"Uncle?" I choked in a whisper.
"Uncle?" Calum echoed, his tone kind of cold. "Jordan, you didn't say anything about you having an uncle nearby."
"I- I..."
There's only one uncle that I'm aware of, and there's a reason that I act like he's not even alive.
"Jordan, what the hell is going on?" Calum snapped.
"Calum, calm down, man. This isn't her fault."
I turned to see Ashton place his hand on Calum's shoulder in an enough to either calm him or pull him away. Ashton catches my gaze and watches me carefully, looking for any signs of a breakdown - which I am already feeling on the inside.
Seeing my panicked expression, Ashton frowned. "Jordan? What's wrong?"
Calum turned his attention to me and away from Ashton. I feel like he's being especially overly protective now that we're 'together', which - in times like this - comes in very handy. But I also feel like he's taking everything more to heart than he use to, like right now, he's angry at me for not telling him that I have an uncle nearby. I can understand why he'd be a little annoyed, but not this angry. He knows that I don't like talking about my family, especially the very limited amount who are actually alive, for good reasons.
"What's going on?" Luke frowned, appearing beside Ashton with Michael.
"Jordan, do you want me to get him to leave?" Joy questioned quietly.
I would have said yes, but it's too late.
"Jordan?"
My body stiffened as tears started welling in my eyes. His voice saying that one word is enough to make terrible memories come flooding back...
"Please, stop." I pleaded, scared tears streaming down my face as his grip tightens on me.
"There's no time to stop. The Devil doesn't stop."
"Please..." I whimpered. "I didn't do anything."
"Everything is your fault. He is in you. He controls you. We need to get Him out before He does any more damage... before you do any more damage."
"I'm sorry," I cried. "It's not my fault... I'm sorry. Please, I'm so sorry. Don't do this."
"It has to be done." His stone cold expression scared me. "James, hold her down."
"Yes, father." My cousin nodded.
I cried and screamed at the initial pain as they held me over the white stone, waiting until I was almost completely drained before fixing me up. My body was always so limp and tired afterwards that he had to carry me up the stairs and my exhaustion pulled me into slumber.
I let tears slip from my eyes as I turn around slowly, being faced with one of my worst nightmares only metres away. My uncle seems to have aged more, but other than that, he's still the same as I remember - always looking kind, but actually having a dark side that no one really knew about.
My cousin, James, is standing next to him. He's always been a handsome guy, but now that he's older it's kind of a scary kind of handsome. Like, you know that he might do something bad to you, but people find him so attractive that you can't help but be drawn to him. He's my cousin, so I don't feel romantically towards him, but that's the way it would be for other people.
My uncle's eyes lit up in a way that told me, and only me, that he thinks the Devil in still inside me.
"Look at you," my uncle faked compassion. "You're so grown up."
