After have been sitting in the Lair for few days much like a statue; no speaking nor moving, unless it was really necessary, your shocked state finally ceased, allowing you to exhaled the breath you seemed to have held for so long. You had been conscious when Leo took you back to the Lair, but with the condition of someone in coma, you hadn't exactly noticed the time passing.

You blinked your dry eyes few times, before looking up to take in your technically new surroundings. The smell of Leo reaching your nose and the familiar Japanese-styled room told you, you were in you boyfriends room. Your memories about your stay there was fuzzy, and though the details weren't clear, you remembered two things very clearly: Leo had been with you all the time, taking care of you while you weren't able to. and that you were safe. That was more or less everything that stood obvious to you.

Creaks from the door startled you as it opened. In from the crack in the door, Leo appeared. "I know it's the sixth, but I need to make sure she's okay..." he told someone on the opposite side of the door. When he turned around, his eyes abruptly went wide, as he saw you were observing him. "(Y/n)..." First step entering was slow, but by the time he reached you his footsteps had picked up speed. He fell to his knees and hugged you tightly, but somehow still gently.

"Leo..." you mumbled uncertain.

"You speak," he held you out by a arm's length to look you over. "You have no clue how happy I am to hear you voice or how frightened you made me, finding you like that."

You lowered you head, looking down in your lap. "I'm sorry you had to go through the trouble."

"You're no trouble, but why were you there by yourself?"

"I-I got lost," you explained shortly.

"Does it have anything to do with..." Leo's sentence came to a halt. You raised your head to see him glancing to your arms briefly. "...Or this?"

When he reached out with his hand to enfold the cheek your uncle had slapped, you knew the secret you had been hold was discovered. If he already knew some of it, you shouldn't be hiding the rest from him. You nodded lightly and pulled up in your sleeves to show your bruised arms. Leo had seen your injuries before, but the ones covering your arms were fresh and new; these days treatment from your aunt and uncle.

"I couldn't take it anymore," you said recalling that night's event. "I screamed at them and said I never would go back. I can't go back Leo, even if I wanted I'm sure they wouldn't let me." You pulled your knees up to your chest and hugged them. "I have no home, no family. I'm going to..."

"You're not going to anything (Y/n)," Leo interrupted with a serious look on his face. "I love you too much to let you die. You're not without a home. This is your home and the people here are your family." Slipping a finger under your chin, he tilted your head upwards to meet his eyes. "I'm your family."

From his way of pronouncing his last words as if it was his last, a smile formed on your lips. How did he do that? Manage to always settle a seed of happiness inside you? The answer could be his heart, his words, his personality or anything else about him. The true answer however must simply be, because he was that one Leonardo you loved.

"You think it's really alright for me to stay here?" you asked, releasing your knees from their locked position. "Shouldn't I ask Splinter first?"

Leo gestured with his head to beside you. You looked at what he was motioning to and found four Japanese futons including extra quilts and pillows.  "We've already talked with Sensei about it, and you anyway have been here two days already. Apparently (R/g), (D/g) and (M/g) have been in troubles too, so you use my room as guest-room while we get our real guest-room fixed."

You wrinkled your nose. "What's wrong with your brothers bedrooms?"

"Well," he said. "Raph's room is way too dangerous for you to use, at least till you get used to things here, Donnie's room is too filled already and Mikey's room too messy."

You nodded understanding of his explanation. From Leo's describing you were sure his room was the ideal one. The atmosphere here like his, was calming and neat. The furniture in use to decorate the room was mostly only them of necessaries and generally, not only because Leo was the owner, you really liked the room.

"How about go get you some to eat? I haven't been able to feed you much," he suggested.

You blushed at the thought, but nodded and accepted the help you were offered when Leo had gotten to his feet. Your steps towards and out of the door was slow, since your legs still were getting used to again being in use, but somehow you managed without crashing down from 1. floor when you took the stairs down.

The Lair was as vivid as always and filled with sounds of actions. The smell of cooking soar in the air. Following your nose, it lead you to the kitchen where you were met with a bear-hug and laughing.

"(Y/N)! You're alive! That's really awesome!" Mikey said cheerful, almost suffocating you in his hug.

"MIchelangelo," Leo warned, noticing your expression turn slightly pale from lack of oxygen.

Mikey took the warning in and noticed your condition as well. "Oops," he exclaimed sheepishly, before letting you go. "Sorry about that. It's just nice seeing you. You just came in time for dinner."

At the mention of 'dinner', the kitchen began crowding. In came (R/g), Master Splinter and (D/g) in conversations and behind them; Donnie, (M/g) and Raph entered. Before you knew of it, you again was in the arms of gasps and hugs as your newly created family found you back in consciousness.

Though your bruises hurt by the constant pressure of embraces, you didn't really mind. This time Leo didn't send out a warning, but simply watched smiling, as you were greeted by hugs and  somewhat relieved comments.

Some people worries about homesickness, but not you. You already felt at home right were you were.
