What does a totally normal girl and her totally unnormal boyfriend do when they've been together for about three months and want to take the next step? They go on a first date of course!

Alright, so maybe you hadn't really thought about going on a date. The phenomena was a myth for you. You never had been on a date, so no one would have to expect you going up in such details. -that's how, when Donnie asked you out, you were filled with panic, but for some reason happiness too.

Your answer became a 'yes', and since then you had done everything you could to figur out how a date should go. Research about that single topic was what had filled your history the past days.

Right at the moment you were sitting in your family's car with James as the chauffeur. You had parked at the entry to Central Park in the late hours of evening where the sunset already had begun. Even so you however were too busy to get out and meet Donnie as you had planned.

"Alright! Compliments should be thanked. You should keep away from onions. If you're close you should...should..." your listing of what to do/not to do came to a halt, when the thought of miserable failure displayed inside your head. "Oh dear God, James, what should i do? If he comes close? What if he thinks I look awful? What if...!"

"My Lady, you look wonderful," James replied. For a short moment his professional expression turned into the well-known father-like one. "Don't worry about anything, but enjoy your evening and do what your heart says."

He went outside and opened the door for you, smiling encouraging. You gulped but nodded and got out. You greeted goodbye and entered the park, going towards the same place where you had met Don for the first time.

The place hadn't changed much and as it was the first time, the free spot in the middle of the bunch of trees, were still well-hidden and inaudible for other visitors. You glanced around yourself, before stepping into the bobble-like world where your date would be held.

Inside the tree middle, was a blanked laid out and on top a basket as well as provision for dinner and drinks. Opposite from you was your favorit Turtle folding out another blanket. Too nervous to say anything you waited till he noticed you.

As soon as he noticed your presence, he gaped, before smiling at you. "(Y/n), hey! How long did you stand there?"

"N-Not for too long," you replied, while waving as a greet.

"You look sweet as usually," he complimented. He placed the blanket near the other and went over to you taking your hand. "I know a picnic may be simple, but I think it's a nice way for you and I to have fun."

A smile formed on your features, and with one your nervousness ceased to nothing. Too focused with the touch to your hand, you forgot every worry you had and was just thankful to be there. You let go of Don's hand, to slide down on knees at the laid out blankets, looking at the setup he had done for the two of you.

Donnie sat down beside you and dug out from the basket a (f/f) and handed it to you. "A flower to a flower," he said, winking.

You giggled, sniffing in its scent. You returned it to him: "As you say: Flower to a flower."

Blinking only for a moment, Donnie started chuckling, but however didn't accept it. "Keep it. It's for you."

After giving him a second to reconsider, you nodded lightly and held the (f/f) to your fluttering heart. You didn't notice before, but a light steam raised from the basket Donnie had taken the flower from.

You tilted you heard in mild worry. "Donnie? What's in the basket?"

"Oh? There's our meal. It's still warm, so should we eat?" he suggested, opening the lids of the basket to let you see.inside it.

As soon as you had seen what was on the menu, you decided for you to eat. You set out the plates and cutlery as well as food. Before you knew of it you had both dug into the delicious tastes, and shared the enjoyment of talk and laugher together.

The sky above you as time passed, changed to a dark blue. Stars began mixing together in the blue, creating a beautiful view, you rarely would see in the center of a giant city.

You had after the desert cleaned up your stuff and put it aside, so the two of you could lie at the blankets on your backs.  Now as you did, you laid side by side with a shared small-sized quilt over you to keep the chills in the air out.

Normally when a female and a male was in the same position as you were, the atmosphere would be awkward and nervous, but not for you. You didn't feel anything but security and happiness in your chest as you stargazed together.

"It's wonderful," you admitted in awe. Donnie nodded agreeing. Coincidental your hands found  each other under the quilt, however instead of pulling away, he took your hand in his and sequenced it encouraging.

"You...(Y/n)," he started out after awhile. You turned your head to him, to see he already was on his side.

"What is it?"

"I asked you out because I thought it would be a good idea, but...I had another reason too..."

The blood inside you started to rush from one end of your body to the other in anticipation and a mix up of fright. However the bad things melted away, when his face formed a flustered grin.

"I wanted to tell you: That...I love you."

"I love you too." The words slipped out before they could be stopped. It was like it was the most normal thing in the whole world to be said.

It felt natural to say, and something inside you found it right as well. What was more natural was when the both of yours cheeks went bright red, but you anyway snuggled closer than you ever had before.

Nose to beak you just lied there under the stars in a bubble in middle of Central Park, where no one by accident would look.

It was weird, it was sweet, it was awkward, but indeed enjoyable when you took the next step an connected in a kiss. Nothing fashioned or big, but simply a new way you had opened together to show affection.
