Leo's POV
For once this week, the blue sky had turned free from heavy clouds and was instead sprinkled with sparkling stars, while the moon shone brightly.  It was a beautiful night. Beautiful, yet a little empty.

So did my heart feel too.

It had been around two and a half year since  (Y/n) and I parted ways, yet the silent aching in my soul after our goodbye hadn't gone away. How was she? Did school go well? Had her appearance changed? Was she happy?

Had she found someone else...?

We had 'broken up' in full knowledge that a love between her and someone else could happen. It could happen, but I didn't want to think about it. I wouldn't want to think about the possibility that I'd have to give her away to someone and that our goodbye then may was permanent.

It was a unnecessary worry in the situation I now was in, but nevertheless it was a cruel thought that lived in the back of my consciousness. If she really had found someone, my act tonight would be in vain.

Shaking my head to force out my pessimism, I turned my gaze out to over the landscape of the city, my calm attitude, not at all matching my racing heart at all. My eyes grasped the streets underneath me, quietly, until they found their way to (Y/n)'s old home; her aunt and uncle's apartment.

It had been four, maybe five, years since my first visits in her room, where I saw the horrible conditions she lived under. It has been so long, yet I'd never forget how poorly she was treated. They didn't see her as a niece, barely a human. They only saw her as a slave, a object or a tool for them to order around.

Yet here I was, only few buildings away from those two horrible people, ready to kneel down before them and make one of the greatest request a person in love could ask for: the request of blessing.

Hearing my phone's faint vibrating from my belt, I knew the time had come for me to make my move. Crouching down to a jump, I bounced off to the next building, before settling into a sprint. By few seconds I had closed the distance and was right outside the window to (Y/n)'s room, which I so many times in the past had tried to climb through.

Not unsurprisingly, the window was locked, but as they seemingly hadn't bothered to change the lock, it wasn't that hard to pick it open. I climbed inside and closed it after me without a sound. The air inside here brimmed with dust, but was just as empty as when (Y/n) had lived here.

It was a jail, rather than a bedroom.

I grit my teeth, keeping my anger bottled. As much as I wanted to, I hadn't come there to fight her uncle nor aunt. I was here for a far more important reason, and ruining it for justice over a old grudge would be fatal.

Stepping over to the door, pushing it open enough for me to slide through, I peeked inside to the living room, not disappointed to find what i had searched for. Inside the living room Mr. and Mrs. (L/n) sat on the couch watching TV with a cup of coffee or tea in their hands. The way they sat, snuggled up to each other, if I didn't knew better, It'd be easy to assume the two of them were a normal old couple like any other.

"Criminals here and criminals there," Mr. (L/n) grumbled at the TV. "That's everything this generation of youth is."

"That's because they aren't raised well, darling," Mrs. (L/n) spoke. "Good grief , if we had children, I'd never let them be raised like that."

Mr. (L/n)'s expression hardened with disgust, and so did mine, when I heard his following sentence.  "Just like that silly girl, my brother upraised. Even calling her (Y/n), just calls for trouble."

"Do not speak of (Y/n) like that!" I sneered.

Without thinking, I had let my tongue speak of its own, at the insults (Y/n)'s uncle was throwing her way. Forget everything about a normal couple. Even after so many years, these people still had nothing but venom inside of them to give out of.

My unconscious  outburst rang loudly between the walls, and had obviously jolted the two of them, as they yelped and spun around in fright. As soon as they caught sight of me, the horror in their expressions only deepened, which I couldn't really blame them for since I was a armed mutant.

"W-What are you doing at my home, c-creature?!" Mr. (L/n) stammered as threatening as possible, shielding his wife out of harms way. Although, he shielded her, his shivering didn't went unnoticed. But so again, no wonder he was scared. I had broken his hand last time I saw him.

I was still greatly irritated that he'd talk about (Y/n) so poorly, but I couldn't let that come in the way for my real purpose to this visit. Mustering up my best behavior, I bowed my head to them, which apparently came for them as shock.

"Mr. and Mrs. (L/n), I know the relationship between you and your niece aren't strong, but to honor traditions, I've come here to talk with you," I spoke, keeping my voice polite.

"We don't want to talk with freaks," Mr. (L/n) scowled. "Get out of my house!"

Clenching my hands, I continued with my head low. "I love (Y/n) with everything I have, sir. I'm aware that you approve of neither of us, but you're the closest family she has. Please let me speak and you'll never see me again."

I'd expect (Y/n)'s uncle to snap at me again, but much to my surprise , it was her aunt that replied. "Wh-What is it you want from us?"

"You're niece is at the moment out of the New York, but when she returns I want to commit myself to her. I want to make her happy forever."

"What..."

I raised my head high and looked directly at them, my determination steady. These two were everything (Y/n) had left from her old life. I wanted their approval, I wanted to settle the bond between them and her peacefully.

"I'm asking for your blessings, when I ask your niece (Y/n) for her hand in marriage."
