As my eyes fluttered open tiredly I looked around, confused as to where I am. The sky has darkened significantly since the last time I looked and I can just see the faint outline of the moon.
Crap, what time is it? How long have I been here?
Pushing myself up off the cold, damp grass, I used the fading daylight and shadows on the ground to keep me from tripping over something.
As I hastily walked back through the hundreds of headstones I can't help but think about how the Hoods are feeling right now. They're probably freaking out, due to the time and the fact that I don't have a phone means that they have no idea where I am or whether I'm okay.
Keeping my eyes on the ground as I walked, shielding my face from the cold wind, and also knowing that I'm close to the gate due to the grass turning a gravel pathway.
Thinking that if I walk faster I might be able to get home before it gets took dark, I picked up the pace, not thinking that anyone would be around.
“Oh, sorry.” I mumbled as I ran into someone.
“Jordan?” A familiar male voice asked.
Oh, God. Of course it's him. He's stalking me so it's obvious that he's going to follow me everywhere. Beau.
“Sorry but I have to go.” I tried to walk around him but he grabbed my arm.
“I told you I’d seen you again soon.” He smirked.
I groaned. I don't have time to stay and talk to this psycho, nor do I want to.
“Whatever, Beau. I really have to go.”
“Aw, come on. Stay with me, and then I’ll drive you home.” His words slurred together slightly as he looked me up and down.
“No. I'm leaving.” I said harshly.
“Come on, you use to always want to drive with me.”
“That was before. Things have changed, besides, you’re drunk and I don’t feel like dying in a car crash tonight.”
I successfully took two steps before he stopped me again, grabbing both of my wrists tightly — so tight that it feels like he's cutting off my blood circulation.
“Jesus, Beau! Let go!” I raised my voice.
He backed me up against a tree, bringing his face close to mine so that I can smell the alcohol on his breath when he talks.
“You can’t avoid me, Jordan. I’m everywhere that you are, there’s no avoiding me or your past.”
“What are you talking about?” I tugged on my wrists. “Let go.”
“I’m going to be keeping an eye on you, I’ve been told to do so." He lowered his voice.
“Beau, please stop. You're scaring me.”
“If this is scaring you, just wait until later.”
My breaths started coming out heavier as my whole body started to shake slightly. I need to get away from him. I need to.
Doing the first thing that came into my mind, I pulled my leg back and pushed it forward with all the strength that I have, kneeing him in the groin.
He groaned and dropped to the ground, releasing his hold on me. Not having time to admire my handy work, I pushed myself off the tree and ran out of the cemetery.
Continuing to run, I heard Beau's faint voice call after me, "There’s no escaping me.”
After a while of running, I started to find it hard to breathe, so I leaned up against a tree and put all my weight on it.
