Donnie's POV
My conversation with (Y/n)'s parents for the first time, hadn't exactly gone smoothly nor left a very good impression. After all, I had scolded her mother for being so ignorant when it came to her daughter's needs. With a headstart like that, I doubt my second encounter with them would go much betterJust about a half year was left, before (Y/n) was estimated to return home. I can't really believe that two and a half year had gone by, just like that. It felt like yesterday, I had her in my arms, as we said our goodbyes. Why the time had passed so quick, I don't know. Maybe, because time for me only really goes, when she's by my side?
Or maybe because I today would take a knew step into our joined Future, which I hoped with all my heart would become a reality. Of course, I couldn't be certain that our future together would be like in my head. For once, it's impossible to predict the future and for another reason, then (Y/n)'s plans for what to come may had changed since we last saw each other for a little under three years ago?
The possibility that she had found a boyfriend after all this time was there too.
She could have.
But maybe she hadn't.
It was a fifty-fifty chance I was taking, but I just cross my fingers and hope it was the latter possiblity rather than the first one. I was going through all this today, in the hope that she'd return back home to me. If it was all in vain, then...
Unable to continue the thought, I woke up from my daydreaming, just to realize I was close to my destination: (Y/n)'s family mansion, a place I only had visited few times and barely ever been inside of in my dreams.
It was a large mansion, big enough to go under the category of a palace, with a nicely field consisting of various gardens. And of course with their own household, just to make it more luxurious. It was located quite awhile away from New York City's centrum, but with that size, it was no wonder why.
I had a little earlier this week had the opportunity to talk with James, (Y/n)'s retired butler, and had gotten the interesting information that her parents apparently had made a short visit home. At first, I had been taken aback by the suddenness of an opportunity to talk with them. I mean, I knew, I had to talk with them at some point, but that I got that chance so quickly was a miracle, considering as they always were travling everywhere and rarely ever were home.
My planning had become a little of a rush, but somehow I had made up a plan and decided that today was the day, I was going to talk with them. Leaving a note to my brothers, I had taken the keys to the BattleShell and drawn as fast the traffic allowed me to back to their house.
Now, I finally had arrived, yet unease came over me. They didn't know, I was a mutant, nor did they know much about (Y/n)'s fate after she had ran away from home. How would they react? Would they listen to what I had to say?
Parking the BattleShell in front of the wntrance, I turned the engine off and stepped out to once again standing on fast ground. What would be the best tactic to tackle this? I could sneak in? I could knock the door? I could cancel it all and just speak with them over the phone?
Contemplating my few options, I first too late reslized that something was wrong, as the front-door swang open right in front of me. Startled, I tried to hide myself, but quickly found that impossible with the lack of hiding-spots around the entrance. Freezing on the spot, I was forced to do nothing, but watched as a man, around his middle 20th to the middle 30th, stepped out the door.
"Oh...? What are you doing here, Son? Isn't it a little too late for Halloween?" the man chuckled jokingly at the sight of me
For a brief second I wondered in silentl horror, if I had picked the wrong mansion and just now had revealed my existence to a stranger. I didn't remember ever having heard from (Y/n) that she had anyone else to live in their house, but herself and some servants.
Was he a servant too?
No, he was (Y/n)'s father.
Out of every conversation, (Y/n) had told me about with her parents, I had noticed a pattern for each conversation: It was always Mrs. (L/n) who spoke first. From my own little chat with (Y/n)'s parents, I don't ever think I had heard words which were spoken of her father.
But there he stood, and there was no doubt it was him
Mr. (L/n) at the moment was wearing nightgown, but even so It wasn't hard to recognize some of the familiarities between father and daughter: Sane (e/c) eyes, same nose, even some of the same features in their expressions matched.
"Sir, this isn't a costume," I finally replied. "I'm Donatello, I spokewith your wife over the phone a couple years ago about-...about (Y/n)."
More fazed at the mention of his only child, rather than the fact I was a mutant, Mr. (L/n)'s eyes narrowed to sharp slids. "I remember that conversation..."
Nodding lightly, I continued. "I said some disrespectful things, sir, but I stand for my words." Meeetong his gaze I put my everything into the next words i was saying. "I love (Y/n) and I want to bring her all the happiness in the world."
"Son, you're one of these rumoured creatures hanging around in the sewers of New York, aren't you?" Mr. (L/n) asked. "I don't know whatyou're implying, but my little girl is too young for anything near love."
I shook my head in denial. "She's more than old enough, sir. She has become an independent woman and have blossomed like a flower."
The time had come to make my request and reveal the reason why I had come. (Y/n) had matured and so had I. I had known her for around 5 or 6 years, but now I hoped I could get the opportunity to prolong that time to forever. Bowing down deeply, I let the tails of my mask brush against the ground and spoke out clearly.
"I want to ask for your blessings, for when I officially ask (Y/n) (L/n), your daughter, for her hand in marriage."
