At the late night hours of the city was everybody sleeping with the exception of (Y/n) that once again went down the streets after have been spending her time in the gym.
Normally you trained in the late hours of day, about the time when school finally released you. But since your last meeting with your boyfriend's bodybuilder gang, had you done your best to avoid them and instead sought comfort in the punching-bag at the gym in the night where it was desolated and you had it to yourself. Not like you were scared or anything. Yeah, you came up in fights and arguments. Yes, you picked at the losers in school. True, you had a short temper sometimes. No, you wasn't the smartest or the one with best marks in school, but even so all that, then you wasn't a complete idiot. You knew when you were outnumbered. And just like in the alley, then you knew when you were in a fight you couldn't win.
Actually you not only had avoided them, but your boyfriend too. He acted normal as usually, with him taunting the smaller students up against the lockers and pushing them around, but after what (???) had said, you were in doubt with him.
Making your way through the city you finally arrived at the right building. You went upstairs till you reached your apartment, opened the door and entered. Your parents and the twins was most likely already asleep a long time ago. Going into the kitchen you snapped an apple out of the fruit bowl and made your way to your room. Passing one of the room you stopped up and peeked inside to a small children-room Toys fleeted everywhere on the floor.
These kids, you thought. Never learning to clean their stuff. You entered the room quietly and started picking one toy after another up and put it to place till the floor was all clean. Then you looked over at the two small beds there were separated up against the wall. You went over to one of the beds and covered the toddler there were lying in it with a blanket.
You smiled of your little brother's sleeping-face: drooling and cute....not at all similar to yours. Your smile faded and instead you sighed. You turned to your second little brother's bed. Neither was his face close to your features. You kissed both their foreheads and left their room heading to your own.
You entered your room, took your shoes off and dropped your stuff on the table, before you let yourself fall in to bed arms crossed behind your head and eyes closed. Every time you looked on your brothers or in real terms half-brother, you were reminded of that awful day when your life turned around.
A couple days after your 16 years birthday you overheard your parents after dinner talking about you. You didn't know the exact details, but you had heard enough to confront them. You remembered clearly your mom's tears and your dad's apologizes as they told you, you were adopted. As they had explained they had found you in one of the orphanage-houses just as a baby and had decided to take you in as their own. Growing up not knowing anything, your mother had given birth to a pair of twin boys you had called little brothers the last 8 years.
They hadn't told you anything before your 16th birthday, but now you knew. The family you had wasn't really yours and wasn't even related to you. Of course your little brothers didn't know anything about it, and if you had anything to say: you'd make sure it stayed that way, as they were your last memory of the time you were ignorant.
A light breeze brushed over your cheek and you opened your eyes looking around your room. The light in your room was still turned off and everything was as they should. Door locked and your window shut.
You sighed and closed your eyes. "Don't you know sneaking in to a girl's room in the middle of the night could bring misunderstandings?" you asked out in the air. No one answered.
"I know you're there, so why don't you show yourself already," you kept on.
For a time your room was all silent, just till a quiet chuckle filled it. "You're observant," a voice said.
Opening one of your eyes barely, you saw the shape of a tall person standing beside your bed. Shrugging it off you closed your eyes again. "Neither a chicken I see," the person added.
You opened your eyes and sat up in bed, facing the before seen giant turtle in front of you. This was none other than the turtle that had helped you beat your boyfriend's gang up a couple days ago. He was leaning up of your table nonchalant with arms crossed.
"I guess you have come to murder me with the weapons of yours," you said nodding to his belt, eyebrows raised. "Or maybe you're even so noble letting me have a last wish granted."
He laughed . "Missy if I wished you dead, you already would have been in a coffin now."
"I suppose so," you said and leaned up of the headboard of your bed. "You wouldn't be much of a hero if you helped me out just to kill me after anyway."
"The heroic-stuff is my brother Leo's thing," he huffed.
"Yeah?" You yawned as if the whole conversation bored you. "What's your thing then big guy? Beating people up or perhaps creeping into girls rooms is more you?"
Maybe you were really funny tonight or maybe you had something on your face, because for a third time on under an half hour you had made this guy laugh. And an even more surprising thing, then you didn't hate it. When you saw him smile you for some reason felt like smiling too.
"The first thing was close," he smiled. "But listen kid, why don't you drop the tough act? It's not like I'll go tell anybody you have a girlish side to you."
You jerked up shocked. "Wha..." your attention was suddenly only at him, now he wasn't so tiresome, more like suspicious. "What would you know?! How do you know where I live anyway? Did you stalk me?!"
"Will ya calm down?" he asked as if it wasn't a big deal. "I got me a purple trustworthy sources...And if I should be honest then you aren't the hardest to follow."
"Creep!" you snapped at him. "If you hurt my family..."
Interrupting you, he unfolded his arms and pushed himself to his feet. "Woah, no need for the threats princess. Let's just get one thing clear, I'm not a bad guy, I'm only after you."
He was the one helping you a few days ago, without even reason to. He hadn't asked payment for it either, so maybe he was trustworthy? You didn't know for sure, but when you looked at him, green, armed and all, he seemed rather cool. You hadn't experienced either before someone laughing at your harsh words like it was nothing and still being in your present so casually. Not even your boyfriend.
"Alright then," you sighed finally after a while, "mind telling me why you have chosen to pay me a visit?"
Took a step and sat down beside you on the bed. "I just wanted to make sure you kept your word." he told. "My existence is your and my little secret."
"What? That's all? I haven't told anyone." Truth to be said you had thought about it earlier at the day, but had decided not to. Yeah, you picked a little on the younger student's at your school, but you weren't a snobbish telltale as so many other girls. When you said something you meant it and when you say you won't, then you really won't.
"Let it stay like that and you and I won't have any troubles." He smirked as he continued and stood back up. "But be warned. I'll keep an eye on you. If you tell anyone, I'll know and scary things will happen, so don't."
Whether it was a threat or a joke you weren't sure of, all you knew was now that you had a green dude watching you. You laid back down on your bed as you had did first. "Fine, but if you anyway are planning on still stalking me, could I at least get name? Or Big Creepy Guy you may prefer?"
"Whatever you say missy." He went over to your window and opened it up, letting the cool breeze sweep inside the room.. "The name is Raphael. You have one too?"
"Raphael...hmm," you repeated as if to taste the sound of it, Tough guy, tough name. "(Y/n) (L/n),"
He send you a smile. "I see. A pretty name for a pretty girl. See ya around (Y/n). "
And with the parting words with a blink of an eye, he was gone out of the window, leaving you wide eyed and looking after him. He called me pretty, you thought as the last thing, when the tiredness finally took over you
You would never have imagined the watching guy, would change your life completely.
