiderman.

When you had woken up this morning, you had expected it to be a regular school day at Midtown High School. Nothing abnormal had occurred to suggest that anything significant would happen later in the day and you had gone to school without a care in the world.
Now, as you stood surrounded by a crowd of people in the school hallway, you wondered how you could have been so wrong.

"What is your deal, Flash?" you exclaimed loudly over the quite remarks from your classmates. Your boyfriend, Flash Thompson, stood opposite you, his face scrunched up in anger.

"My deal?" he burst out. "What about your deal? Why are you so clingy, Y/N?"

"I am not clingy," you fired back angrily, stepping towards the furious boy. "I wanted to spend time with you, that's all! Isn't that the normal thing that couples do?"

"Well, I'm not normal, Y/N," bellowed Flash, his voice so loud and power full you took a step back. "I am way past normal! And you need to respect and do what I want if this relationship is ever going to work!"

You shook you head in disbelief. "You know what, Flash, you're right. You aren't normal. You're a arrogant moron who does nothing for anyone unless it benefits himself. I don't know why it took me so long you see that!"

Flash's eyes glinted and he advanced on you.
"Don't you ever - !"

"What?" you cut him off, matching his advance. "Call you a moron? Well, guess what, Flash, I can call you whatever I want because we're done."

Flash blinked. He looked slightly stunned by your words and you suddenly got a strong desire to laugh. Spinning around, you began to make your way through the crowd and down the hallway, heading towards the doorway of the school. At that moment, the last thing on your mind was lessons and you just wanted to go home.

"Hey!" Flash yelled, trying to push after you. "Don't you dare walk away from me, Y/N!"

"I just did," you yelled back, making a point to slam the door behind you as you left.

Everything was quiet in your apartment when you returned home. Both your parents were out at work so you had the flat to yourself. You knew that your mother would probably flip when she heard you had skipped school, however, you didn't particularly care. There was only one thought dominating your thoughts and that was what had just gone done between you and your now ex-boyfriend.

Going straight to the fire escape outside your window, you sat down on the metal grating and leaned your chin on one of the rails, looking out over your street.

Had what you had done been worth it? you thought to yourself as you weighed out your options. Being with Flash had made you absolutely miserable, there was no doubt about that. He was self-obsessed and arrogant, hardly ever taking time to think about you. However, once upon a time, you had feelings for him, which was what had got you into the situation in the first place and he couldn't be all bad if you had actually been able to like him. Right?
