DAMIAN'S POV
Today had not been the best day of my life. Sure, there were good ones, but I would not tell Y/N that. She'd find some way to make me say something I didn't want to say. It was her talent, but she and I were closer than I could have ever thought possible.
Why this was not the best day ever? Gotham Academy had been under lockdown for quite some time. Since Y/N and I were in the same class period together, it made it easier for us to communicate.
I whispered to Y/N,"We have to get out of this classroom, L/N. We have to find out who caused this."
Y/N looked at me, and I recognized that look.
I sighed and said to her,"Y/N, you're not going to hurt anyone. Please come with me. I'll be with you and plus, Father wouldn't want me to do this on my own. He claims I need better social skills, so this should help me."
Y/N chuckled and replied,"You have a point, Wayne, but I trust you. Of course I'll come with you. You think I want to stay in here and watch Titanic? Please."
I smiled and asked her,"Not big on sentiment, huh?"
Y/N shook her head and used her x-ray vision to see outside of the classroom.
She whispered to me,"This hallway is clear, but there are 4 hostiles on the next hall. Near the cafeteria. I'm hungry, Dami."
I rolled my eyes, and Y/N had to eat something, before one of my acquaintances caused a distraction for me.
I thanked him, and Y/N and I made our way outside the classroom, rushing down the hall. I looked around the corner and saw League assassins.
Wait, what were they doing here?
Y/N asked me telepathically,"What are they doing here? You know about this?"
I gazed over at Y/N and replied,"No. If they're here, keep your guard up. Talia may be here as well."
Y/N corrected me saying,"You mean your mother may be here as well?"
I said,"She's not my mother, L/N. Not since she left me and turned my head around. Made me think killing was the only way to be on top; she wanted me efficient. Anyway, let's just get this over with."
Y/N looked away from me, and I went to take a step forward, but she stopped me.
She said,"Look...Well you can't see it since you don't have my abilities, but they have our principal in there. If we're too loud, they'll hear us and kill him. We have to be careful about this, Damian."
I nodded and Y/N used her speed to take out the assassins outside, while I handled the two in front of the door. Y/N almost fell, since she was still getting used to embracing her abilities.
I caught her, and she cleared her throat saying,"Don't tell Richard. He'll use it against me in training."
I promised Y/N not to tell Grayson, and we headed our separate ways into the principal's office. Y/N was behind the back door, and I took the vent way.
I looked down through the open areas and took a deep breath. Talia and Grandfather were here. I was quite surprised Father had not shown up yet, but I was sure there was a good reason he had not shown up yet.
I jumped down and decided to throw away the element of surprise.
Grandfather turned and said,"Why, grandson, it is nice to see you. Your mother is here as well. We just needed to speak with your principal, Headmaster Hammer."
Headmaster looked horrible, given he looked like he had taken a few blows here and there.
I sighed and said,"Grandfather, please. This is not the time for this. What could you possibly want with our principal?"
Grandfather shrugged and admitted to me,"You. I've always respected Detective's reasoning and tactics, but this one is different. For months, I simply asked him to allow you to come to the League of Assassins, but he simply told me he'd come around. Yet you haven't and I'm concerned that it is in result of the people you are around, like Ms. L/N."
My guard immediately increased, and Talia said to me,"We know she's right behind that door, my son. I know you have affections for her. I can see it in your eyes. Y/N, you can just come in here."
Y/N walked in and stood beside me, yet she didn't let down her guard at all.
Grandfather said,"You would've been a great successor, Damian, but it appears that is not the path you are on. While I may not have always agreed with Talia's motives, I agree that you're the key to keeping the League great."
Y/N said to Grandfather,"He's where he needs to be, and he can make his own decisions. He knows that. Now let our principal go, or I will see what happens when I use all my powers at the same time. Never done it before, but I'm sure it wouldn't be good for the two of you right in front of me."
I watched Grandfather and Talia eye Y/N, but she only smirked at them.
Talia said,"Let's go, father. We'll be back, Damian."
They just left, which surprised me. I was expecting a fight or more assassins. Y/N and I helped Headmaster Hammer. Immediately, I called an ambulance and Father.
After Headmaster Hammer left in an ambulance, Father arrived and just hugged Y/N and I. I hugged him back and Y/N did as well.
Father pulled away from the hug and said,"I'm glad you two are all right. Y/N, I'm proud of you for sticking through with Damian. Damian..."
I nervously waited for Father's response, and he finally said to me,"Never expected anything less. Well done, son. Well done."
I smiled at him and thanked him, before Y/N hugged me. I hugged her back, and Father smirked.
I mouthed "please don't," and he just smiled, nodding. Rest assured, this day was not so bad. I got to spend time with Y/N, and we saved Headmaster Hammer together.
