"M-Mikey...Wa-Wait!" you protested, trying to tuck your hand out of Mikey's as he dragged you through the sewers in tow. Sadly his grasp didn't loosen and neither did he listen, which he hadn't been doing ever since you left the Lair.

Through the past days you and Mikey's fun had been strained. There wasn't an exact reason why, but the immediate reason to blame was your travle through the dimensional portal. A lot had went through your head after that experience. Like how your life never would be like what it had used to be.

You wouldn't be able to go around through the city safe, without having to glance over your shoulder and assure no one was following you. You wouldn't be able to wake up to the sun shinning through the window when you woke up. Everything you used to do with your life, was now something you had a high chance for calling impossible to do.

The rough reality had begun to dawn for you. Nowhere you stayed wouldn't be safe. Maybe a new portal showed up? Maybe ninjas would try to attack you? Maybe someone would poison you food? Maybe some crazy, bald, white-shinned, psycho from Harry Potter would show up?!

Alright, so the last thing probably wouldn't happen either way, but the rest were actually realistic guesses of the future. All these worries had worried you to insanity and Mikey knew this very well. A thin distance had grown between you due to all your worries, which were driving Mikey nuts.

Therefore today, while you were sitting on the couch for yourself, you startled heard the rare experience of Mikey actually full-blow argue with his brothers. And it did not sound like a joke, at all.

You turned around in your seat to glance over at the four brothers as they continued to argue, Mikey on one side and his brothers on the other. Mikey was waving his hands over his head with a frustrated look on his face.

"Why can't I go?" Mikey whined. "We go every Halloween, so why not now?!"

"Because, peabrain, it's broad daylight outside," Raph scowled. "We're ninjas, Mikey. We can't just show up in a crowd and take us a stroll."

"Why are you on Leo's side? Raph, you're always against everything Leo says!"

"Mikey, if you're going to the surface just because of a date, then there's nothing telling what could happen. If someone see us and figure out you're a real turtle, we'll be in trouble," Leo reasoned and took his orange-masked brother by the shoulders. "We understand you want to be with (Y/n), she can go if she wants, but you're staying down here and that's final."

Mikey made a sour grimace and quickly looked over to his last brother who yet had stayed quiet. Donnie laid a apologetic hand on his brothers shell. "We're sorry, Mikey. But it's not just you. What about (Y/n)'s safety? If the Foot show up, sh could get hurt."

Glaring a hurt glare that obviously shouted 'traitor', Mikey wrestled himself out of his brothers hands and stormed over to the couch. Without giving you an opportunity to react, he took hold of your hand and literally dragged you across the Lair and out of the entrance, which was how had ended here in the first place.

After about 10 minutes of walking without a word from your boyfriend, you were about to give up on talking to him. Or that was until the guys words popped into your head. Danger? Trouble? If they were right, this trip could go terribly wrong, yet it didn't seem like your leading turtle seemed to care.

As fear began to evolve inside of you, you found new energy to stop Mikey from going. As hard you could, you yanked your hand away, and though it didn't set you free then it certainly got Mikey's attention.

"STOP!" you shouted. "What about your brothers? Why are you so eager to go?"

You stopped in your walk as you had requested, but Mikey kept silent and didn't dare glance at you, which you only found even more worrying. You tried to crane your neck enough to get a glimpse of his face, but as you didn't do so a desperation welled up inside of you.

"Let me go! Talk to me," you demanded in vain. "For God sake, Mikey, at least look at me!"

Although hestiant, Mikey slowly turned around and gazed at you with guilt erupting from him. He bowed his head, making your heart ache with confusion. You reached out to touch his cheek, but he shook his head lightly.

"I-I'm sorry," he apologized quivering. "I...I justed wanted to give you a normal day, away from everything."

You wrinkled your nose. "Why?"

He sqeezed your hand he still was holding. "Because, since you came home, you've been worried." His eyes met yours. "You're afraid of being with me, right? Because something might happen."

"Mikey..." you began softly. "That's not true..,"

"I just thought I'd give you a normal day, like the days before you met me, so you'd feel better." Letting go of your hand he positioned himself under a grille which you hadn't noticed before now. He pointed upwards gesturing you to take a look.

You stepped over beside him curiously and gazed out of the grille which gave you just enough space to give you a view out on the street above. On the street over you, you saw lots and lots of people in costumes mingling with one another while seemingly having a great time. You listened closely to the people who walked over the grille as well as you heard a boom of music.

You glanced to Mikey for confirmation. "A festival?"

He nodded. "For us, the only time we can be seen on the surface is when people think we're dressed up."

"That was what they meant about Halloween."

"Mhm." He nodded again, sending you a genuine smile. "I wanted to put go with you on a normal date, but well, you heard them, I can't go with you..."

Suddenly Mikey's behavior and the Turtles conversation made much more sense for you, as well as a sense of relief flowed over you. The real reason for your worries had never been like Mikey believed.

The closed distance there had been between you these past days as you took his hand smiling to him. "Silly, I'm not afraid of you and I don't regret anything. I've just been thinking what crazy things will be happening to us." You squeezed his hand which be quickly returned in affection.  "We don't have to go on normal days. Anywhere, as long it's with you, is fine."

He moved his hand from your and instead pulled you in for a big hug. "I can't promise that something might not happen, but I can promise you and I will surpass anything."

You smiled to him leaning closer into his embrace. "That's right."

No need to be concerned. Yes probably someone would kidnap you to another universe again and probably things would go havoc, but as long you were together, it didn't matter.
