   JEAN'S POV

  "So, Bruce, you don't know what time you'll be done?"

  Bruce rested his hands on his chair and looked me in the eyes saying,"No, I don't know, Jean, but it shouldn't take that long. It's just a brief meeting to make sure the company is doing okay."

  I nodded and Bruce walked up to me, wrapping his arms around me.

  He said,"Do you need me for something? Is that why you are so worried about this meeting?"

  I replied,"No. I just thought we could go on a date tonight, but I don't want to rush your meeting or anything."

  Bruce smiled at me and said,"Jean, a date tonight sounds like a good idea. Like I said, it should just be a brief meeting. Why don't you go home and check on Alfred then meet me back here?"

  I gave Bruce a quick kiss, before I drove home to Wayne Manor.

  Alfred immediately greeted me at the door, and I said,"Hello to you, too, Al. Always nice to see you in a good mood."

  Alfred laughed warmly and said,"You as well, Ms. Jean. Where is Master Bruce?"

  I said,"He had a meeting at Wayne Enterprises. We are even going on a date tonight. Can you believe that?"

  Alfred laughed again at my tone and said,"I can't believe that, Ms. Jean, but you go get ready for your date."

  I quickly hugged Alfred, before I got dressed. I met Bruce back at his office, and he was speechless.

  He said,"Jean, how come I have never seen you in this dress before?"

  I shrugged saying,"I'm not a woman that likes dresses too much. I prefer jeans, shorts, tennis shoes, jerseys, etc. Stuff like that."

  Bruce nodded and held out his arm. I linked mine in his own, before we made it to the restaurant. The restaurant that was very crowded and the place to be tonight.
  Bruce laughed at my facial expression, and then he helped me sit down at our table. As we ate, Bruce kept glancing at me and then looking away.

  I said,"Bruce, what's the matter?"

  Bruce asked me,"Does my schedule bother you?"

  I thought about it and went to tell the truth, but I just said,"No. You're a busy man. You even have to worry about the League and Batman, so I get it. Of course, what you do is going to take up a lot of your time."

  Bruce took my hands on top of the table and said,"Jean..."

  I sighed and said,"Okay, maybe it does bother me, but there's nothing you can do about it, Bruce. Your job is your job."

  Bruce said to me,"I can do something about it, and I will. I want to be able to spend time with you, Jean, and I know how you are. You haven't had the best luck with people, but you keep things in. I want you to be able to talk to me when something bothers you."

  I added,"But what if you don't like what I have to say?"

  Bruce sent me a reassuring smile and said,"Then, I will deal with it but still listen to everything you have to say. Okay?"

  "Okay."
