I'll let you know beforehand no update next weekend, because I'm running out of inspiration to Christmas themed chapters.

There'll be two updates though the weekend Christmas Eve is, so I hope you look forward to that ;)

After had been on the surface to buy some supplies, you returned to the Lair with a large bag in your arms. Leo had meditated at the time you left, so instead of asking him to join you you figured you'd just leave him alone till you came back.

When you got out of the elevator you could feel your arms had started feeling numb as the bag, for its small size, actually was really heavy. You heard steps approach and looked up to see Leo smiling at you.

"Welcome home," he greeted you and kisses you on top of your head. Noticing your bag he reached out for the bag like a gentleman and you let him hold it for you.

"Thanks," you said, a smile forming on your features.  "I hope it didn't take too long. There was a collision at 5th Avenue and..."

Your words came to a halt and your smile crumbled aa you saw over Leo's shoulder; a red-haired woman a couple years older than you, approached you casually. Your puls increased dangerously, while your heart began beating painfully in your chest. Her eyes met yours and she waved friendly

"(Y/n)?" Leo questioned by your sudden change. He turned around, realizing what has stopped you. "Oh I'd understand if you're wondering. (Y/n) this is April."

"M-Ms. O'Neil," you stuttered much to your blue-masked Turtle's surprise.

"Hello again sweetie," she replied, not really seeming to hear you stutter. "It's nice to see you're all well."

Ms. O'Neil, or April as Leo called her, was one of the shop owners you used to visit when you still were under your uncle and aunt's dictation. She knew her rather well as she often would cheapen the prices when you bought anything in her shop. She was nice and all, but what was she doing in the Lair? And why did Leo seem to know her?

Your insides wrung in uneasy as unconscious assumptions appeared in your mind. Was Leo cheating on you? But he wasn't that kind of person. Or was he? Had you done something wrong? Were you about to be replaced? A lot of different thoughts ran through your head, but none of them were positive.

"She just came when you left and told me she as well as her boyfriend Casey already have met the rest, so she stayed a little longer to see whom my special one would be." Leo told.

You breathed out relieved inwardly. The fact she had a boyfriend herself removed some optioms. But still, had they been alone together since you left?! What had happened while you were gone? Did Leo like elder women perhaps? Was April cheating too in case?

It was hard, but you forced a weak smile back on to your face and shook her hand. "I-It's mutual."

While your thoughts was running wild a new theory came to mind. She could be a ex-girlfriend of Leo. That could mean they weren't cheating at all, but still it meant they had been a couple before. That just added to your list of worries. They spoke relaxed with each other like they were really close.

Suddenly you were pulled out of your chain of thoughts as April spoke to you. "So (Y/n), you managed to escape your 'parents'? Leo did tell me what terrible things they did. So horrible. You live here now?"

"Y-Yeah," you replied. The doubts were killing you from the inside. You couldn't small-talk like this. Not while feeling insecure about what was going on. "Can I ask? H-Have you and Leo been a...an item?"

You looked neither one of them in the eye, but by the silence there followed you could easily tell they were shocked. Or at least till they began laughing. You snapped your head up to see Leo blush and April giggle.

"No, no no. Don't you worry if that's what you're thinking," she replied smiling at you like what people do when they see a baby do something so obvious that it's cute.

"April is more like a big sister," Leo added and smiled at you wryly, before hugging you around the waist. "Besides you're the only person for me, (Y/n)."

Still you felt like dying. Not because you were unsure whether or not there had been anything going on. No, now you just felt like digging yourself down due to the embarrassment there was swallowing you whole. You blushed deeply and was about to apologize when there conversation from earlier carried on. Leo still held you by the waist.

They saved you from further awkwardness. But you'd forever remember this as one of the most embarrassing events you had been in.
