"Look if he's going to be there tonight, you need to come." Megan persists.
I roll my eyes, she's been trying to set me up with some guy for a while now. "I'm just not the partying type, besides it's going to be at that house." I point out.
She laughs. "The only thing dangerous about that shit would be guys actually hitting on you."
I don't comment on that and instead keep my eyes trained on my phone. Megan notices. "Are you still hung up on that singer/ rapper or whatever."
"No." I lie.
I stuff my phone into my pocket while Megan hands me a red cup. "You don't even know what the guy looks like, just that one picture of his eye with the tattoo. Flor, please just try and be normal for tonight, drink this it should help." She lifts the cup to my lips and for once I actually do what she asks me.

It was hazy everywhere.
I wasn't sure of where I was, I just knew if I was with my friends I was going to be fine.
I trusted them they had earned it.
My head was spinning though, I could feel myself drifting. I turned my head to look at Megan who was just looking straight ahead pushing her way through the crowd of dancing bodies while holding my hand.
Whatever Megan had given me in that cup not only had it been foul but now I was starting to lose touch with reality.
"Lucky is so gonna give it to you tonight." She shouts over her shoulder so I can hear her through the loud music.
Lucky had been one of my high school crushes, we talked a few times here and there but I never had the courage to spark anything with him. I was too shy for any of that. Besides at the time he had a girlfriend and not only was she beautiful but she could kick ass.
And you guessed it I wasn't about fighting either.
I was more of your book worm, Netflix binge watching, staying at home kind of girl. I wasn't so sure how I had let Megan convince me to come at this house party, though.
She plants a kiss on my cheek once we reach the hallway, "Just wait here." She mutters.
I try to tell her okay but I think I end up slurring something else. As she let's go of me I stumble back. My head hitting the wall as I slid onto the floor. "Ouch." I groan.
My eyes perked up at the sound of a few guys talking.
Looking up my eyes followed where the voice was coming from and it was something like out of a movie but only in slow motion, Jahseh and his friends were walking down the hallway his eyes trained on me as they talked and I couldn't help but watch him too.
He was like one of those guys you always had a crush on in high school and always locked eyes with when passing each other by in the hallways or by the lockers.
It was only for a moment but I swear I saw him smile at me, for some reason it ended up having an effect on me something guys rarely cause. I feel my cheeks blush and it was at that point that I looked away and starred at my hands instead.
I didn't know him that well but I knew of him, just the rumors though but I wasn't going to judge him based off that. I knew enough common sense to figure out who was bad and Jahseh wasn't one of them.
He was just hurting.
I knew that much because the look in his eyes seemed to reflect what I was feeling inside.
After that night when he had bumped into me the next morning while I was throwing out the trash he came up to me. "Um, you dropped this."
I turn to see him, shirtless standing on our lawn and for some reason I start to panic. If my mom was to see me talking with him she would never let it go.
