"Wait, Y/N?"

"Yeah?"

"Will you be my girlfriend?"

You lay tiredly on your back, your eyes fixed on the plain ceiling above you. Around you your room was dark, the only light streaming through you window from an orange street lamp outside. Your curtains weren't closed and the rest of your apartment was also bathed in darkness, but you didn't get up to switch any lights on.

No, you were way too busy reliving the events of your evening to even think of that.

You had been out with Tom ... on a date. Not just hanging out - a real date. Your stomach swirled with excitement at the memory.

The pair of you had been on a few dates since confessing your feelings for each other over three months ago. However, nothing else had happened.

Until tonight.

You remembered the way Tom had driven you back to your apartment after going to see a movie. The windows had been open since it was a warm night and your hair had been swirling in the breeze created by the car's movement. Tom had looked over at you, a smile on his face and his eyes sparkling as he watched you laugh.

Your skin tingled as you remembered the way his hand rested gently on your thigh as he drove.

You could honestly say your feelings for the boy had grown tremendously in the past few months. You loved spending time with him, you loved the way you could tell him anything, you loved the way you could be yourself without him judging you. It was a feeling you had only ever felt with one other person in your entire life.

So when you had hopped out of the car and were about to go inside, only to have him stop you, your heart had been beating frantically.

You blushed as you lay in the dark, a silly smile growing on your features. His eyes had been dark, full of an emotion you couldn't describe, and it had filled you with nerves, anticipation and ... a weird feeling of hunger. For him.

His hands had slid down your arms to settle on your waist as he looked at you. It was then that he had asked the question.

"Will you be my girlfriend?"

A sigh left you as you remembered the feel that filled your entire body as he had uttered the words.

The kiss the followed was nothing short of breathtaking.

With your forehead leaning against him and your fingertips gently touching his jaw, you had smiled as you felt his heart pounding just as fast as yours where your chest was pressed to his.

"Yes."

You rolled over, unable to banish your smile. Even now, almost half an hour later, you still felt giddy.

It couldn't have been more perfect.

Finally, you pushed yourself up and off the bed. After flicking on the bedside lamp that sat next to your bed you walked over to the window and drew the curtains across the cool glass.

You couldn't have been happier.

But then a twinge of ... something flickered through you. Regret? Hurt? Sadness? You weren't sure.

But you knew what was causing it. Harrison.

You frowned as you thought about your friend. You hadn't seen him since that night three months ago. He refused to answer your calls or texts and every time you tried to go over to his apartment, he was out.
