Noise of tapping soar through the Lair along with pop-sounds from a boiling vessel. It was hard to locate the source of noise, but now familiar enough with the Hamato home you knew immediately it was Don using time in his lab.
The rest of the brothers had left for dinner along with the rest of the girls, however you had been too lazy and therefor decided to stay back. Donnie had done the same, though not because he was attempting to relax. All day you listened to the continuous tapping and by now you had concluded if you had to listen to it one minut more, you'd not promise anyone's safety.
The next tap resounded which pulled the trigger completely. You got up from the couch and stormed to the lab, making your brother-in-law stop briefly to send you a glance before starting his annoying typing again.
You frowned. "Could you cut me some slack?! I've listened to that shitty computer long enough to think I've gotten tinnitus!"
"Technically you can't get tinnitus from me typing; it's more like a pounding than a buzz-sound," Donnie explained still watching his screen. "The real definition would be more like a average throbbing to be exact..."
"Donatello," you warned threateningly. "I don't want your science babble. All I want is peace!"
He sighed heavily and leaned back in the chair, turning towards you. "I'm sorry,. But one of my servers, which collects my data, has crashed. I need to get it running or I'd be at risk of losing important documents."
"Can't you do that in silence?"
"No, and at the moment I'm clueless what of my software has failed, so this will take awhile."
He gestured towards his screen for you to take a look. Your nose wrinkled at the many numbers, signs and letters there were combine into one big match-up. You weren't that good with the geeky things in computers, but from what it appeared, then the coding Don was checking through was correct put together. By that you concluded silently it wasn't the coding there was wrong, but something maybe more manual.
Sighing loudly you stepped over and pushed Donnie away. "Let me see. The faster done, the faster quiet I'll get." You had no technology clue what the problem was, but you knew the way you made your devices work was pretty effective.
"What?! No no no... (Y/n) this is delicate work. You really shouldn't," Don said worried. He looked everything but happy when you ignored him and simply continued your doings. He kept complaining about the gentleness to handle the device and how you had to know about the settings.
Instead of listening or concentrate about the complicated stuff you closed the windows and found the power/power-off button. You pressed it and forced the computer to restart its system. It flashed like it was morsing:
White.
Black
White.
Black
Black.
The screen was dead...
"What? No!" Don exclaimed, reaching out to save it.
You stopped him, before he'd try anything. "Relax, it's suppose to," you told calmly. You glanced once at the screen and crossed your arms pending.
Reluctantly Donnie nodded and waited, though it was obvious he doubted it'd work. You both waited as time slowly passed. There was no indication it ever would come to life again, but you were 75% sure it world.
As you were in the middle of a yawn, something caught your eyes. You snapped your head just to see something was happening with the computer. The screen began its flashing once more, but this time it stayed powered.
Your brother-in-law widened his eyes while you simply grinned at him. You gestured with a nod towards it, telling him to try it out again. He did so and his expression was priceless. You placed a hand upon your hip.
"You actually made it work," he surprised stated with amazement.
""Don't seriously tell me you didn't thought of restarting it before you went all Einstein," you asked in disbelief. By the reddened color under his eyes you got your answer. You facepalmed. "Whatever. Happy? Can I have some peace and quiet now?"
"Sure," he replied. Sighing you did a effort to leave, though you never got that far. "...Uhm..(Y/n)?"
"Yeah?"
"Raph is lucky having you."
You blushed at the compliment, but before you managed to leave someone suddenly passed behind you and laid a arm around your shoulders. Startlet you looked up to find your one and only smirking.
"I am. Both a cute and smart girl. All in one," Raph complimented, pulling you closer.
"Yeah, so you better treat me well, big guy," you sulky retorted to hide your embarrassment. This caused him to laugh, yet he still seemed like he took it seriously.
What a girl was against nowadays.
