Your daughter is my everything - Michelangelo

Mikey's POV
With the last sunrays illuminating the sky and a look over the city, it had become that time of the day, where the traffic was at its worst, as everyone took off from work and made their way back home. From the highest of buildings, the people riding their cars looked like nothing but ants in a toy-car. If you didn't had a certain target you focused on, it's be almost impossible not to lose anyone in the chaotic rush-hour.

Around this hour of the day, I'd normally had stayed at home and played another of my video-games. 'Cause while the sun was starting to set, the guys and I usually only visited the Surface after dark. Today was a special occasion, however, and I had a mission to fulfill.

It had been around two and half years, or maybe more like a lifetime, since (Y/n) had left me and New York City behind. I hadn't heard from her, nor I really wanted to. If I heard her voice,  which I missed so dearly, I doubt I'd be able to survive another suffering day without her. It had been so long since I'd seen her, yet my heart still only belonged to her

That was just how love was.

I don't know, whether she still felt the same as me. I had made her promise, the day she left that she'd never forget me, but anyone would know that was an impossible and nevertheless unfair promise. If she really did find someone else after these three years, then who was I to stand in the way of my angel's happiness?

I'd have to make our goodbye permanent, but if it was for her, then I'd do it. I would go any day and night in suffering, if just she was happy. If she returned with a new boyfriend, I'd prove it for her that my words were genuine, but for now while I was ignorant for the truth, my best chance was just to stay optimistic.

And so I did.

I raised my head out of my cloudy thoughts, when I suddenly caught sight of my two targets. I had waited for around a hour for (Y/n)'s parents to show up. Surprisingly, both (Y/n)'s parents left their works as the last, even though they each held a rather high-ranked position in their line of work.

From the building I stood on, I watched the two of them get into their car, before they started the engine and turned the car, heading in the direction of home. Giving them only a five seconds headstart, I quickly followed their car in a hurried game of tag.

After awhile of running, they finally reached their apartment, and I slowed my sprint down to a power-walk. After so many years, a pang of nostalgia hit me right at the chest, at the sight of (Y/n)'s old home. The first amount of out time together, we had spend together inside  (Y/n)'s room. So many old memories was linked here, good as bad. With my memories flooding my head, a bittersweet aching went through my body.

Picking the lock to one of the windows opem, I climbed through it and ended, unsurprisingly, into (Y/n)'s previous bedroom. We had been here once before, after (Y/n) moved into the Lair, yet still I felt sorrowful to see the empty room, which once was so colorful, now being barely used as a room for storage.

Not wanting to dwell further upon it, I crossed the room to the door and peeked out, just at the perfect timing as the sound of the front-door being opened was heard. From my position at the door, I watched quietly, as Mr. and Mrs. (L/n) stepped into the living-room.

"Again, they're inviting us to a Christmas lunch, but ask if our daughter is to attend too," (Y/n)'s mother hissed.

"Should we say she works for charity that particular weekend, dear?" (Y/n)'s father suggested.

"That's our only option, if they're not to get suspicious."

Suspicious, huh.

Seems like, even after years, the two of them still hadn't changed one bit. Reputation always came before feelings in the house. It was a home build on rules, lies and facades. Were these two really the once I had to bow my head to? To pay them my respect?

There was nothing I could do about it.

Taking a deep breath, I reminded myself about the manners master Splinter had told me to use and my purpose for being there, before I opened the door and stepped out into the room. For a brief moment nothing happened, until suddenly...

Gasp!!

A collective gasp was shared between them,  when they soon enough,  noticed my presence. Terror and confusion were painted in a thick layer over their expressions.  Maybe not that big of a shock, since I technically did threaten them with pizza, the last time I saw them.

"Hey-.. I mean...Good evening," I greeted, sending them a strained smile. "I hope, I don't interrupt?"

My smile wasn't returned.

Instead, Mrs. (L/n)'s face turned a whole shade of red darker, most likely with fury. "What are you doing here?! Murdet! Criminal! Infant! Get out of my home immediately!"

"Mrs. (L/n), I'm not here to hurt you, I just wanted a chat," I told, hiding a grimace, which was working its way up to my face. "I'm here to ask for your consent..."

"Consent?" Mr. (L/n) quzzied.

"For what?" Mrs. (L/n) questioned confused.

"To stat with her forever," I answered. "She's the most amazing girl in the world, whether you realize it or not. She's sweet and smart. Her smile brings people light and I love her more than anything."

I'm not very good with formalities. I'm a goofball and solemnity isn't my strong side. All that, yet still I did my absolute best to bow down for them and raise my voice, so they could hear my deepest request.

"I want to ask, (Y/n) for her hand. Please, give me your blessings for marrying your daughter."
