His Proposal

“Be my girlfriend.” He said in a dead serious voice.

“ I beg your pardon?” napaupo ako ng tuwid, hindi ko lalm kung tama ba yung pagkakarinig ko sa sinabi nya.

“I said be my girlfriend.” Namumula nyang sabi.

Bigla akong natawa, as in tawa ako ng tawa.

“What’s funny?” lukot ang mukha nyang tanong.

“Y-you!” natatawa ko paring sabi.

“Carra!” he said in a serious voice. Naniningkit yung mata nya na halatang nagpipigil ng galit.

Bigla naman akong napatigil sa pag tawa.

“Ok, I’m sorry.” I said as I was trying to stop myself from laughing again. “Ikaw naman kasi, kung ano ano yang mga pinagsasabi mo! Wait.. are you drunk or what?” I asked him, then lumapit ako sakanya para amuyin sya.

He smells nice..really nice..

Napalayo naman sya saakin.

“Carra, will you please take me seriously?” he looks annoyed.

“I’m being serious! It’s just that…I’m talking to Cian Collins, the infamous Playboy na puro fling lang ang alam at walang sineseryoso para gawing girlfriend, although may “acting girlfriend slash unofficial girlfriend..” bigla akong napahinto sa sinasabi ko nang may maisip ako. I turn to look at him intently. “Don’t tell me, you’re asking me to be like Ashley? To become your favorite fling without expiration date that you can parade as a Trophy girlfriend?” I said with disgust in my voice.

“Ofcourse not! I’m not offering you to be another Ashley in my life..I mean may difference naman..”

“What? I don’t understand you?!” naiinis kong sabi. Maisip ko palang na maging isang tulad ni Ashley sa buhay ni Cian is already giving me creeps.

“Why don’t you let me finish my proposal first before your violent reaction?”

“Fine!” I said as I rolled my eyes.

He took a deep breath.

“I’m asking you to be my girlfriend not to be my favorite fling kasi si Ashley na iyon and I know that you are aware of it. Ang magiging pagkakaiba nyo ni Ashley  is that si Ashley is just acting as if she’s  my girlfriend kahit hindi naman, and since wala naman akong girlfriend kaya hinahayaan ko lang sya. But if you will accept my offer, then as my girlfriend you will have all the rights that a girlfriend can have..at mas may karapatan ka sakin compared kay Ashley.” He said in low voice as he waited for my reaction.

“And what made you think that I will accept your proposal? Ano naman mapapala ko dyan? I know you are Cian Collins, But I am Carra, I can have any guy na gugustuhin ko without being branded as a girlfriend! Bakit ko gugustuhin maging girlfriend mo? I know your hot, rich and famous but so am I! And hello I love my freedom! I smirked at him.

Bigla naman syang nanahimik na para bang nag iisip.

“Because like me I know that you’re also bored with your life. You want to explore and have some spice in your life, am I right? If you are afraid to lose your freedom, then ditto.  Yes, I’m offering you to be my girlfriend but I’m not  forgetting the fact that we are PLAYERS that we love to play and be with different people. So what I’m offering you is not a normal boyfriend girlfriend relationship. Aside from the perks of having each other, we can still live like the way we used to…”

“What do you mean? Eh parang fling type lang din yang nasaisip mo eh.”

“Well kahit na mag on na tayo..we can still do our monkey business…I mean you can still date anyone you like..and so am I. the boyfriend and girlfriend thing is just a brand, a label..”

“Eh ano pang sense na nging tayo kung makikipag date din ayo sa iba? Fling pa rin yun.. no commitment..”

“Well at least malalaman nang lahat na we are officially dating, we have some rights na meron ang isang couple. If I need you, you’ll come and vice versa. Hindi lang tayo simpleng mag kafling,  magkakaroon tayo ng right sa isa’t isa na wala sa mga ka-fling natin. At kahit makipag date tayo sa iba o makipag fling, ok lang..no hard feelings kasi sa umpisa palang we already set the rules.. at least hindi natin matatawag na naglolokohan tayo, kasi allowed naman tayo to be with others. As long as wala tayong sineseryoso na kafling natin, then that would be fine. And as long as we are enjoying each others company and not falling inlove then everything is perfect!” he said while smiling. “ So what do you think? Hindi kaya natatakot ka na baka at the end of the day, you’ll end up with a broken heart? kaya ayaw mo?”

“Of course not!” mabilis kong sabi. “Kahit kalian hindi pa ako umaatras sa isang challenge..sa isang game!”

Yes this is just a game, a game made by Cian. He is so confident that at the end of the day I’ll be the one who’s going to lose.

I’ll make him eat his words, because I’ll make sure that he is the one who’s going to fall inlove..mas mabilis kong maisasakatuparan ang plano ko pag pumayag ako sa proposal nya. I’ll be able to teach him the “ART OF BEING A PLAYER”.

“So tell me Carra, are you accepting my proposal?”

“Sure.. as long as you promise na hindi ka mai-inlove saakin.” I said sweetly.

And with that he reached my hand and kiss the back of my palm.

“Never Gorg, I swear that won’t happen ever!” then he smiled back at me.

“Promises are made to be broken, I hope yours wont!”  I said with an evil smile.

Let the game begin.
