   Y/N'S POV

  Do you know what it felt like to be cheated on? It was one of the worst feelings in the world. The person who was responsible for this feeling was Hal Jordan. Hal and I had been going strong for two years, but then I walked in on him and Carol.
  After I witnessed what I did, my heart became full of hatred and this shallowness. I had no idea I was even capable of harnessing so much of it, but I knew it now. When I was offered the opportunity to become a Red Lantern, I didn't hesitate to take the job.

  ......

  One day, that job ran me right into the person who caused me so much pain.

  Hal's eyes widened, and he said,"Y/N, you're not this. This isn't you. You don't have to listen to a thing I say to you, but you do have a choice. You can either take all those lives, or you can walk away right now."

  My hands balled into fists, and I yelled,"JUST LIKE YOU HAD A CHOICE TO BE FAITHFUL TO ME AND YOU BROKE IT! YOU BETRAYED ME!!"

  Hal backed away from me, feeling the amount of power radiating from me.

  However, he said,"YOU'RE RIGHT! I MESSED UP! I BETRAYED YOU BUT GIVE ME ANOTHER CHANCE! YOU'RE A GOOD PERSON! YOU'RE NOT A MONSTER OR A VILLAIN! YOU'RE YOU, AND YOU'LL LOSE YOURSELF IF YOU GO DOWN THIS ROAD ANY LONGER! Please."

  I slowly landed back on the ground, and Hal held out his hand. I slowly walked towards him, until I was blown back through a glass window. I heard Hal call my name, before everything became dark.

  ...

  When I opened my eyes, I was in bed and I recognized the room as Hal's room. He leaned on the door and gazed at me. I brought my attention to my bare feet, and Hal sat down beside me.

  He said,"I always thought I wasn't giving you enough credit. Y/N, with all that I was doing, I realized now that I was just holding you back. Trying to keep you away and maybe I was asking for you to be angry with me. I'm sorry. I know it isn't my right to decide what you do and what you don't do, but I always knew you would be great. I want you to know that if you want space, I'll give it to you. If you want to stay here and for me leave, that's okay too."

  I immediately hugged Hal and said,"You're not going anywhere. I don't want you to. I forgive you. Just don't make me mad again. I'll squish you."

  He chuckled saying,"I wasn't really going to leave you. I can't. I appreciate your forgiveness. I'll earn it. Oh, and I have no doubt that you'll squish me. I may need to sleep with both my eyes open."

  I giggled and he smiled down at me, before I said,"What about me being a Red Lantern?"

  He said,"We'll figure it out."

  I looked up at Hal and fixed his sleeve saying,"Thank you for talking to me."

  He stroked my cheek saying,"You're welcome, Y/N. I love you."

  I replied,"I love you, too."

  He said,"Do you need anything else?"

  I got up and said,"No. I'll be in touch, Hal. Until next time."

  He grabbed my hand and said,"When's next time?"

  I gave his hand a squeeze and replied,"Next time's when I decide for it to be the next time."

  Hal seemed disappointed, but he smiled at my hand in his own. I held onto his hand a little longer, before I slowly let go.

  Hal said,"Y/N?"

  I replied,"Yeah, Hal?"

  "Stay safe."

  I said,"I will. How much trouble could I get in?"

  I sent Hal a wink and flew off, before I headed back to my place. That next time turned out to be a month later, and it was worth it to see Hal's smile again.
  Even though it would take time for us to be the couple we were before, I was willing to give him another chance.
