Y/N'S POV
After I left Mount Justice, for a quick meeting, I decided to go ahead and head home. I lived not too far from Washington D.C., but it was not considered close.
See, I did not have speed like Wally West or abilities like Miss Martian, but I had brains that could test even the famous Nightwing for his knowledge.
Batman, who happened to be a close friend of my mother and father, liked to use my smarts to corner Nightwing from time to time. I think it was just his way of embarrassing his ally whenever he got bored with whoever was around. Trust me, even Batman grew tired of everyone.
Enough about Batman, my job was to enlighten you about myself. Well, actually I speak Spanish, not just English, which became very valuable during missions.
Once I arrived at my home, I got out of the car and locked it. My neighborhood was one of the poorer parts of my hometown, but you could never be too careful. I knocked on the door and waited for Mom or Dad to open it.
After I heard the lock hitting the door and the door opening, I greeted Mom by saying,"Hola mamá."
Mom kissed my cheek and hugged me saying,"Hola, mi amour. Cómo te fué en el trabajo?"
By "work," my mom didn't know I was involved with THE Young Justice. She just thought it was a normal job like at the store or something.
My Mom didn't speak English either, so I normally had to translate for her whenever we were in public or at an event for school.
Luckily, I got paid for the actual job I did have with the team. I also had a job at the pastry shop down the road.
I replied back to Mom,"Fue grandioso. Sin embargo, me dio un poco de hambre, pero me detuve para tomar un aperitivo en el camino a casa."
Mom smiled at me and got up, before I let out a long sigh. I hated how I always had to make up something to keep her from worrying about me.
Dad was working late, so she was basically here alone all the time. When I got home, she always made so much food I would be full for almost two weeks. Anyway, I had to get ready for my walk that I normally took at this time.
I took a quick shower, put on a jogging suit, and let Mom know I was going for my walk.
She said goodbye to me, before I opened my front door. I blushed when I ran into my neighbor, Jaime. There was not much I knew about him, but I knew enough to know I could trust him and have a decent conversation with him.
He held out his hand and greeted me saying,"Hola, vas a caminar ahora?"
I smiled, responding to Jaime,"Sí. Fue agradable conversar contigo."
I began to take my run and put my headphones in, while I began to track my footsteps.
When I stopped at the stop sign to look both ways, someone called my name. Blue Beetle.
"Hey, Blue. What are you doing here?"
Blue landed in front of me saying,"I just thought I'd stop by and say hello. Who was that you were talking to?"
I waved it off saying,"Just one of my neighbors. I just met him a few months ago, but he is pretty nice. I appreciate you coming by to say hi."
Blue Beetle cleared his throat and asked me,"After you are done running, would you care to join me for lunch?"
I nodded. I hope it didn't look like a desperate kind of nod.
Blue laughed and said,"I will see you later then, Y/N. I will stop by your place around 7. Is that all right?"
I nodded again and Blue flew off, before I ran so fast on my way home. I was running so fast that I tripped over my neighbor's dog and fell face first on the ground.
I immediately groaned in pain and looked down at my arm. My arm was definitely not facing the right direction.
I slowly got up and walked back home.
My Mom tried to help me, but I was too frustrated with myself to realize how clumsy I was. Now, there was no way I was going to lunch with Blue like this.
I walked into the bathroom and tried to clean up the blood forming in different spots on my face. Once I took care of my face, I still had to push my arm back into place.
I had no idea how I was going to do it, but I heard Mom yell from downstairs,"Y/N, HAY ALGUIEN AQUÍ PARA VERLO?!!"
I made my way down the stairs and opened the door, only for Blue to ask me,"Why aren't you dressed? Everything okay?"
I shook my head and gave him my hand saying,"Can you push my arm back into place?"
Blue held my hand and pushed my arm back into place, me trying not to cry out like a baby from the pain in the process.
I sighed saying,"I'm sorry, Blue. Another time?"
Blue waved it off saying,"No hay problema, Y/N. Te hice tan emocionado?"
I sent Blue a weird look, before he flew off.
I stood at that door for what felt like hours, before I mumbled,"Jaime."
