Oh, Baby

My old pal Lucifer was going to be a father.

Usually when someone tells you that your friend got someone pregnant, you're filled with excitement, not fear. I was emotionally drained, to say the least. And when Lucifer's baby was... implanted, in his... vessels secretary. It was... I felt myself rocked along with what I assumed was all of Heaven. Something was starting and it wasn't good. I was sitting at the table while Sam and Dean tried to find out where President Lucifer would be.

I set my head in my hands, I didn't know why I was feeling so drained. My talk with Dean, that had probably been relayed some to Sam. Spending the day with Lucifer, not the day. The night. I had betrayed him. I could feel that. We had a strange connection with each other. Not romantic. Not friendship. But it was enough of something to make me care for him in some strange way. I cared about him, and, by extension, I unwillingly cared about his child which is why I stewed quietly in the car while Castiel sat by my side in the back, saying that there was no way that baby could live.

I stared absently out the window. Dean and I hadn't talked much since our... well, our talk. And I decided to not tell him that I was getting up in the middle of the night to tend to a crying baby that didn't exist yet. It didn't take long for me to figure out that the crying baby I heard wasn't my soul longing for my baby sister. It was something in me that was longing to find Lucifer's child. I didn't even tell Sam or Cas or Dean that the closer we got to finding Lucifer, the louder the crying in my head would be. I finally broke out of myself and took a glance in the rear-view mirror, there was a car behind us on this empty road. A high-tech type of police car. It was at a perfect 'I'm-following-you' distance. I didn't like it. I also didn't like it when the siren came on and Dean pulled over to the side of the empty highway. He took a breath.

"Let me handle this, in and out, we'll be fine." He assured us. I pushed myself back against my seat.

"Dean..." Sam muttered, I followed his gaze behind us, where a few men had come out of the car, some in suits, some in army uniform, carrying guns.

"Step out of the car, all of you!" Someone yelled.

"...Let's go." Dean grumbled. One by one, we got out of the car. I was last.

"It's a kid... sir they have a kid." One of the men lowered his gun.

Castiel and I moved at the same time, lifting our hands and pulling the guns from them with a great and combined force.

"Stop!" Sam yelled, Castiel yielded. I didn't, not until Dean set a hand on my shoulder.

"Put your hands up." One of the men in the suits said as they others stood, ready to fight. Dean glared and put his hands up. So did Sam.

"What's this about?" Dean asked.

"You're wanted terrorists, you two. And kidnappers." The man snapped.

"They didn't kidnap anyone." I snapped back.

"Nell..." Sam whispered. I know what he was trying to say. It was Lucifer's doing. But I was still upset at the accusation.

Suddenly, there was a loud bang, followed by an explosion. The car erupted in flames, throwing the agents everywhere. We all stood in shocked surprise as we looked further down the road to see a man with what was unmistakably a grenade launcher standing by a black car. We stared at him as he made his way over. Castiel moved, Dean stopped him.

"You must be the Winchester group." the man had an accent. I immediately narrowed my gaze, people with accents hadn't really been good to us lately. "I'm glad I got here on time, you're welcome." He nodded with a smile.

"We didn't ask for your help." Dean snapped.

"You didn't. Sam did." the man motioned to Sam. Sam shook his head.

"I hung up that call before-"

"Yes but you still called." He moved closer, I stepped defensively forward. "Down, half-breed." He put up his hands. "I'm here to help, not to hurt."

We all were a lot calmer, not off guard, just calm and collected.

"What kind of help can you give?" Dean questioned angrily.

"Dean, we need to go." Castiel said impatiently.

"Do you have anything that can... help us... get rid of an angel?" Sam asked, we all shot looks at him, he gave us each a look that said he could handle the conversation.

"I do." the man crossed his arms.

"Can we have it?" I asked. He stared at me for a while.

"Wait here." He said, turning and going back to his car.

Dean looked to Sam.

"Why'd you call them?" He asked a bit angrily.

"They said if we needed anything-"

"I don't trust them..." I muttered.

"Me either." Castiel said.

"I don't think they like the idea of something like me still being alive." I muttered a bit lowly in case he could hear.

"I won't let him or any of his friends lay a hand on you, Nell." Dean promised. I sighed and nodded.

"Let's just play along for now, he might have something to help us with Lucifer and-"

"We shouldn't tell him." I broke in suddenly, earning a strange look from Sam and Dean and Cas. I swallowed.

"I mean... about the baby, about Lucifer... he might... kill that poor woman." I said, it was reasonable, but not the real reason I suddenly got so defensive.

The man returned with a briefcase that had a strange looking machine in it with strange looking symbols around it.

"With this, any angel within it's range will be forced out of it's vessel." He said. Castiel stiffened a bit, I gripped his jacket out of view of the others to give him some moral support. To let him know that it was okay, even if it wasn't. "All you have to do is press the button." The man slammed the case closed and handed it to Dean.

It wasn't long until we were on the road again. It wasn't long until we reached our meeting point. And, while coming up with a plan. I got the strangest text from Crowley.

It simply read, "I got the girl."

I didn't know what he meant by that until he showed up at our hotel room with a scared looking woman with a hand protectively on her stomach.

Crowley kidnapped the mother of Lucifer's child.
