Guys, I had 18.5 written when I came up with this imagine. I think this one sounded a lot better than the other one, so I decided to go ahead and publish this one instead.
Carl's P.O.V.
"Hey, Carl?"I turn around to see (Y/N) and Judith standing just inside of my office. I get up from my desk, walking over to give Judy a hug.
"Hey, Judith! What a nice surprise!" I smile, watching my sister grin.
"Judith was asking me what the world was like before the apocalypse, and I figured you might want to join in our conversation," (Y/N) says, taking a seat on the couch.
"Yeah, sure. Sit here, young one," I say, pointing to the floor in front of the couch. As Judy sits down on the floor, I take a seat beside (Y/N).
"Carl, I'm seven now. I'm closer to being a teenager than what I am a baby," Judith sighs, putting a hand on her hip.
"So much sass in such a little body," I sigh, looking back to my desk.
I really need to get back to work.
"Okay, Judith. (Y/N) and I are going to answer your question now. The world was very different from what it is now. There was much, much less bloodshed in Georgia. There were people everywhere. When I was your age, I had a bunch of friends. I went to school, had play dates, and walked outside without having to be worried for my life. Everything was..." I stop, not knowing what to say.
"Good. Everything was good, and we took it for granted. Judith, you would've loved it. Barbie Dolls were made by the dozen." (Y/N) says. I watch Judith's eyes widen, a smile creeping onto her face. I feel a ping of hurt in my chest, suddenly sorry for her. She'll never know what it's like to be carefree.
"There were fast food restaurants everywhere. Most people didn't have to eat out of a can. If you traveled to a big city, you'd see cars zoom by and lights on everywhere. New York City was called-"
"The city that never sleeps," Judith cuts me off.
"(Y/N) told me about it when she was on watch a few days ago. I was bored, and I asked her to tell me a story," Judith says, laying on her back.
"Do you think I'll ever get to see the world as it was?" Judith asks, closing her eyes. (Y/N) looks over at me with a small frown, a hand over her heart.
"I have a couple of pictures I saved from a while back. When you get a little older, I'll show them to you," (Y/N) says, talking about the pictures from a trip she took when she was younger. She's showed me them before.
"Why not now? There's no promised tomorrow," Judith says, grinning. I smile too, looking at (Y/N) with raised eyebrows.
"You've got a point, but it'll give you something to look forward to," (Y/N) says, standing up.
"Alright. Judith, I think it's time to go. Carl has a lot of stuff to do, so we probably need to let him get back to work," (Y/N) says, pulling Judith off of the floor.
"Bye Carl, see you later," Judith says, waving. She walks out of the room and down the hall.
"I love you babe. If you need anything, I'm around," Says (Y/N), blowing me a kiss from across the room. She walks out, leaving a slight scent of vanilla in the absence of her presence.
I'm going to marry that girl one day.
I walk over to my desk and sit down, getting back to work on my paper. My job is to write rules for the town.
Wow, look at me now, Mrs. Fredison. I'm basically George Washington, or whoever wrote America's amendments.
1. Everyone must find a way to carry their own weight.
2. Everyone must attend a minimum of two days in training.
3. A said person is given three days to study these rules, and on their fourth day here they have to take a twenty question test over them.
4. If someone new has a child with them, that gets taken into consideration when deciding if they can stay or not.
5. Anyone can join the group as long as they have not injured anyone, they passed the test, they can carry their own weight, and they don't have anyone after them.
I am just about to write the sixth rule when I hear gunshots outside. Now that Dad and Daryl have passed, it is my job to protect this town.
I grab a knife, two pistols, and ammunition from my bottom drawer, and then head downstairs and outside. I sling open the door to be greeted by a young girl with a knife in her hand. She manages to slice my thigh before I can get the knife away from her.
I can't kill a girl this young, can I? She can't be any older than fourteen.
Of course I can. I remember what it was like to be fourteen.
I stab the knife into her skull, laying her down on the porch. I examine the wound on my leg before creeping around the side of the house. I get the gun from my pocket, load it, and then go out into the street to fight.
"Carl!" I hear someone screech. I look up, seeing (Y/N) on top of the wall. Judith stands beside her. Behind them stand two grown men, getting ready to push them over the edge.
As I yell out to warn them, I feel an agonizing pain in my side that causes me to cry out instead. I look down, my baby blue shirt soaked in a crimson color.
I look back up to (Y/N) and Judith to see them both being held over the edge by the men.
"Choose one," the one holding Judith grins, swinging her from side to side. I look between (Y/N) and Judith. There's no way I can only choose one.
"Choose one or they both die!" The one holding (Y/N) yells, shaking her vigorously.
"Five..
four..
three...
two.." I hear before fading unconscious.—time skip—
I wake up, Judith sitting by my side. Her eye is purple, bruises up and down her arms."Carl!" She yells, squeezing her arms around my neck.
"Where's (Y/N)?" I ask, a feeling of dread building up in my chest.
"She threw herself off of the wall when she saw her prince die right in front of her," (Y/N) smirks, leaning against the doorframe.
•••
Hey guys! For anyone confused, Carl's group ended up winning the fight against the people who ambushed them. He wakes up in the town's hospital to (Y/N) teasing him. I didn't edit this, so there's probably tons of mistakes throughout the chapter lol.Q&A:
1. How many hours of sleep do you get a night?
2. About how long do you want these updates to be?
3. Do you prefer updates with lots of relationship stuff between (Y/N) and Carl, or do you want action packed imagines?
5 Votes for a new update! Love you guys!
