The beautiful thing by being the girlfriend of a hyper, easy-going, ninja turtle, was that you never knew what to expect. This could both be a good and bad thing, but this time it however leaded to something heartwarming.
Not having planned anything, neither talked about it, your simple meeting with Mikey this day, became your first date ever. You already had spend the most of the day together, but neither you nor Mikey found it enough.
"I don't want to leave you, (Y/n)," Mikey suddenly stated, looking up from the comic-book you both read in.
It was already getting rather late, but you just smiled at him. "I don't either want you to, but..."
Interrupting you, he gasped and put the comic away grabbing your hands with his own. "I know! Please go out with chica," he requested closer to you than usual. "Let's go on a date, so we can spend more time together."
Basically same color as a tomato, you looked at him wide-eyes due to the suggestion there had caught you off guard. You heart began pounding in your chest, hard enough for you to fear it would jump out.
"I know where we should go," he told lightening his hold in your hands. His expression went from cheerful to a incredible soft one. "We've known each other for months now. I want to show you what you mean to me..."
"O-Okay," you replied flabbergasted. "I..I want to show you my feelings too!"
He grinned at you brightly, and before you knew of it, barely even dressed into proper clothing for the chilly air, you were out of the window with Mikey as your guide. You ran in and out of alleys through out the town to make sure no one saw you.
When you finally stopped, you breathed out heavily making a a white cloud of haze appear in front of you. It took you a few minutes to completely could act normally again. As you exhaling and inhaling seemed to have calmed you, you finally noticed where Mikey had brought you.
It was a small, but nice ice rink lighted up by hanging light. Even though the ice rink was empty, ice skates in various sizes stood out at the railing ready for use.
"Mikey..." you spoke up going closer to your destination.
Gesturing for you to follow, he grinned. "The ideal place to have fun as a mutant turtle without the big risk of people seeing you."
"That's amazing." You followed him over to the ice skates, where he found you a pair and handed to you. You giggled as he did a effort to find some for himself, since it wasn't exactly easy to find ice skates for a three-toed turtle.
While putting on your skates a silly sneeze, sounding like kitten's, found it's way out in the dark. You sniffed a little, shuddering in the way too little jacket you had put on.
The sneeze was about to repeat, when you felt the soft fabric of a thicker jacket, wrap around your shoulders. When you looked up, you saw MIkey gazing at you, this time jacket-less as he else had been wearing before.
"We can't have you getting cold," he commented winking.
You giggled, snuggling closer to the fabric, before you hand in hand with him went out on the slippery ice. It took quite the effort to stay upright, but somehow you managed without your butt touching the cold ground.
The first while you skated around, you stumbled several times backwards, just to be grabbed by MIkey. Again and again your heart skipped a beat, when your body was supported up on your own feet once more.
However as soon you had gotten control over your balance, you danced at the ice like a ballerina on the dance-floor. Not coordinated, but still beautiful. You spun around proudly, grinning to Mikey, who watched you with amusement.
You stopped up beside him leaning up at the railing. "This was a great idea Mikey."
"Of course! All my ideas are," he chuckled. With a swift move, he lifted you up by the waist and placed you up at the railing. "Let me show you some tricks too, alright?"
He tucked his jacket closer around you, making sure you were comfortable, before he did his way out to the center and bowed to you overacting. You clapped solemnly and he lifted his head up, a cheeky smirk forming its way over his face.
HE started out with a simple cartwheel, perfect without even slipping once. But as his warm up became serious business, his trick got wilder and wilder...at least from what you really felt like bragging with.
One jump, one aerial, another quadruple and a new twist once again. All his moves was swift and out of all really impressive, though you noticed every time he landed at the ground a furrow appeared, cutting its way down in the ice.
By first glance it seemed coincidental how one furrow became to four, but Mikey didn't seem to care much as he continued his skating. You clapped every now and then, counting the weird grooves as simple accidents.
At some point Mikey stopped his doings and bowed once again towards you, before he grinning slid to your side, gesturing out to the rink. "You liked my gift?" he asked hopeful.
"Yeah, you were really amazing," you supplied.
"Huh?"
"Hm?"
"Huh?" he repeated, obvious confusion bathed his features. "Amazing? What..? No! No no, not my skills chica. We're talking about my gift." This time you were the one to be puzzled, clueless what he meant.
As answer he took of your skates and helped you stand at the railing, though you weren't much for it. At first you didn't know what reason you had to stand there for, but when you got a overview of the rink, you with wide eyes suddenly knew what Mikey had meant for you to see.
You knelt down at where you were standing with a tearful smile filled with happiness. You hugged him around the neck, earning a kiss on the cheek from him. "I love you too," you got out half choked by joy, half choked by tears.
A soft kiss landed on your lips, and nothing could've made your first date more memorable. The clean cut out furrows from the turtle in question's skates shone in the dim light. Permanently carved into the ice behind you, three words was shown: "I love you".
