You sighed on frustration as you stared down at your test paper. A 'D'. A big fat D. And you had spent so much of your weekend studying for this test.
"I'm disappointed in you, (Y/N)," you teacher said as she walked past. You nodded dejectedly and sat back, running a hand through your hair.
"If I were you, I would seriously start thinking about a tutor," you teacher continued. "I'm sure some of the other students would be willing to help."
You looked up at her. Though you had never been a fan of tutoring, if you failed chemistry you would most likely be held back. Your grades had been slipping recently and you were struggling to get them back up.
"I'll think about it, ma'am," you said quietly.
Your teacher nodded. "Good. I would recommend Mr Parker, he has tutored students before and now they are all getting top marks."
You gulped, your eyes widening. Peter Parker. Definately not your first choice.
You and Peter had a ... complicated history. You had a started out hating each other. Then hate had turned into love. You dated for six months before splitting up. But not before he told you his secret.
Since the break up, things between you had become you had become very awkward. You were pretty sure that, apart from you, only Peter's best friend, Ned, knew what he did every afternoon after school.
"Um," you said, pursing your lips. "Peter and I don't have the best ... history."
Your teacher raised an eyebrow. "I supposed I could ask Flash."
Your eyes widened slightly and you hastily shook your head.
"On second thought, Peter's fine."

You scowled deeply as you sat on Peter's bed. It was 3:45 and you had come over to Peter's for the tutoring session. Your teacher had spoken to him about it and he had supposedly said yes. However, he was fifteen minutes late and you were seriously starting to consider going home for the night.
Your eyes traveled slowly around the messy bedroom, taking everything in. The last time you had been in here was when you had decided to end the relationship. It hadn't really changed much, apart from the lack of your hoodies that you always used to leave scattered across the floor.
As your gaze travelled around the familiar surroundings, you felt your throat beginning to tighten. The back of your eyes burned and you hurriedly wiped them with the back of your hands.
You missed Peter. There was no other way to put it. You missed the time you spent together, the study sessions, the long hugs, the tentative kisses, the comfortable silences. You missed everything about him.
Suddenly there was a small thud and then the window began to slide open from the outside. You recoiled, shrinking backwards onto the bed only to let out a small sigh when Spiderman climbed in.
He didn't seem to notice you as he stealthily crawled across the ceiling towards the door. After quietly closing it, he dropped down to the floor, his back facing you, and pulled off his mask. You gulped as Peter's brown hair came into view and silently prepared yourself as he began to turn around.
As soon as Peter saw you, he froze. His brown eyes were wide and as yous at Red at him you couldn't help but marvel at how deep they were.
"(Y/N) ..." Peter said slowly. Realisation dawned on his features and he ran a hand through his hair.
"Listen," he started. "I'm so sorry. There was this guy robbing a stroke and I kind of got distracted. I promise, I was-"
"It's ok, Peter," you said slowly, getting to your feet. "If it isn't a good time, I can come back tomorrow."
Peter hastily shook his head, pressing the Spiderman logo on his suit. As it loosened and fell off him, you couldn't help but gulp at the sight of his muscles.
"No, no, it's ok," Peter said, pulling a large sweater on.
"We can still do some work if you want."
You hid a chuckle as he struggled into his jeans, almost falling over in his haste.
"OK. But ..." you pursed your lips, "there is actually something I want to talk to you about."
Your heart thudded loudly in your chest and you were quite surprised that Peter couldn't here it. You didn't know where the words you had just uttered cane from, even though they were true. It seemed almost as though your brain was no longer in control and you were now at the mercy of your own heart.
Peter looked at you with wide eyes. "Um, ok," he said uncertainly, moving slightly closer. You ran a hand through your hair before slowly standing up.
"Peter ..." you started, trying to think of the right words. However your mind was at a complete blank, the only thing that came to mind being far too blunt to just blurt out. However, it seemed your body had other ideas.
"Did you really mean it when you said dating me was a mistake?"
Your eyes widened at your own word but you didn't back down.
Peter stared at you for a second before letting out a long sigh. Reaching up, he ran a hand through his hair. You watched him silently, dreading his reply.
"(Y/N)," Peter started slowly. You raised an eyebrow at him, urging him on.
"Yes," he said slowly and you felt your heart sink.
"Because ... I took you for granted. When we were together ... I never really realised just how much I love you. It was only when you said that it was over that I actually saw how much I need you on my life."
You stared at him in absolute shock. Peter hurriedly ran a hand through his thick hair again, looking determined.
"So yes, (Y/N)," he continued. "It was a mistake dating you because always having you so close hid how I feel about you and I don't want that."
As he spoke, you took a few steps towards him. Your eyes stayed fixed on his face. Finally you came to a halt, about a foot in front of him.
"Are you saying that yous till have feelings for me?" you asked slowly. Peter let out a dry laugh.
"To out it mildly," he said, his voice rough.
"So you're really saying-" you negando but Peter cut you off.
"That I love you, (Y/N). I think I have for a long time but I just couldn't see it."
You leaned forward, a small smile playing at your lips.
"Where did all of that confidence come from?"
Peter let out a shaky breath, his fingers playing nervously with the help of his t-shirt.
"I have no idea," he said weakly. You giggle quietly, taking yet another step forward. You were no so close to Peter that your noses were almost touching.
"I like it," you mumbled quietly before your lips met in a passionate kiss.
It had been so long since you had kissed Peter buy it still felt completely perfect. His lips were soft against yours, warm and comforting.
Slowly, you pulled away, your eyes remaining closed. Bowing your head forward, you leaned your forehead against Peter's.
After a relatively long and comfortable silence Peter cleared his throat.
"So," he asked, slightly uncertainly, "are we dating?"
You chuckled. "Technically, you never asked me."
Peter smiled, pulling away to look into your eyes.
"(Y/N), he said solemnly but with a twinkle of laughter in his eyes. "Will you be my girlfriend ... again?
