'Aw man' I said sitting down in the hospital waiting room 'what's wrongs babe' Anna asked, Lawson couldn't make it today as he works away but he is so excited to hear the news. I found out on the 14th July and had my first scan on 4th august which they said I worked out I would be 12 weeks then turns out I was 14 weeks so I'd worked my dates wrong and to our surprise their was in fact two heartbeats and two little squidgys on the screen. Today is the 15th September which mean it's 20 weeks since I did the test and I also get a scan every two weeks. 'I just need a wee and I've left my purse at home' I groaned 'it will be time soon' she said, I chose Anna to come with me to my first scan because she's been there from day one and I just felt like she was the best person to come even though I have Nikki back at home I just knew Anna needed to be there. 'Elizabeth Ebony Sanderson' the nurse called and I got butterflies as we walked to the room 'hi love can you just lay down and lift up your top and budge your pants down a little' the nurse asked and I proceeded to do as I was told 'so how's it going' she asked sorting her paper work out 'erm normal..I think' I laughed and she smirked 'so are we excited, happy, buzzing I mean you do have a doubl wammy' she asked me 'happy..nervous' I shrugged 'and nana' she asked looking at Anna 'I'm so excited now the idea has sunk in' anna laughed 'so will these little ones be a big actor' she asked 'who knows, hes or shes could be anything they want to be if they put their mind to it' I nodded 'exactly..they'll be the best they can be' she said pouring cold gel on to my tummy 'sooooo cold' I giggled and she got the Doppler out and went over my tummy and scanned around but she was silent and I looked at Anna 'you ok' she whispered and I just nodded slowly 'is everything ok' I asked and she zoomed the screen in and out and I was so confused 'one moment I just need to get my partner' she said leaving the room 'everything's not okay' I said looking at Anna with a big amount of fear across my face 'it will be' she said holding my hand and my heart was in knots. The door opened what seemed like a lifetime later and a consultant had entered alongside her 'hi I'm Mr Rodgers I'm just going to take a look' he said nicely 'wow 20weeks exactly eh with two babies, I remember when you first took the test in July' Anna said taking my mind off the consultant 'yeah crazy' I shrugged 'it is, time flies when you're having fun, and Montana she'd be what how many weeks pregnant in the show' she asked 'she'd 18, my character is a week behind me' I sighed 'good ol miniver with a McQueen though eh' she laughed 'right' the man said and our attention went back to him 'this is baby A and this is baby B' he said and I smiled I could make out little bits 'is everything ok' I asked and he just looked at me 'I'm sorry miss but baby Bs heartbeat can not be detected' he said with his head down and tears pricked my eyes 'you're wrong' I said 'I'm very sorry, this is very common with twins, usually earlier in the pregnancy though' he said and I just cried 'so what happens now, I mean is baby A ok' Anna asked 'perfect' he said and my mind went into overdrive 'so how..what..where will my baby go' I asked 'miss Sanderson, I know this is a lot to process but to make sure baby A stays safe, because it's still quite early in the pregnancy and they shared the same placenta we need you to carry both , you will be induced at 37 weeks' he said and I couldn't take any of this in 'I can tell you that the baby has only recently passed, they are measuring at 19 weeks and baby A is measuring fine, we can tell you the sex now' he said quietly which meant they only passed last week or yesterday it could have been yesterday and I didn't have any sort of idea at all not even one indication 'yes pleased I gulped, I needed to know for my own comfort 'they were identical, girls Miss' he said and I cried harder I had two little girls, had. 'We will call you for a follow up' the nurse told me but I wasn't listening I was to besides myself to listen 'ok thank you' Anna said as she held my hand out of hospital 'I'm gunna take the day off work' she said 'no the world doesn't stop because of me, I still need to work' I snapped 'let's go, I don't wanna be home' I said 'can I phone nick' she asked 'yeah get him to meet me at work or we can stop home on the way' I said 'we will stop home, or you can wait' she said 'I'd rather go tell him first' I said and she nodded in agreement.
