TIA'S POV
Hi. I was the newest member of the Wayne family. Bruce adopted me after my father, Lucius Fox, had been about a year ago in an incident. An incident that no one really liked to talk about. I knew Bruce probably told everyone not to bring it up around me; especially, since it hurt remembering it every day.
Right now, I was trying to get Jason to let me play Just Dance, because he had had the PlayStation all morning.
Jason rolled his eyes and sighed saying,"Tia, go away. There is another one in Drake's room. I am sure he would let you play."
I pouted and fell back on Jason's bed, before I suddenly remembered about what I had to do today.
I ran out of the room and bumped into Bruce, before he caught me and asked me,"Darling, is everything all right?"
I nodded and smiled saying,"Everything is fine, Bruce. I just have to go out for a minute."
I expected Bruce to question me, but he did not question me and nodded saying,"Take Alfred with you. I would hate for anything to happen to you. It is-"
I stopped Bruce by mimicking his voice saying,"It is dangerous and not for young teenagers like you to be out this early; especially, when I am here and unable to come with you. Yeah, yeah, Bruce, I understand. Thanks, love you!"
I kissed Bruce's cheek, before I rushed down the stairs and Alfred beat me to the car.
Alfred opened the door for me and laughed saying,"You were too slow, Ms. Fox. We are almost late for your appointment."
I got in, before Alfred drove us to the place. I made sure I had my things together ahead of time.
Alfred asked me,"Do you need me to accompany you, Ms. Fox?"
I leaned on the car door saying,"Alfred, Tia is fine, and no, you can stay out here. This will only take a few minutes. I promise."
Alfred smiled and nodded, before I walked inside the building and signed in. I waited until it was my turn. Then, I was sent to the back and the eye doctors did their thing. I hated the part when your eyes had to get dilated, because I liked being able to see where I was going.
I wore the shades for a while, until I tried on the many pairs of glasses. Alfred did accompany me for this part. I tried on about a hundred pair of glasses, until I found one with a magnificent pattern on it. Feeling confident about my choice, I immediately paid for it.
We were out in less than an hour, before Alfred held open the car door for me.
I stopped, and Alfred asked me,"Ms. Fox, is everything all right? Do you feel sick?"
I sighed and asked Alfred,"Will they make fun of me? I have never worn glasses before, and I do not want them to treat me differently with them on."
Alfred frowned and rested his hand on my cheek saying,"Ms. Fox, the glasses do not define who you are. They may be a part of you now, but what defines you is your character. You can use those glasses to help embrace who you are. There is nothing wrong with wearing glasses, and I am sure no one will treat you any differently. Let's get you back to Wayne Manor."
I smiled and thanked Alfred for the encouragement, before I took a deep breath. It took us less than 20 minutes to get to Wayne Manor, before I followed Alfred inside.
Immediately once I walked inside, Bruce pulled me in for a hug. I hugged Bruce back and looked at Alfred. Alfred shrugged and made his way into the kitchen.
Bruce pulled away from the hug and said,"Where have you been? You did not tell me where you were going, and I was worried. Hey, there is something different about you today."
I frowned and thought Bruce was talking about the glasses, before he lifted my chin saying,"Honey, you still look beautiful and that will not change how much you mean to everyone in this family. You may not be my real daughter, but I owe it to Lucius to treat and protect you as if you are my daughter. Don't second guess yourself, Tia. I better head to Wayne Enterprises. Love you, Tia."
I smiled and said,"Love you, too, Br-Dad."
Bruce smiled real big at me, before he kissed my forehead and left. I smiled to myself, then I headed up the stairs.
I heard Dick yell,"TIA, I NEED YOU?!!"
Hearing that I was needed, I jogged into Jason's room. In Jason's room, Damian, Tim, Jason, and Dick were all just chilling.
Dick got up and smiled saying,"Hey, you have glasses now. They are adorable, just like you."
I smiled and Dick kissed my cheek, before Jason rolled his eyes saying,"Grayson, stop making her blush. You are here brother, not her boyfriend."
Dick rolled his eyes, and Tim said,"I like the glasses, N/N. It makes you look older and more smarter. Damian?"
Damian smiled at me and said,"I like them, too, Fox. You look like your father."
I smiled at Damian, and tears formed in my eyes.
Jason got up and wrapped his arms around me saying,"It is all right, Y/N. We are all here for you. You are not alone. Promise."
I nodded and soon, the other boys joined in on the hug, too. It felt amazing to know they were going to have my back. The fact that I had glasses or the fact that I was different did not matter to them. I thanked God that it did not.
